Guy’s, it’s being reported that Ref Oliver has been suspended indefinitely, after the match against next door.

Anyone got anything on this?

Kew17

1.) 18 Feb 2025 20:50:37
By suspended you mean given a brown envelope a big pat on the back from mr webb and mr coote with guarantee of refereeing more title decides this season? Someone is pulling your leg.

2.) 19 Feb 2025 00:55:11
There’s nothing in it. But if you did want to see how rubbish PGMOL are, do note that the referee for Liverpool v City is Anthony Taylor from Manchester. A known United supporter. PGMOL isn’t fit for purpose.

3.) 19 Feb 2025 01:13:19
One thing I’ll give him credit for, it takes some effort to be the most unlikeable Mr Oliver in a country where Jamie exists.

4.) 19 Feb 2025 04:19:29
Long gone are the days when a good referee wasn't even noticeable on the pitch. Now most games they are the talking points even with video review to bail them out.

5.) 19 Feb 2025 09:16:58
Just to add, if Ed’s has knowledge on this would appreciate input - Is there still a case (reported YouTube), regarding the Ref and Notts Forest game? If so any idea when it’s going to be addressed? Infantano I believe has stated LFC should get the 3 points.

What’s the possible outcome in your opinion Ed?

Do you see the possibility of similar happening (case) regarding Oliver (as he now suspended indefinitely) for similar reasons?

{Ed001's Note - I really have no idea what you are talking about. Oliver has been heavily criticised but Webb has publicly backed him and, unless something has changed in the last few hours, he is in charge of Villa - Chelsea at the weekend.}

6.) 19 Feb 2025 09:47:46
It’s amazing how laissez-faire the FA and the Premier League are regarding the sub-standard state of referees in English football. Since VAR was introduced, referees have got worse instead of better.

Is it endemic of the level of corruption throughout football, where nobody wants to cast the first stone?

7.) 19 Feb 2025 10:42:58
A United supporter reffing a City v Liverpool game? Who does he favour there Viktor?

8.) 19 Feb 2025 14:24:02
I’d imagine Taylor would still put hating Liverpool over City, Irish. We live rent free in their heads.

9.) 19 Feb 2025 14:37:14
It's listed online that he's a Newcastle fan. So still a United fan but a different United.

10.) 19 Feb 2025 15:00:27
@Dracred, it's Oliver that is the Newcastle fan. Taylor apparently supports Altrincham, despite being born 6 miles from Old toilet.

11.) 19 Feb 2025 15:00:53
Michael Oliver is a Newcastle United fan, Anthony Taylor claims to support Altrincham, which is about as plausible as David Cooke’s apology or Darren England’s VAR excuse for the spurs debacle, he’s a United fan, no one can tell me that a manc who grew up within 5 or 6 miles of old toilet during their so called glory days isn’t one.

12.) 19 Feb 2025 17:08:18
Taylor is not a known man utd supporter, where do ye get this ?, he has regularly reffed utd games and they actually hate him and say his decisions continuously go against them, Had a lad just say it to me in work today.

{Ed001's Note - isn't his family all City season ticket holders?}

13.) 19 Feb 2025 17:29:13
Ed1 is that libellous? Lol.

{Ed001's Note - I am pretty sure I read somewhere his family are City season ticket holders but it is claimed he is an Altrincham fan. I am just unconvinced by either as there is no way a whole family has City season tickets, it would double their actual gate if they did. Probably more chance of him really being an Altrincham fan than there is of his family having City season tickets.}

14.) 19 Feb 2025 19:01:23
Regardless of who the referee supports, you should never have anyone from the same city refereeing the teams in the same city for example it's like international games fancy england playing scotland with an english referee and vice versa!

Apply it that Taylor does not referee any city or man utd game full stop. London refs don't referee London teams home or away, and the teams they support. oliver does not referee newcastle games or the team he supports. Same applies to linesmen/ fourth officials, even VAR.

PMGOL too tight to pay for match officials from other countries.

15.) 20 Feb 2025 01:45:31
Ahh, got it. I thought we were all talking about Oliver. Didn't realise that Taylor got snuck into the conversation as well. Have to admit that I don't really pay attention to who is the referee to our games though. They're all equally poor.

Hi Eds, Mail reported that Smith Rowe from Arsenal is possibly on the move,

Do we have an interest at all?

Also if possible your opinion on the player, his stock was high, so I’m surprised if this is true he may be on the move.

Kew17

{Ed002's Note - No, Liverpool has no interest in him.}

Hi Ed’s, I’m curious to know if LFC have looked at Arnau Martinez of Girona (Spain), at 19 a Defender that can play left or right back, uses 2 feet and can cover as a DM too,

I saw the kid surrounded by 3 Barcelona players whilst on the floor and still got his head to the ball to avert the imminent danger. Also curious to know your thoughts on the kid Ed’s looked good player to me (I lack knowledge) .
Tx Ed’s.

Kew17

{Ed002's Note - No, Liverpool has no interest and he will likely be heading elsewhere in the summer.}

1.) 12 Apr 2023 13:47:00
Thank you Ed, what’s your thoughts regarding the kid?

{Ed002's Note - I don't have any thoughts about him but the person I asked for an update said he is very well thought of.}

2.) 12 Apr 2023 15:53:05
Thanks again Ed great stuff.

Any info re Latauro Martinez? Is he a non starter or a back up plan should Isak not happen?

Kew17

1.) 16 Jun 2025 21:22:19
From various reports on social media, it looks like Isak is still the main priority but if not possible due to the finances, then please read the article on this website titled, ”Desperate Scousewives” for further valuable info! ?.

Guy’s, wasn’t Crazy Horse a LB for a stint too? I liked Alberto M, he loved the club, but he didn’t have the composure imo.

Cannot disagree with some of the names above, I met Stevie Staunton (I wish I never) .

Fermin normally comes on and is attacking mid centrally, if correct normally a 10 when used, as he is direct, really can’t see how we improve or fit him in.

Why? He’s a 10 we appear to be signing Wirtz, so no from me, besides, I think they want him, jumped through hoops to register him although it’s their own fault.

I would (cos u not get a big name) sign through swap or purchase from Barcelona is Cardaso, central mid no6 type, he’s young, Barcelona B captain, great touch, passing - forward balls too, tackle.

Gavi? He maybe going (although taken care of this season due to his ACL), pedri we will not get.

I’m a little bit on Ron side, different reason, I wonder if the Horror at the Parade, could influence families of potential players wanting to join us, in jeopardy.

So re the above posts, numbers suggest it’s a very good idea to have a Scot.

Poor lad Bradley, no one is placing him in their team, not at RB or RWB, I know we have a new toy, but the lad has been great, I’m confident he will go from strength to strength.

There appears to be a number on here who really don’t appear to like our youngsters.
