According to sky sports, the daily express is saying that Real Madrid are going to bid £41m to wrap up a deal for mbappe…. surely that can’t be true? If it is, why don’t we do an Arsenal and bid £41m and 1p for him? For that price, he would be bargain of the century! Lol.

KloppisTopp

{Ed002's Note - The player wants to move to Real Madrid.}

1.) 05 Jan 2022 08:32:19
Plus the 25 billion per week for his wages and the millions for his agent too I guess?

{Ed077's Note - also wouldn't Robert Lewandowski on a "free" from Dortmund to Bayern at his peak leading them to a treble be just as good if not better bargain deal??

2.) 05 Jan 2022 08:33:16
Even if he wanted to come to us and he only cost 41m we still couldn’t afford him!

3.) 05 Jan 2022 09:58:15
With any luck it will kill off that stupid “Mbappe to Liverpool” stuff that goes around.

4.) 05 Jan 2022 11:18:18
£41 million for Mbappe? Which leg does that buy?

{Ed077's Note - bootleg??

5.) 05 Jan 2022 11:56:43
It would have to be Ed, a complete jarg version.

{Ed077's Note - probably.

6.) 05 Jan 2022 14:30:35
Flash the red, you do know he's free in the summer🤔.

7.) 05 Jan 2022 17:57:14
Once again, it depends what you mean by “free” doesn’t it?

8.) 05 Jan 2022 20:01:28
Bootleg Mbappe? Is that Kevin Mbappe?

9.) 06 Jan 2022 10:43:48
Mbappe might be free in the summer, but his signing on fee won't. And neither will his wages.
I'd love to see him in a red shirt, but unless he was going to accept a realistic wage by our standards (which he won't) then it's just wishful thinking.

Champions league for next season is over!

KloppisTopp

1.) 20 May 2023 17:24:05
yep, even before today I never thought we would make it. we have been bang average and not good enough.

2.) 20 May 2023 17:26:47
Techically, not yet.

3.) 20 May 2023 17:41:08
Nah ArAy, I don't think United will bottle things that hard.

I mean, it'd be beyond hilarious if they did, but I don't think it's on.

4.) 20 May 2023 17:48:08
SR, for them to lose the next 2 games? You're probably right but I have seen stranger things in football.

5.) 20 May 2023 17:52:42
Its over, a draw is enough for them.

6.) 20 May 2023 19:47:47
Draw would be enough but it ain’t over till it’s over.

They’ve got to get over the line, if the get beat midweek then pressure is on last game of the season.

I like to think the football gods may have a mitrovic at old Trafford vengeance pencilled in.

7.) 21 May 2023 07:58:08
À lot if us were just pushing to see what happens. Both Utd and Newcastle were in the driver’s seats and we all knew that even while we were pushing. We got what our season deserved. On to Europa where we should b looking to win it.

31 Jan 2023 20:51:21
I think it’s safe to that we are not going to be progress past Real Madrid in the champions league, and we certainly aren’t going to make top four nor europa league either for next season. What an absolute shambles!

KloppisTopp

1.) 31 Jan 2023 21:00:47
Well klopp choose to not sign anyone else even though the money was available so he will have to live with the out come. It’s not very often I’d disagree with Klopp but I do think this is a huge mistake.

2.) 31 Jan 2023 21:21:30
We are having bad season but what a spineless attitude, throwing in the towel before a ball has even been kicked. Absolutely gutless.

3.) 31 Jan 2023 21:22:11
it feels to me klopp has literally let this season up to now pass us by like it is perfectly normal and personally I hope every single liverpool fan finds this totally unacceptable, we have been at the very top of the world but its criminal not too fight to stay at the top.

4.) 31 Jan 2023 21:22:51
Why do you believe ed02 and don't believe Klopp when he says we're not like Man City and Chelsea.

5.) 31 Jan 2023 21:31:17
First world problems, eh?

6.) 31 Jan 2023 21:34:15
2 points off sixth place. 2 games in hand on fitfth place, and its tottenham. Top four will be tricky but its possible still.

7.) 31 Jan 2023 21:36:12
Money available? Where are you getting that from? You F$G fanboys are like brexiteers, can’t admit you’ve been mugged off by millionaires/ billionaires so double down in your support for them rather than turn on the people who’ve duped you.

8.) 31 Jan 2023 21:44:19
We bought Gakpo in January.

9.) 31 Jan 2023 21:51:11
@Rigsby, stop introducing facts into mate - wrong place and wrong time ….

10.) 31 Jan 2023 22:08:03
If money is available we might as well stop looking for investors.

