My mate is a bus driver who drives past Melwood. He tells me that the groundstaff there are convinced that
Luciano Vietto is on his way to Anfield in January.

Eds, any light to shed on this?

exiledscouser

1.) Do the groundstaff run alongside the bus and shout the latest transfer gossip through his window, or do they have big placards?

03 Jan 2014 12:12:17
Don't shoot me - I am just the messenger but I heard from a source that İlkay Gündoğan fancies a move to the EPL - and that his preferred choice is Liverpool.

be nice if this was more than a rumour

exiledscouser

1.) İlkay Gündoğan will be moving to Madrid in the summer

2.) 03 Jan 2014 13:37:31
No chance.

3.) I don't think you have the slightest chance mate. Only two clubs as a possible destination and you are not one.

4.) 03 Jan 2014 18:19:53
God created united?
And called u the red devils
Alright mate, just enjoy ya season, with the fast flowing footy moyes will bring ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haa that purple nose wasn't soft was he?

Eds, any light to shed on this?. {Ed002's Note - Perhaps. Luciano Vietto was one of the South American players that Liverpool took a look at in the summer of 2012. There has also been interest shown by Parma, Juventus, Palermo and Real Madrid.}

exiledscouser

1.) Good roumor. my friend also told me this, hm but his source was a friend of a person who works in club, so just didn't put to much into it. now I think it could be possible

2.) Would he be able to get a work permit

Fekir not fekkin coming then? Wasnt he the big French name hinted at by Macca et al?

exiledscouser

1.) 31 Jan 2018 18:22:07
I think that was you, exiledscouser.

2.) 31 Jan 2018 18:22:47
No, it was Myriam Camille Mirabelle Fontaine, but she only came for the cup match and went home again.
Sorry about that mate.

3.) 31 Jan 2018 18:40:15
Thought Macca was hinting at Griezmann, not that such a deal would have happened in a million years. When a team like Barcelona are after you, players tend to join them and reject all other approaches. Just a matter of time until the lad leaves Athletico, question is, when the made scramble begins, which side will get him.

4.) 31 Jan 2018 18:41:27
"I have heard his name mentioned all over twitter so people are aware of the French international, now i hope that helps, but again he will take a lot of persuading .

Cheers

Macca. "

Maybe it was me making 2+2 =5.

5.) 31 Jan 2018 19:30:06
Nice one Olrish haha.

6.) 31 Jan 2018 19:30:58
It was Bernard diomede.

I think on the whole we have made some excellent signings this window. but why oh why is there talk of Agger being sold to Barcelona for £12 million?

We were shaky at the back last season, but with Lovren arriving, I think Daniel could play off him. There is nobody better at reading the game at the back, and Barcelona are trying to steal him. He lives and breathes Liverpool. Come on Brendan, great job so far, but close the door for all offers for Daniel. He must be in the starting lineup!!!

exiledscouser

1.) 28 Jul 2014 09:51:40
Like it or not, BR favors Skrtel over Agger and Sakho and Lovren will be ahead of Agger too.

2.) 28 Jul 2014 10:17:20
To be fair Agger as been poor and gets bullied by a strong striker.

3.) Its hard to say because he is such a nice guy, a loyal man to Liverpool and so comfortable on the ball, but Agger has not developed the way we all hoped he would from when he was 24-25.

Maybe he doesn't suit English football, and would thrive in Spain where it is less physical, but he gets bullied in the air and he isn't the quickest.

Injuries have played a part but we can't play someone who is costing us points, sentiment doesn't come into it.

£12 million seems low admittedly, and I would keep him in the squad rather than sell him for such a low fee, but I don't think he will be first choice next season, and will have to fight to win back a place.

4.) Well said ag.I don't know why everyone thinks its sakho who would play alongside lovren

5.) 28 Jul 2014 11:53:34
Because it will be Pinkman. we signed Lovren partially because he is more comfortable on the right side of the centre back partnership. Skrtel will go if there is a suitable bid.

6.) Why do you think skrtel is ahead of sakho jessie? I really do see a sakho lovren cb partnershop happening.

7.) 12m seems incredibly high given his age, injury record and salary. The latter being something people consistently forget.

