For those clinging to transfers apparently Matty virtue going on loan to Tranmere.

If we sign fekir. then surely hendo won't start. Milner not getting in that side. Who captains us? Do we have a vice vice captain? Who will be our captain?!

1.) 19 Jul 2018 00:22:06
I think hendo will be first choice still with Fabinho rotating with him.

2.) 19 Jul 2018 00:25:43
Behave Hendo will still be captain and one of the first choices. People forget how many games there is in a season.

3.) 19 Jul 2018 00:36:35
Henderson, Keïta and Fabinho sounds a very solid midfield three to me.

4.) 19 Jul 2018 00:53:41
I like he idea of Fabinho taking up the holding role and allowing Hendo to get back to the box-to-box role he used to fulfill so well for the team - I reckon people will be surprised when reminded of his creativity when in the role.

5.) 19 Jul 2018 01:23:15
I think fabinho will play as right back when Henderson play.

6.) 19 Jul 2018 01:41:10
For about the billionth time, Klopp always gives the armband to whomever on the pitch has been at the club the longest. It’s not even a debate. The English put waay more on the role of a captain than the Germans do. So unless Klopp acknowledges this it will remain a case of time served.

7.) 19 Jul 2018 03:41:16
I think we're making too much of 1st and 2 nd choice. It will probably be about rotation based on who we play. We could see 2 no. 6 with hendo and Fabinho. With one in front. Or the 4-2-3-1 with 2 no. 6. Or the 4-3-3 with 1 no. 6. The best thing about or signings is that we options with top players to fit those options. I can't wait.

8.) 19 Jul 2018 03:51:02
We don’t need Fekir. I personally think we need Hendo. Our attack is potent and I’m content with a midfield 3 of Keita, Fabinho, Hendo. Rotating in Milner, Lallana, and Gini if he stays.

9.) 19 Jul 2018 06:50:20
Stoneage both Lovren and Migs has been at the club longer than Milner. So had Couts but Milner has always been his vice captain.

10.) 19 Jul 2018 08:00:19
If not hendo, big bad vvd. He is a commanding individua!

11.) 19 Jul 2018 08:05:46
Vice vice captain?

Keita? It might make him grow up a bit.
Fabinho? I wouldn’t argue with him.

Like others, I don’t think it matters that much who is captain on the day, club captain has a wider role in the dressing room and beyond IMO 👍.

{Ed001's Note - correct Ron. Club captain is in charge of getting the team together for team bonding, even if it is just sorting out players' bday parties and lad's night outs or days at paintball, it matters as it brings them closer and makes them care more.}

27 Jun 2018 12:38:49
Whatever happens this is the signing of the summer. What a player we got here. Come in number 8.

1.) 27 Jun 2018 13:11:49
Yes Keita! Welcome to lfc son. Can’t wait to see him rip the EPL up and drag us closer to the title next season.

2.) 27 Jun 2018 15:00:58
That shirt looks boss on him. I can't wait to see him in action. The only non Liverpool player I have kept an eye on properly for 2 seasons so I'm really chuft at this signing, I never would've imagined us signing him. It doesn't matter who else comes in. This is our biggest and most important signing imo, the difference he will make will be incredible.

Welcome to Liverpool lad, YNWA.

{Ed002's Note - It is refreshing that he does not want to use Liverpool as a stepping stone to Real Madrid or Barcelona. He needs to sort himself out on and off field and get his act together, and he will be a good asset. Else Liverpool can maybe make a profit by selling him to his dream club Manchester City.}

3.) 27 Jun 2018 15:15:14
Ed you're going to make the site go bloody mental with that last sentence lol. How are you Ed2? hope all is well!

{Ed002's Note - He has not hidden his desire.}

4.) 27 Jun 2018 15:32:14
Liverpool supporter. nothing or no one can put a dampener on this signing. Absolutely terrific player, Klopp factor again.

