I'm aware I may be clutching at straws here, and tbh am resenting the fact I am even spending time pondering this side of the club I love the game I love and the city and fans who over the last 10 years have provided my son and I memories and hospitality we will never forget, as a dad living my dreams with my boy having lost my own dad way too early denying me the chance as his son too, and to add, a city, a team, a fan base that have shaped my now 17 year old boys views on life, community, football and life that are the key factors in his outlook on life, and why he treats others and is starting to play football in albeit the bottom league of the football pyramid he does get paid to play our club, your city are different then all others and these differences are the key to our success, and all when this time last year I was simply urging my lad to save some red flares for the parade!!
But when things don't make any logical sense to me, I am a 51 year old man who needs to make sense of the seemingly illogical.
Equally as a 51 year old man who has a huge dislike for anything social media, living with your head in a phone, this site and the snippets of info the Carra's, Thefields, VG Robbo etc give are the exception.
So very long story short, we can confidently say the powers that be are split and unable to agree on the best way forward managerially. This has been the general consensus when with approx 5 games left we knew one win would realistically guarantee CL football next season. With I assume Edwards/Hughes potentially with a view that with planned incoming players and back room coaching staff "their man" Slot and their ego/ plans deserved to be seen through, and assumingly Billy Hogan not so convinced. But now the situation is different, we have gone from only needing to get 3 points in the last 3/4 games for CL football, to a very realistic chance of failing and missing out.
I stand to be corrected and would be interested in the views of the Carra's etc, but when we hear of a failure to agree at board level, does that mean the the statutory board members namely.
Michael Edwards (CEO of Football)
Billy Hogan (Club CEO)
Richard Hughes (Sporting Director)
and at a time when CL qualification seemed all but guaranteed.
and not considering the actual management board of.
John W. Henry – Principal Owner
Tom Werner – Chairman
Mike Gordon – President
Michael Egan – Director
Sir Kenny Dalglish – Non-Executive Director
Jenny Beacham – Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Jonathan Bamber – Chief Legal and External Affairs Officer.
A group I would assume, are not driven by ego, but apart from "The King" commercially and the value of their investment. This board I assume has yet to give input in a the manager question, but would be driven by commercial income, the value of the club as a commodity and their investment and what best drives that, equally could and would weigh in on any day to day club level dispute between Edwards/Hughes/Hogan and their decision would override them. Assumingly based in what protects and maximises their investment, whilst being aware of fan sentiment.
So when we hear the board are split, do we mean the day to day club level of Edwards/ Hughes/Hogan,
and not the FSG board that sits above them and would ultimately decide and overide any dispute at the day to day club level management team, and is it true thar that the FSG board have yet to have input yet? and baring in mind the failure to yet secure the financial windfall of champions league football next season, that any concrete decision on Slots future will not happen until the season ends, and the big guns have their say .which for me on a purely
Commercial side Alonso would have huge commercial and brand impact before he even took a training session? have the board really yet to speak?

Breaking - Salah makes a statement:
I have witnessed this club go from doubters to believers, and from believers to champions. It took hard work and I always did everything I could to help the club get there. Nothing makes me prouder than that.
Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve. I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies. That is the football I know how to play and that is the identity that needs to be recovered and kept for good.
It cannot be negotiable and everyone that joins this club should adapt to it.
Winning some games here and there is not what Liverpool should be about. All teams win games.
Liverpool will always be a club that means a great deal to me and to my family. I want to see it succeed for long after I have moved on.
As I've always said, qualifying to next season's Champions League is the bare minimum and I will do everything I can to make that happen.

Salah is basically standing up to the authority just like Benitez did to the 2 American bozos.
Thank you, Mo.

Christ, how I could do with a Carra update right now... ?

I know some people may have a go at me about this, I don't want to get into a debate on using AI, but for a bit of fun I asked AI to predict the managerial outcome at Liverpool.
Answer:
Slot will leave and the next manager of Liverpool will be Julian Nagelsmann.
16 May 2026 13:04:05
I'll take that.... To be fair I'll take anyone whose name isn't Arne Slot...
16 May 2026 16:22:34
I'd take ChatGPT over Slot.
16 May 2026 16:43:04
Is Nagelsmann really top tier?
Don't know enough about his tactics.
{Ed001's Note - no. Not even second or third tier.}
16 May 2026 17:34:58
Hmm concerning to see his name thrown around so much in that case Ed!
Thanks for your view

I have been a fan since the Hitachi days. Yesterday, I totally forgot to watch the game. That about sums up where I'm at with this season.
16 May 2026 12:40:32
Things are that bad, mate... yeah, I had that Hitachi kit.... it came in a box from what I remember... I went out for a curry last night rather than watch the game....