Will be interesting to see how the rest of this season plays out on and off the pitch.

11.) 31 Jan 2023 22:54:33
Money available hahahaha. Why are we looking for investors. Gakpo was bought because he was cheap and will have huge sell on value if he comes good. But I agree with W, these F$G fanboys are unbearable.

12.) 01 Feb 2023 04:37:12
I've seen far worse liverpool sides beat far better teams.

21 Jan 2023 09:56:53
Just putting it out there…. do you think we will buy anyone before the window closes? All the teams above are looking to or have strengthened this window, with Chelsea clearly committed to buying the title but even Man Utd and arsenal are actively looking and from the sounds of it, will be in the market at some point. Just concerned that it’s unlikely that we will get any form of european football next season, based on our current form and available players so the quality of player we attracted will also be impacted.

KloppisTopp

1.) 21 Jan 2023 10:30:47
We will be ok top 4 still on I still fancy us to finish 2nd behind city.

{Ed025's Note - you are underestimating arsenal and utd there john..

2.) 21 Jan 2023 10:33:49
In 1 word. NO.

3.) 21 Jan 2023 10:42:52
No I don’t! We’ll be saving for the summer I think.

4.) 21 Jan 2023 11:32:52
I don’t think so. I think our business is done for this window apart from maybe a loan departure or two.

5.) 21 Jan 2023 11:55:47
We already bought Gakpo this window. So I guess the answer to OPs question is yes?

6.) 21 Jan 2023 12:13:02
I’m with you John mate, maybe misguided, but if we can get a run going, think we will make up the ground quite quickly.

7.) 21 Jan 2023 12:43:20
People actually think we'll finish 2nd? we're 20 points behind arsenal.
we won't be past 7th I don't think.

8.) 21 Jan 2023 14:32:46
Scouse John give it a rest now mate. I admired your optimism 3 months ago when it was clear to me we had serious issues. Sometimes you just have to accept reality. There’s not a hope in hell this squad gets second.

30 Oct 2022 15:28:43
So we lose to forest and arsenal are hammering them, just goes to show how far we have fallen! It’s so frustrating watching a team that nearly won the quadruple last season to being cannon fodder for the rest of the premier league.

KloppisTopp

1.) 30 Oct 2022 15:47:00
I was just about to post a similar thing, what a difference a season makes hey. we need to stop the nearly quadruple winners thing though. We didn't time to move on.

2.) 30 Oct 2022 15:52:21
We were not great last year, let teams take the lead a few times and also had a few dodgy games (Brentford) failed to score in domestic cup finals. We’re rubbish in cl final. This has been coming just so many couldn’t see it.

3.) 30 Oct 2022 16:31:26
We won 2 finals, got to another and 2nd in the League. Overall we were great, but I guess you can spin anything if you really want, eh Mr Bean?

4.) 30 Oct 2022 16:57:53
When we had the chance to beat spurs to go first in league we bottled it rover, same against city we were rubbish. Were poor in both final, all fluff and pump zero end product. Had no gears to go up in the cl final and lost.

Plenty of poor results through the campaign which ultimately cost us, city never in doubt of winning it towards the end they actually have gears.

We laboured through so many games but fans don’t see that they just see a 2-1 win or 1-0.

5.) 30 Oct 2022 17:16:56
Cannon fodder ?.
They only see 2-1 and 1-0, Beany?
Oh my, how spoiled we are!

6.) 30 Oct 2022 18:51:07
Liverpool lost less points than City from Jan in the League run in, scored 5 less goals, conceded the same amount of goals. So if Liverpool were winning games 1-0, 2-1 then City must have done the same. Where are the City gears you talk of?

7.) 30 Oct 2022 19:33:56
Most teams will beat Forest easy enough this season. Arsenal are better than us but teams who aren’t better than us have and will beat them comfy.

8.) 30 Oct 2022 20:00:54
Does the league start in January does it rover?

The gears I’m referring to is when it really matters, us against spurs and city at the end of the league. Then madrid in the final

City’s gears were evident towards the end of the league campaign spurs rescuing a point and villa coming from 2-0 down to win.

9.) 30 Oct 2022 20:01:53
Sorry wasn’t spurs it was West Ham.

10.) 31 Oct 2022 21:13:43
League doesn't start in January. it also doesn't end in October.