5.) 27 Jun 2018 15:37:32
But I thought Real Madrid had already bought him off us for twice what we paid?

;-)

6.) 27 Jun 2018 18:01:50
Ed002 did man city ever show any interest in keita?

{Ed002's Note - Not as I recall, but I am in the pub.}

7.) 27 Jun 2018 18:07:45
Ed your the master at trying to wind us up but pretty sure he's a red and couldn't give a toss where he wants to play because he is playing at anfield and that's that.

{Ed002's Note - It is fine, I tell you the truth and it is bile in return.}

8.) 27 Jun 2018 18:48:18
I thought I read somewhere he followed Barcelona as a youngster and Deco was his favourite player. My mrs has been saying my heads been up my arse lately so maybe I was dreaming.

9.) 27 Jun 2018 18:48:55
Well chuffed, type of signing that can be the difference between 1st and 2nd.

10.) 27 Jun 2018 19:03:58
Agreed PH, he really is. We've needed somebody like Keita for a long time.

11.) 27 Jun 2018 19:55:22
I don't think I've ever heard anyone say 'Man City' is their dream club over the age of 10.

12.) 27 Jun 2018 20:12:59
Ed2, where is the boil in any of those posts, everyone acting very mannerly mate, maybe you’ve had one too many in the pub mate lol.

{Ed002's Note - what are you talking about.}

13.) 27 Jun 2018 20:40:07
Pretty sure i heard Robbie Keane say it once.

14.) 27 Jun 2018 20:57:59
Noones giving bile ed. We love you lad.

All I'm saying is I couldn't give to toffees were nabs wants to play because has signed with us and will be playing at anfield regardless. Can dream of city all he wants and if they want to pay 150 mil they can have him.

There struggling abiy yo afford jorginho for 50 mil though so hope nabs doesn't hold out to much for them because they won't be able to afford him.

15.) 27 Jun 2018 21:22:05
"Well chuffed, type of signing that can be the difference between 1st and 2nd. "

We finished fourth!

This guy can be that catalyst though. He could have that Cantona effect IF he has the right players around him.

16.) 27 Jun 2018 21:43:58
To be fair to ed 002 he has said previously he wants to play for city last year.

My question to you is do you think we are seeing players less driven to go to their favourite club due to emotional attachment but more looking for the best financial business decision?

17.) 27 Jun 2018 23:24:30
We could swap him for KDB.

18.) 28 Jun 2018 01:43:43
The only players who describe Man City as their dream club are either mercenaries or Manchester born.

16 Apr 2018 20:29:04
Excuse the ignorance here but have a wierd question. say we get to final on 26th, Ramadan starts on 16th may. Will it not affect mo's performance?

{Ed002's Note - No, he will make minor adjustments to his diet, as will Mane and the others who observe such matters. In the same way he has to train and occasionally play on the Thursday/Friday Sabbath. This is true for many, many, many other players. No different to Christians on Sundays, Star Trek fans on Thursdays, Jews/Seventh Day Adventists on Friday/Saturday and no doubt others who are also easily led that I don't recall right now.}

1.) 16 Apr 2018 20:45:11
Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, or Pastafarianism on a Saturday night.

2.) 16 Apr 2018 20:52:13
Monday is Star Trek day these days Ed002. 🖖🏼.

{Ed002's Note - We are talking 1966 man.}

3.) 16 Apr 2018 21:36:17
The Time Tunnel?

4.) 16 Apr 2018 21:33:27
Does minor adjustment mean not eating for the most of the day ed haha, and whoo Ramadan has come early this year.

{Ed002's Note - Ramadam is a movable feast, like lunch. He won't binge on spam fritters but will likely still eat the usual stuff soccer players do. Any changes will be minor.}

5.) 16 Apr 2018 22:05:28
Thanks for the reply ed, my enquiry is not so much what he's eating as it's probably all chef prepared food using best sports nutrition to make sure he gets the best protein, carbs and macros etc, it's more the timing, in the summer ramadan fasting does last longer throughout the day (something like 3am to around 9am was the par for last year) so when you say minor changes do you refer to timing or content. I think the Algeria 2014 world cup team played while fasting, I'm capable of playing while fasting but it's a killer waiting to break the fast after haha!

