Does Michael Edwards have a statistical index for gauging toxicity in a football club?

He's run away on holiday, like after every game, he can't wait to get away.

Absolutely disgraceful behaviour and completely unprofessional.

Might be in the minority here but I’m not too fussed about missing out on Xabi. I would be more annoyed if Slot stays.

In all honestly not sure Xabi’s style of football would be the high tempo style we are all craving. When watching Leverkusen it seems to be closer to Slot’s style than Klopp’s.

Agree logically it made sense given Wirtz is our record signing and his connections to the club but I think we need someone to bring back our heavy metal identity as Salah said and I don’t think that’s Alonso for all his strengths.

Good manager and defs an improvement on Slot but I don’t think the be and end all - decision to go to Chelsea also strange so let’s see how he gets on.

All I do know is that we should be targeting someone who has authority and can get these players playing again. The mentality that have shown this season is poor - they could easily have ignored Slot’s tactics and played how they played last season and prior to that but have chosen the easy option. First thing I’d do is reduce our Dutch contingent and go from there.

Sebastian Hoeness — This is exactly the man we need ?

Everyone’s talking about him, and honestly? I am 100% convinced he’s going to be absolutely outstanding — and his record already proves it.

Let’s look at what he’s achieved in just a few years as a manager:
✅ 2019/20: Won the 3. Liga with Bayern Munich II — named Manager of the Season ?
✅ 2023/24: Took VfB Stuttgart from bottom of the Bundesliga all the way to 2nd place and Champions League football — incredible turnaround.
✅ 2024/25: Won the DFB-Pokal (German Cup) — their first major trophy in 18 years! ?

He doesn’t just get results — he plays football exactly like Klopp. ⚡
High intensity, relentless pressing, fast transitions, full-backs bombing forward, brave attacking football — exactly the style we loved, exactly what we’ve been missing so badly.

And let’s clear up one myth too… ?️
Some people say his English isn’t fluent — that is completely wrong.

I’ve watched his press conferences and interviews: his English is excellent, clear, confident and very good indeed. No barrier at all, he communicates perfectly.

He doesn’t make excuses. He doesn’t blame players. He takes struggling teams, rebuilds their identity, gives them belief, and turns them into winners fast. He takes responsibility, he improves players, and he gets everyone playing for the shirt.

Compare that to what we’ve got right now… and there is literally no contest. Hoeness is young, hungry, proven, plays the football we want, speaks our language, and builds something special wherever he goes.

Mark my words — he’s going to be one of the best managers in Europe very soon.

If we get him? We get our club back. ??

Two paths from here post Alonso news.

1) There is a serious rabbit about to be pulled from the hat here, something as significant as Enrique or Klopp.

2) We continue with Slot, buy the wrong players (again) and we witness the most significant mis-management of a club in the last 10/20 years. A club that had been in serious ascendency, at the top of elite football, well managed financially, able to compete on all fronts, demolished in a couple of seasons.

If it's Hoeness coming in, hopefully he brings Stiller with him, strangely enough, he's got a bit of Alonso about him. Looks more mobile and stronger too, he would be an exciting one for me.

I said that a few weeks back when looking into Hoeness. Check out their left back as well. Older player, but many assists and suits our style. We were also scouting their young German CB Jeltsch.
