Hey all. Does anyone know if there is a DVD of last year's champions league win in the pipeline? Seems worthy of a release.

Side note- if the club could arrange for a DVD of the entire Barcelona 4-0 game but overlaid with the LFC. tv commentary with Aldo and Steve Hunter that would be AMAZINGGG. Ed001- can you have a word with your contacts at the club and make it happen pleeeease?

{Ed001's Note - if they haven't already done it, then there is a reason behind it mate. They probably can't get the rights for a reasonable price.}

I know that the knuckle-draggers who attacked the City bus last year are probably not members of this esteemed platform, but if the scousers here present could get the word around town that what happened last year was embarrassing to say the least, and to not do it again please?

It just gives other clubs reason to trash-talk us, when we are flying on the pitch, we should do our part as fans and make sure that's the only reason the press have to talk about us.

Let's make the world jealous of what we are building.

1.) 08 Nov 2019 05:45:09
So very true mate. Just a pity that you have to write this at all👍.

2.) 08 Nov 2019 07:15:04
Spot on, total idiots.

3.) 08 Nov 2019 07:21:22
Too right mate, I wish the 'fans' were as professional as the team, we are striving forward, we don't need little kn*bheads like that tarnishing our image but as we all know, they aren't fans, they're little divvies thinking they're clever. Thankfully the vast majoirty are sound.

4.) 08 Nov 2019 07:31:18
I can’t see the streets being lined waiting for the buses this early into the season mate. But agree what happened is not on.

The atmosphere will be electric inside the ground, I can’t wait for this one, To be fair, it’s been good all season, I’m sure other season ticket holders and match goers on here will agree. There is no panic in the crowd when we go a goal down or we’re not playing particularly well which has been the case a few times this season.

5.) 08 Nov 2019 08:03:36
Such is the world now where people need to be told not to attack a bus.

6.) 08 Nov 2019 08:26:24
Couldn't agree more. The club has embarrassed it's self a lot over the last few years, but we have got better latley.
Just don't need the morons to drag us down when the club seems to be improving off the field and on it.
Long may the improvements continue.

7.) 08 Nov 2019 09:31:31
remember when Klopp use to exhort the fans inside the stadium and then in the pressers to stay with the team right to the last second? looks like after all these years that is finally starting to bear fruit. it's pretty cool to see it play out.

8.) 08 Nov 2019 10:07:04
Agree with you totally, Drogie. Apart from Tuesday night when the only atmosphere in the ground was generated by the Genk supporters. Thought they were superb from start to finish. Sunday will be electric, I'm sure.

9.) 08 Nov 2019 18:59:41
Spot on, OP. I just hope their bus is left alone so they would have nothing to cry about should we hopefully smash them. I hope or fans just act properly and let the football do the talking. As for the atmosphere, if it was anything like the Barcelona game then City are in for a date with hell, IMO.

Re not signing any first-teamers: I just wanted to point out, as I haven't seen it mentioned before now, that Spurs signed no-one last close season and got to the CL final. This shows that a settled group of players CAN improve without any additions.

Not sure, but does anyone know whether Leicester signed anyone between fighting a relegation battle and wining the league?

Finally- I would argue that young Harvey Elliot is a first team back-up for Mane. He looks ready to me. So we have strengthened our depth.

1.) 04 Aug 2019 20:02:50
Leicester signed Gohkan Inler to replace the outgoing Esteban Cambiasso, but he didn't settle and N'Golo Kante came to prominence. I'm not 100% sure, but I think he Kante signed the season before, but Cambiasso kept him out of the team.

It's also the season that Mahrez really started to shine. I don't know how long he'd been at Leicester but I know it's not long. Their scout had gone to France to sign a completely different player but negotiations stalled and he ended up coming back with an entirely different player than that they had scouted. He came back with Mahrez instead for about £500k.

{Ed001's Note - Kante only spent one season at Leicester.}

2.) 04 Aug 2019 20:03:53
I agree with you stoneage. I'm much more optimistic than I was a couple of weeks ago.

3.) 04 Aug 2019 20:44:03
Spurs did not choose to not to sign players last season. I know many in the media and fans alike keep saying that BUT none of that is true. They tried to sign Zaha and Jack Grealish last summer but could not pay what Palace wanted or could not get the Grealish deal over the line. In fact then Villa manager Steve Bruce said that Surs could have gotten Grealish if "they did enough to get him". They may have decoded to sign no one afterwards BUT it was not like they went into last season not signing players as a deliberate strategy. They couldn't get deals done.

As for our boys and our perfs. during preseason, I was never worried about us cos preason should lead you to the type of perf. we had today where our fitness levels were off the charts in comparison to City. City looked dead on their feet by the hour mark. Had that been LFC, I would be really concerned about things even if we had won the CS.

4.) 04 Aug 2019 20:41:46
We are one top quality player away.

5.) 04 Aug 2019 21:50:42
I agree Acered. I was really hoping that it would be Brandt, but it may be someone that they've already laid the groundwork for in January or it very well could be a youngster that we are grooming.

6.) 04 Aug 2019 22:04:09
Thats a bit of an insult to the boys. They played some amazing football today.

7.) 05 Aug 2019 01:11:05
He looks quality and even looks more comfy amongst 1st team than woodburn, curtis jones who are 19, I think him being Mane's understudy is a lot too ask at 16 yrs old do u think he is more useful than kent and harry wilson, I am not sure, he needs too get on weights and plenty of steak . Also u do realise spurs lost 13 league games last season and were lucky other teams didn't have quality that will be there this season .