{Ed002's Note - No, he will adjust the timing. Players with quirks, be they religious, fussy, odd shaped bodily parts etc., need to suck it up and get on with it if they want a workable career. Else they need to stay in Countries who run leagues that adhere to their fickleness. Clubs are typically respectful of those wishing to worship, watch Star Trek or whatever - and they provide floor space and televisions as required. What they cannot do is allow all of these odd bods to disrupt matters. Clubs are not keen on players seeking any religious (or Star Trek) related clauses in their contracts - and it does happen. Avram Grant is a great example of someone who is pragmatic, he is a keen RSP but knows that his career would have been way different if he didn’t work Shabbat. If Salah were to go to Klopp (a very, very religious guy), and said, “Kafir, I cannot play in the Champions League final, I am too weak. I think you need to respect my religion”, I suspect Klipperty would explain the truth.}

6.) 16 Apr 2018 23:17:29
There are ways around it with some top imams suggesting making up the fast days at a different time if not making the athletes immune al together.

{Ed002's Note - And hobgoblins and wizards no doubt.}

7.) 17 Apr 2018 00:55:55
I doubt Salah will do that! I mean it's a Drem for all footballers right? If somehow Salah scores the highest amount of goals in world cup for Egypt I suspect he might become world player of the year😃.

8.) 17 Apr 2018 07:29:18
You don't have to fast when you're traveling. Champions league final is not in Liverpool so he won't need to fast on the day.

9.) 17 Apr 2018 07:52:05
Its a 7 45 kick off fasting is from sunrise to sunset. This won't be his first ramadan during football season and im sure he knows perfectly how to adjust his routine.

In some cases sportsman do not fast on that particular day and make up for it later.

But I would not worry about it, him Mane Klopp and the whole coaching staff will know what to do. This will not be, as they say, their first rodeo.

10.) 17 Apr 2018 01:08:48
"Kafir, i cannot play in the champions league final"

haha ed002 you really crack me up man. really lost it on this one. good day man.

11.) 17 Apr 2018 08:36:00
Maybe its me but im getting a distinct feeling that Ed002 is not a religious man?

12.) 17 Apr 2018 15:23:26
Ed002 is a sorcerer (as we have seen over the years) so clearly not a fan of religion. He's actually a witch if you observe carefully.

29 Jan 2018 14:18:41
Is Harry Wilson likely to sign a new deal. with klopps admission of no more signings id love to see him given a chance. Would rather see a Woodburn Wilson or ejaria than captain can in the team any day.

{Ed002's Note - No idea.}

1.) 29 Jan 2018 15:02:40
I have to say, I do think Wilson deserves some game time, off the bench at least.
It's just hard to start him as we have 3 attackers of the highest order (maybe if Mane keeps playing as poorly as he is though, he'll get a chance) .
He has blitzed the U-23 league game after game when fit, I'd have to ask what more can he do to force a chance or two?!
Of course it's a bit of a step up, but the only way to see if he can adapt it to give him a chance.

I also think Woodburn could also be given a run or two off the bench if we're up a couple of goals with a few mins to go.

Danny Ward's situation for me is a no-brainer, Mignolet needs to be removed from the squad for now at least and Ward installed as 2nd choice until Karius shows he's either too good or too bad - no rotation until then.

Lallana is not dead wood. people have short memories of how good he was before his injury. out of sight out of mind. he's going to have a part to play this season and all you lot who think he's crap will eat your words.

{Ed0333's Note - I disagree I think he’s gonna fade away into obscurity

Shaquiri did not play out wide he played centrally and drifted out left at times. Klopp trying a different position for him.

Average is very very harsh. He was a decent player that tried really hard and deserves better than that.
