Extremely happy.

{Ed025's Note - would the first transaction be 40 pieces of silver?..

2.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 15:59:53
Delighted. As a fan why wouldn’t you want to see us compete financially with city and others. Not my concern where the money comes from.

{Ed025's Note - wow. Morals have certainly gone out of the window..

3.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 16:15:10
I would be really disappointed. Unfortunately as has been pointed out to me most people or companies that have the money to buy a football club are usually pretty damn evil!

The game has not changed for the better and I dread to think what it will look like in 20 years time.

If you can’t beat them join them Bmena-red.

Is there a trophy for who sticks by their morals the most Ed?

{Ed025's Note - there is actually mr bean. It’s called the conscience cup. The final is held at the “how can you sleep at night”arena mate..

OP, not sure Klopp will be here if that happens. He clearly has NO time for state-owned clubs. Just saying.

7.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 16:42:45
It it's all about trophies and buying new players, why don't some of you follow another team?
This is the club of Shankly, Paisley, Dalglish, Klopp, Anne Williams etc etc.

8.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 16:47:52
massively happy tbh, no point people trying to be sat on a high moral horse when theirs none in the game from ownership or organisations like Fifa and UEFA, just with the Newcastle owners had waited a few more months to buy us instead.

9.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 16:47:53
Personally speaking, trying to relax and enjoy any future successes would be compromised if I knew that our owners had had someone chopped to bits and stuffed in a suitcase for writing something they disagreed with. Or had people thrown off the top of high buildings because they were gay. I totally understand that there's a sense of desperate need to keep up with our rivals spending power, but you've got to draw a line somewhere. I shouldn't think there's a long list of ethical billionaire LFC fans sitting around waiting to buy us, but I'm totally not into the idea of an oppressive medieval monarchy owning our club.

10.) 07 Nov 2022

I'd be very unhappy, we shouldn't be associating with people who want to sportwash working immigrants to death.

Would I stop supporting the club over it? I don't think I'd be able to, I'm 36 and supported the club since I was 8 (or possibly younger, I can't remember) . As with all of us, it's been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I don't think I could just switch that off. I could pretend to, but really I wouldn't. And certainly if I somehow stopped supporting Liverpool I'd just stop watching club football altogether. I have no interest when I don't support one of the teams.

Does it make me a hypocrite that I wouldn't cease my support of the club if I thought the owners were reprehensible? Maybe it does. But that's what it is.

I'm afraid that it has already, by and large, got to the point of money determining titles - look at the money spent by Real Madrid/ Barcelona/ City/ Chelsea/ Utd over the last two decades and where the majority of big titles have landed.

It is clear that what Leicester and to a lesser degree LFC did recently will become all the more infrequent over the coming decades.

It appears to me that it is not the first 11 which counts anymore, but the depth of the squad. When LFC lose a number of key players, performances noticeably deteriorate, whereas this is not the case with those clubs who can purchase 2 or more large value players for each position on the pitch. It is just the reality of the game now.

So, the question is how do you really compete at the top table without largely unlimited funds? Well, without Klopp I do not believe that we would have won the Premier League or Champions League. So are we happy to do well and occasionally finish in top 4 or do we have to revert to the evils of oil money to continue with the top prizes?

I don't often agree with Ed2 ;-) but i have to say I wish we could continue with what he have and how we operate today.

What do the majority think?

YNWA.

Good to see some people are gleeful about the prospect.

FSG are obviously so bad that we'd not only tolerate journalist murderers and the like in charge in order to see JWH and co booted out, we'd welcome them like excited children at Christmas.

Unbelievable.

14.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 17:07:39
Truth is, something has to happen.
We can’t even afford to buy a player without sales.

15.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 17:17:15
It was said on here the other day that it was pointless
Talking about transfers as we had no say on them.

Do we have any say on new owners?

It’s a very good question and if it was a Middle Eastern take over I wonder what percentage of the worldwide fans would be unhappy and show it and how many wouldn’t.

If there were demonstrations around Anfield then I guess the worldwide fans wouldn’t have a say. It would be the locals.

And whether potential owners with that amount of money actually care.

Does City, Newcastle and PSG owners concern themselves with fans opinions. I don’t know it’s a question ??‍♂️.

16.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 17:33:27
We won't be getting any oil money it will be someone on same level as fsg and we have to cherry pic from what city Newcastle man u don't want.
Makes it more fun can build something and see it flourish.

17.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 17:54:59
Something red, it’s a bit hypocritical to say that when you have just said that if one of these journalist murdering states or immigrant abusive states bought LFC, you would still support the club!

18.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 17:55:14
Ed025 don't be soo naive as to if it matters who buys the club and having some moral righteousness. What difference do you think it makes LOL. do they have to have the same politics as you to be the right owners? You think many fans are happy having far left Marxism down their neck now that's enforced? Quatar/ Iran etc. I believe like many that the UK and US are far worse than those countries. They've done far worse, over throwing governments, funding bankers wars, millions of Iraqis dead but I mean it was for "freedom "right. Honestly laughable.