8.) 05 Aug 2019 06:15:43
Spurs were much poorer in the league last season. They did well in the CL but there run was tinged with a great deal of fortune around it - I know you could say the same for a lot of teams - but I don't think that their run in the CL was indicative of improvement and, when looking at their league form, they were clearly not reaching the same level as the season before. I'm not saying we need to sign anyone, I think our situations are quite different, but I don't think Spurs are a good example of not making major signings and still maintaining the quality.

Weekend question: would you rather win the lottery, or Liverpool win the league?

1.) 23 Mar 2019 17:46:44
Lottery I'm afraid.

2.) 23 Mar 2019 17:47:56
Liverpool winning the league would mean the world to me, but winning the lottery would mean the world to my whole family, so It's got to be the lottery. But it's a tough choice!

3.) 23 Mar 2019 18:04:29
I choose lottery even if it meant Everton winning the league.

4.) 23 Mar 2019 18:15:11
Lottery, then I'll bribe the FA to give Liverpool all the decisions like Man City have done *straightens tinfoil hat*.

5.) 23 Mar 2019 19:28:19
I don't know about that TJ ;) bloody hell mate I wouldn't be able to enjoy the millions if they won it before us lol.

6.) 23 Mar 2019 23:07:19
Buy another mansion Salah - instant feel good 😁
Btw, been meaning to ask - are you fully healthy now? Recovered?

7.) 23 Mar 2019 23:52:27
Lol that's true TJ.

Thank you very much for asking mate, I'm doing really well :) 100% now. I'm a firm believer in 'everything happens for a reason' what happened last year changed me somewhat and for the better so I continue to look at the positives mate! I hope you are doing well?

8.) 24 Mar 2019 01:43:55
Good to hear man.
I am doing well sir! We are very much the lucky few aren't we? Maybe folks (including myself lol) need to sometime remind ourselves just how good we have it
Take care good fella!

9.) 24 Mar 2019 01:44:55
um soz, win the lottery lol.

10.) 24 Mar 2019 07:02:51
Depends mate if I got three numbers that is only a tenner, so I would choose Liverpool lol.

11.) 24 Mar 2019 09:53:39
Genuinely enough, about ten years ago I’d have said the league, but now, hmmmm might just have to look after the family as well. That’s fantastic to hear as well Salah mate.

{Ed001's Note - whereas I am the other way round, ten years ago it would have been great, my daughter was young etc. Now I would rather earn the money for myself than win it, especially having read the accounts of lottery winners and how it affected their lives. Very very few enjoy the money like you think they would.}

12.) 24 Mar 2019 10:45:46
Yeah ed1, used to scoff when my mum said more money more trouble but half get it - it certainly ain't easy managing with a complete lack of financial restraint.
Still - I want it! 😀.

{Ed001's Note - it is not just that. It is the begging off people that harass them etc as well. And family are usually the worst.}

13.) 24 Mar 2019 19:59:52
Salah, if you don't mind me asking, what happened to the thugs who jumped you? I commend you on your positive attitude really look forward to seeing your posts.

14.) 25 Mar 2019 10:52:30
Thank you Stone.

Ill be honest mate, I didn't want to go further with it, I was happy for them to walk but it went further out of my control. One walked free and 2 got time, it was actually on the BBC website for a day or so and I had to have my ugly mug on there! Lol but more than anything I just hope they've learnt their lesson and don't make the same mistake again. I hold no grudges mate, we move on :) . If I hear of them doing anything remotely similar again then yeah it'll be a different story but I have my doubts.

For those of you counting how many times Virgil will ask this before January - that’s two.

The problem is playing two holding midfielders against the back 5 / 'low-block'. I would have been happy v Utd if the shackles were off Hendo to bomb forward, late runs into the box etc to give an extra attacking option. But he doesn't seem to do that. There's no need to be so defensive against teams that defend. Fabinho can hold his own.

I live in Canada too and buy a shirt through the club shop every year and they post it out to me. That way the club gets the money, and not some random shop. Support your club!

{Ed002's Note - That income for the shop is reasonably small, but the club do get more money than popping in to your local sports shop - where they get near none.}

I like how auto correct changes it to Hudson-Odour so for that reason alone we should keep it longhand.

MLS is definitely getting better. The intensity of the EPL may not be there, and the quality may not be as sustained, but there are definite moments of quality creeping in. The style is influenced by the high number of South American players in the league.

Like with any sport, it does help to actually be supporting one of the teams, then you're more invested in the games.

I have to admit I've never noticed the artificial surfaces having much of an effect. Only a few of the grounds seem to have them anyway - it's just the ones in the north where the winters are pretty harsh. Yes Ed002- even compared with Liverpool.

Excellent- thanks Ed. I married a big Timbers fan last year (she's been converted to yell for the Reds now too) . We've been to Providence Park a few times and the atmosphere is always electric. Any Reds over in the Pacific NW, I recommend dropping in for a game.

I love it when a goal is scored and Timber Joey cuts a cookie off a huge tree that's behind the goal- you didn't mention in the article that he does it with a chainsaw whilst the game is still going on. So USA. Such theatre!

Anyway- it was a huge surprise to wake up to a review of our second favourite team this morning- thanks!

ps Do you follow the MLS? Are you a Timbers fan?

{Ed001's Note - sorry I should have mentioned that, it was the whole reason I put that bit in was to mention about the chainsaw. You couldn't have that in England!

No I don't follow MLS, I have tried watching it at times but I don't really enjoy it.}

Hi AOE. You should know- a search for your book Spark City on Audible brings up Park City, described as a 'Firefighter Romance' :D.

'THEIR' English is probably better than yours! ;)
Seriously though, although I like 4-4-2 for its dynamism, for our historical use and success with it, and the fact that it clearly still works in the Prem (i. e. Leicester's title), you have to admit that the way that Klopp deploys 4-3-3 is incredibly dynamic - it's not like we're never in a formation with two boys out wide and two strikers in the box ever ever is it?
