With Kelleher apparently wanting more game time and possibly moving on, Ed’s do you know of any replacements being looked at?

Specifically Theo Sander, highly regarded and the right age to come of age as Allison gets older.

Manorbourne

{Ed002's Note - Bart Verbruggen (G) If promoted, Burnley will move for the player. Agent has offered the player to Spurs and others as his chances of ousting Van Crombrugge are slim and he wants first team football. Liverpoool, knowing that Caoimhin Kelleher will likely leave to get more game time, have sent scouts to watch him. Southampton were looking at the player last season but went on to sign Gavin Bazuno, and that has worked out well. Go Ahead Eagles failed with a bid last summer.}

Who is Van Crombrugge if he has a better chance of ousting Allison? ?.

2.) 08 May 2023 17:31:50
Hello ed2 hope u well. u said recently that pitagluca ( brazilian young keeper, spelling of his name prob wrong) is being eyed by Atletico. I presume u mean Atletico madrid and if so he must be quite highly rated? Would he be capable of being no.2 next season?

{Ed002's Note - Yes Atletick Madrid.}

3.) 08 May 2023 17:46:47
Thanks for the info Ed002. You meantioned Ron Robert Ziegle a few weeks ago - he has the added advantage of being classified as home grown.

Is he still a possibility? I figured him as 2/ 3 choice to help with Pitaluga's development rather than pushing Alisson.

{Ed002's Note - I don't recall mentioning him in terms of Liverpool.}

4.) 08 May 2023 18:49:18
Why would Pitaluga go to AM to be in the reserves, instead of being here?
Also Ed's, any chance that Qweem could be used as a bargaining chip with Brighton as they seem keen on him.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool do not offer a route to the first team. I don't know who Qweem is and Liverpool are not in discussions with Brighton.}

Provided we keep up the work being done in the academy - Kelleher, Pitulaga, Davies to name but three of the current crop of youngsters coming through, I don’t really see an issue.

We have, debatably the best goalkeeper in the world and certainly one of the top half dozen, so he remains first choice for the foreseeable future. We bring the youngsters through, play them in games of, shall we say, lesser consequence and have them in and around the first team squad. If the youngsters want to kick on and try to establish themselves as first choice elsewhere then - again assuming the academy system maintains the excellent work - good luck to the lads.

6.) 10 May 2023 09:17:24
Selling Kelleher and bringing in Zieler as number two would be terrible business. Zieler is seriously error prone and makes shocking mistakes.

7.) 10 May 2023 14:42:42
Wonder would Kelleher stay if we had non CL european football probably an extra 10 games minimum for him. Alisson misses the odd game here and there so id like him to stay as cover but can see from our side and his why he’d move on.

So with our favourite “feeder” club (I use loosely) going down, which current Southampton players would you think good options to add to the squad?

Bella-Kotchap definitely, but anyone else?

A back to fitness Liveramento? Sulemana looks like one that could develop

Thoughts on any Robertson type “bargains” you’d like to see?

Manorbourne

{Ed001's Note - Lavia is the only definite surely? He is head and shoulders above the rest of their team.}

1.) 01 May 2023 18:23:11
Isn’t he on a city buy back clause Ed001?

{Ed001's Note - that doesn't mean he has to go back.}

2.) 01 May 2023 19:05:02
Lavia looks great and home grown too, what do you reckon happens with Fabinho ed? any interest in him> i can't see the benefit of keeping him underperforming for another season while his value continues to fall.

{Ed001's Note - I expect Fabinho to stay.}

3.) 01 May 2023 21:17:28
Didn’t Ed02 say we are looking to replace him?

{Ed002's Note - Yes, but it doesn’t mean he will leave. But Latvia has not been of interest to Liverpool.}

4.) 02 May 2023 11:47:46
Lavia is the real deal. I watched him vs Arsenal and the Emirates and took Partey to school. In fact, none of their mids could get near him as he was that good. I wouldn't mind him but we aren't interested so I'll survive.

Lindstrom was being mentioned a lot here a few weeks ago. Just signed for Napoli, could have been a player we could have looked to if Mo does go. Never really confirmed though that or if he was a target.

Schlotterbeck for me, but would be happy with either. Is Wirtz still looking likely to Bayern (future) surprised his name don’t get mentioned more frequently.

Smith-Rowe anyone? can’t see him getting too many minutes at Arsenal. Not saying he’s available or even looked at by us. Wouldn’t be a bad squad addition in my mind.

1st time I’ve seen Schlotterbeck given a mention on here, would be a great signing

Whatever happened to the other young CB at dortmund. Was tipped for big things a couple years ago, French lad, Zagadou I think it was?

WDW3 I had that same opinion pretty much wrote out earlier but thought the post would be too long and removed, without FSG people forget where we might have been now and with the infrastructure spend and increased revenues they are protecting our future. Sound business planning in my mind.

You got to think something is in the works other than Lavia

Goretzka, kimmich or wirtz level signing for the midfield and a bit of young versatility like Hickey, Geertruida or Daniel Beukers and I’d be almost happy but think that’s still 1 short

Mac alister and szbozslai though are great additions in my mind so far.

With Caicedo also playing this inverted cm to rb role and De Zerbi saying both him and Mc Allister will be leaving, do the Ed’s think he might be a possibility with him and trent filling in for each other and giving them the freedom knowing the others covering, essentially switching positions with each other during the game in or out of possession?

Manorbourne

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Pep has said if they win the treble he may leave…. before the guilty verdict comes in?

If so and there’s sanctions, will 5th take a CL spot if they get the Juve treatment we hope for ? (clutching)

Manorbourne

{Ed002's Note - Rubbish.}

Reminds me of a Jordan Ibe who actually got minutes to progress, but I think Eze has reached his potential right now.