Eds. please please please put me out of my misery. surely we are not looking at Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. he is 31 and no better than Lambert.
please tell me its paper talk and I can go for a few scoops tonight a happy bunny!!

exiledscouser

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has expressed an interest.}

1.) 07 Jul 2014 14:33:41
Yes, he will be 31 in August but what is your problem with him? His scoring rate is better than 1 goal in every 2 games and last year his scoring was 2 goals in every three games. If he played 21 games for us and scored 14 he'd represent a very good return.

2.) Maybe not such a bad idea. While many of us are thinking of who to replace Suarez with, Rodgers is probably thinking how to replace Suarez's goals. And this guy is not such a bad bet. Of course he is not as athletic, tricky, fast or mobile but his positioning as a CF has always been very good (his career goals stats clearly prove it). We have enough speed and mobility in other players to get him the ball when he is in critical positions and hopefully score.

3.) Plus if he's no better than Lambert, then as good as would be good enough for me. what's wrong with having a couple of proven goalscorers?

4.) 07 Jul 2014 15:44:23
Hackney , I can see no fault with your logic .

Who do we sell Lambert to , then?

07 Jul 2014 14:01:15
Eds.Same contact tells me we have sneakilly asked about Antoine Griezmann - I am wondering if you guys had heard anything?. would be a great asset

exiledscouser

{Ed002's Note - "Sneakilly"?}

1.) Yeah. as opposed to "officially".

2.) Ian Ayre: Pssst! I shall say this only once! Is Griezman available?

3.) I'm imagining Ian Ayre tiptoeing around Real Sociedad's training ground in a fake mustache and glasses, whisphering and coughing at everyone who happens to pass him.

Ayre: *cough* 10 million and a pot noodle *cough*

4.) This is accurate. Contact was made in the sneakiest way possible,, his agent was in a Nandos toilet in a cubicle,,, Ian Ayre wasted no time at all and slid a note under the door. My source was peering over, stood on the sink.
Not sure what was on the note and if it's a loan or attempt to buy the player but Piri Piri sauce was not part of any agreement between parties

07 Jul 2014 13:11:22
So anyway, the mate of mine who told me about Luciano Vietto being on our radar says he is still a hot topic .anybody heard anything?

exiledscouser

1.) 07 Jul 2014 13:26:38
Not on RADAR, but perhaps on SONAR.

Sorry.

2.) If we are signing Origi there's no chance we will also sign another striker for the future. In fact we are more likely to look at a Huntelaar type who will bridge the gap to Origi & Markovich being ready to perform consistently at a high level.

Ed, can you explain what you mean by "precarious position financially"? - Have we NO money, have we been bought by chancers? ( yet again) According to statistics prodcued, we are around the 8th richest club in Europe, so god help the rest if we are skint. Keep up the good work!

exiledscouser

{Ed002's Note - I have explained the financial position on many occasions. I have no idea what you mean by "richest".}

ED2 - Chill out dude. . . You seem to have it in for BR. Let me educate you - he has revolutionised our style of play with a fast fluent attacking philosophy. Roy was outdated in his role at Anfield and even KIng Kenny wanted Andy Carroll to lump it directly up front. BR may have made a few errors but we are going forward with a true philosophy and its not down to the transfer committee! - I suggest a weekend chill out in New Brighton for you . .

exiledscouser

{Ed002's Note - You seem to misunderstand. I have nothing against him and I have previously explained that I like the guy. Is transfer dealings have failed in 87.5% of the cases. The transfer committee is there to help him. The club is in significant debt, largely because of him. The club is in breach of the FFP regulations again, largely because of him. The younger players that everyone was so excited about are leaving - largely because of him. Understand that if he screws up yet again, he will have to go. Why is the truth hard to take? Given that many Liverpool supporters do nothing but trash past, present and potential future players, why do you feel so protective of the man who has the club in this state?}

This is all the more galling when you see that we are supposedly 12th in the European rich list. I know this isn't about money, its about philosophy, but we have a great chance to qualify for CL football this season. Our squad lacks quality, we seemingly have money and yet we again fail to land our player. Who is this committee anyway? We need to nail these players to a contract that we are chasing rather than let other clubs sneak in because we haven't been quick enough to close

We already have a DM in Kolo Toure. His positional awareness is fabulous and he is a strong boy - I would throw him in