11 Aug 2022 14:20:15
Hi Ed’s, I hope you are all well and enjoying the cracking weather we are having. I have a quick question on Darwin Nunez…. what do you think of him based on his performance in the community shield and against Fulham? I think there is a top quality goal scorer there but he is not the finished article. From the games I have seen (including preseason), it looked like he has a first poor touch. But despite this, he has still managed to score and cause defences problems. What is your take on him? Thanks.

KloppisTopp

{Ed001's Note - far too soon to judge as a poor first touch is common early in the season when players are not match sharp. It might simply be that.}

1.) 11 Aug 2022 17:29:42
I can see Nunez and Jota forming a strong partnership
Diaz will be a beast for both of them.
Salah will continue to rip it up
Firmino I genuinely hope he finds the form we all know he has.

2.) 12 Aug 2022 07:30:17
KloppisTropp or whatever your name is…
Poor first touch? Don’t make me laugh. Ryan Babel had a poor first touch as did Andy Carroll. Darwin’s first two goals are testament to his ability. If your basis is the off touch for the Salah goal, it’s quite clear he wasn’t expecting the ball.

3.) 12 Aug 2022 10:54:38
KloppisTopp, is that all you got? A poor first touch? You're reaching here, IMO. Did you see the way he executed that difficult skill twice before scored the first equalizer vs Fulham? Again you're reaching here, man.

Also regarding poor first touches, you do remember how useless Mo Salah's touch was when he first arrived, right? Give the kid a break, man. Darwin has started well for us. Let's encourage him to do more instead nitpicking over a poor first touch here and there.

4.) 12 Aug 2022 11:58:57
I think if you want to see poor first touches then watch amateur weekend football.

At the top end of professional football (all sports) there’s no such thing as poor. There’s just better.

As in some players will have World class first touch and others will have amazing or excellent. Because the bar is set so high it’s easy to compare someone who is excellent to someone who is world class and say they are poor.

I thought endo played well. Didn’t take risks, was just a solid performance, and that’s all could ask of him seeing it’s his first start in premier league game!

Chelsea are, allegedly the caicedo deal is spread over 8 years with the option for another year so potentially 9 years, that’s what I read at least!

KloppisTopp

{Ed002's Note - That is not the payments. You are all getting very embarrassing. Truly ridiculous now.}

We are running out of time and options, seeing as we clearly had money in the bank, why were being so frugal when making bids for lavia? We should have just offered the £50m and lavia was keen to join us, we could have moved on to another target. Instead we are still trying salvage the caicedo deal. But Now it looks like Chelsea are going to get both caicedo and Lavia!

According to reports, Brighton are furious with caicedo’s agent for changing things last minute, when they have made it perfectly clear that the deadline for bids was Thursday…. and yet his agent was still trying to see what Chelsea wanted to do. Sounds like all he was after was large agent fee and caicedo a large signing on fee and salary! What a bunch of mercenaries!

I actually think konate is our best player, vvd has lost it since he came back from his injury. Yes konate has made mistakes but vvd seems to have a mistake in him every time the ball his hit long by the opposition.

Gakpo is new to the league and is being played out of position so I don’t know why people are blaming him. Nunez on the other hand, clearly has potential but will that potential be realised? Because he couldn’t score in a brothel at the moment. As for Salah, I genuinely believe he isn’t bothered any more. At the least the other two make an effort. Hendo and Milner, as good a servant they have been to the club, they don’t have the legs anymore. Our youngsters are talented but too lightweight, as for our defence, gomez and matip, as should have been sold. Instead we sell mane who I feel wanted to stay but realised that he would always play second fiddle to salah and clearly wasn’t appreciAted enough (wasn’t he one of the lowest earners in the first 11?) . I’d rather play Nat Phillips than either of gomez or matip, he’s basic but in times like this, you need to get back to basics. Additionally if these are ljinders tactics that we are using, then he needs to go, and klopp needs to stop effing around, pull his thumb out his @rse, and sort the team out himself. If that means dropping established players than so be it but he needs to get tough with this team now.

KloppisTopp

{Ed001's Note - Mane had asked to go, he has done this at every club he has been at, what on earth makes you think he wanted to stay?}

Everton beat arsenal today and they in a relegation battle. If we lose against that team, then some decisions need to be made.

Oh mane, I’d rather we buy a couple of decent midfield players, sort our form out and get champions league football, having the same owners in place. For a team like us, champions league football is vital as it’s provides much wanted revenue for the club and is also a big selling point when trying to convince top players to join us.

Sorry but nunez’ dribbling and crossing skills are terrible (on top of his finishing skills) are currently terrible. So putting him on the left would be a bad idea. I’d rather have him play through the middle with gakpo on the left and salah on the right.