{Ed025's Note - whether or not it matters is down to personal conscience I suppose cookie. If you believe that human rights don’t matter then I suppose it’s fine mate…. Personally I don’t..

19.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 18:03:53
Journalist murderers? Seems a pot kettle black moment here.
The UK and Europe has taken part in how many wars with the USA? Many proven to be fuelled by fake news. lies to the public to invade kill and steal, oil, opium gold.

Taking part directly or indirectly with torture, Guantanamo bay comes to mind. Supplying arms to Israel who has broken all known laws in its murder and apartheid of the Palestinian people.

To suggest we have a moral right to look down on. Criticise other nations and their potential investors on our club. Is hypocritical at the very least.

Bring on the Arabs. YNWA.

{Ed025's Note - try and justify it anyway you want kayibey. Some will think it’s wrong and some just don’t care mate.

20.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 18:15:51
I'm with you on this one Ed 25.

{Ed025's Note - I think Liverpool are better than that Mic. Having standards and a moral compass is nothing less than I would expect of a club of your stature mate..

21.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 18:16:52
Someone tell about a morally inclined billionaire. FSG have sponsorship deals with Israeli war funded entities that oppress Palestine. Do your own research first before throwing the moral card.

22.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 18:16:43
The problem with morality is it’s often selective.

We tend to pick and choose when our morality is important to us.

How many people will be banging on about conditions for workers at the Qatar World Cup as they are tweeting from an IPhone? See Gary Neville as an example of World Cup hypocrisy.

You could go on and on.

I would be disappointed if Liverpool were purchased by somebody questionable but would I walk away from the club? No I wouldn’t. Although unlike some I don’t believe success should come at absolutely any cost.

23.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 18:24:51
Ed0025 not condoning anything mate but where was Evertons moral compass when they had Russian oligarch (blood) money thrown at them.

{Ed025's Note - how much usminov was involved is conjecture JK. But I’m not happy and do not condone it if he was mate. Not much I can do about it I suppose..

24.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 18:27:10
If we had oil rich owners we'd be absolutely slated in the press everywhere. Ok for all the others though eh.
But something needs to happen agreed. Just feels like another investor to come in and be in same position with lack of funding on squad but them to make profits on their investment.

25.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 18:37:23
It’s very true Wassa, everyone is very selective when it comes to morality. All you can do is try your best to be an honest, respectful person but you can’t influence many issues so you should just focus on what you can control. Every multi billionaire will have had morality issues.

{Ed025's Note - spot on mark..

26.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 18:42:30
I’ll support the players on the pitch even new expensive ones but I wouldn’t let a shiny new player distract me from off the field issues.

27.) 07 Nov 2022

KayiBey - Please give me the list of journalists that John Henry has had killed.

I can wait.

28.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 19:23:11
We can't all bash city and Newcastle for oil money and then possibly get it and look like a Cheshire cat and turn a blind eye.

In pure football terms its the only way to compete long term but as a club and a brand, do we really want to be associated with it?

Unfortunately there is very little growth from an investment point of view. People that have time and money would be better off building up a smaller club, their returns would potentially bigger and come with a smaller risk due to the initial outlay.

It's 30 pieces of silver Ed025. Starting to think you're not the Godly man I thought you were.

{Ed025's Note - inflation burkey mate.. ?

31.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 20:12:08
I dislike billionaire tech-bro worship generally and anyone who has that much money got it by stepping on a lot of other people on the way. I personally don't want them, but they're obviously less objectionable than the Saudi or Qatari sovereign funds.

I'd have concerns about the competency of both Musk and Zuckerberg given how well Twitter and Meta are going right now.

32.) 07 Nov 2022
07 Nov 2022 23:18:50
My ideal owner would be Red Bird and Red Bull buying us together so not much changes in how we run things but Red Bird provide more money and Red Bull provide us with quality players at reasonable prices from our new feeder teams. I'm joking as I don't actually expect this to happen but I'm only half-joking as i think it would actually be pretty cool and is better than being owned by some state. I want us to continue to be clever!

33.) 08 Nov 2022
08 Nov 2022 02:39:54
I’d be disgusted, but not surprised. Let’s not pretend FSG are anything other than a hedge fund looking to profit from their investment. If they accepted an offer from a Qatari regime then it is basically the final nail in the clubs coffin. You cannot push for justice for the 97 who died of n Hillsboro one minute, then turn a blind eye to the thousands who are oppressed and killed via the Qatari regime the next, just because you can buy a few more players in the transfer market. I’d rather be a mid table club - hell a relegated club - with principles, than a top club that’s built on the oppression and suffering of others. There are things more important than football, and more important than money, at least to me.
