That's that then. We're not for sale says John Henry.

1.) 20 Feb 2023
20 Feb 2023 18:11:52
He never did say the club was for sale.
That's just how many folks took it.

{Ed002's Note - The club has been for sale.}

20 Feb 2023 18:24:03
Yes they have flash the problem is no one came in with the 4 bill they wanted for their beloved NBA team. I just hope they have an investor up their sleeve or I fear we will end up a mid table team.

3.) 20 Feb 2023
20 Feb 2023 18:38:49
Flash. The ‘many folks’ took the club being up for sale because the club was up for sale. Anyways, focus is on finishing top 4 for now.

4.) 20 Feb 2023
20 Feb 2023 18:54:01
Whitewalker they had a sporting project and succeeded did they not? Do you think they want their investment to start to slide really? Give them a chance if they spend in the summer will everyone start cosying up to them again the way united men shut up about the glazers when they spend big? Honestly just wish people would give it a rest and worry about supporting the team when they have a rough period and not only when things are going well.

5.) 20 Feb 2023
20 Feb 2023 18:59:51
Not for sale means no one would pay their ridiculously greedy valuation.

6.) 20 Feb 2023
20 Feb 2023 19:05:03
By all accounts and like everyone on here don't really know, but the rumoured selling point was £4bn, I can't believe for the life of me that no one would want to buy us? Let's see what happens in the summer before we all have a meltdown.

7.) 20 Feb 2023
20 Feb 2023 19:26:43
Nothing to see here, move along.

Great timing John ?? Right before the biggest game of the season.

9.) 20 Feb 2023
20 Feb 2023 19:49:49
Why LiverpoolFC8? Do you think the players give a rats bum about who pays their wages?

10.) 20 Feb 2023
20 Feb 2023 19:51:32
What ridiculous greedy valuation are you muttering about? Chelsea was sold for 4.25 Billion. You think we should have asked for maybe half of that or something?

11.) 20 Feb 2023
20 Feb 2023 19:59:02
They have never outright said the club was 'for sale', and even after Tom Werner said that it it was, Henry quickly had it dashed in public a few days later. Any journalist with even a tenuous connection to the club is saying that we are for sale. Even beyond that, you can simply use your own induction. Would they seriously be moving Mike Gordon on his post as Director, a role he has performed so well, into overseeing the sale, if there was indeed no sale happening at all?

Doesn't seem to me like anything has changed here. The club is for sale but they're dipping their toe in the water, rather than diving in.

12.) 20 Feb 2023
20 Feb 2023 20:19:48
No polecat. But it just puts the fans that believed a sale was on (not me) on a massive Downer right before the biggest game of the season.
Right when things where slowly looking up, John does it again. Spreading that doom n gloom.

13.) 20 Feb 2023
20 Feb 2023 21:14:24
pretty sure when redbird invested a year or so ago the club was valued at 5.3 billions so 4 is quite cheap, no?

{Ed002's Note - Not in £.}

14.) 20 Feb 2023
20 Feb 2023 21:23:35
Oh boo hoo LiverpoolFC8, anyone put on a downer needs to grow up.

Am I the only one who is happy that they’re not selling? Forgetting the human rights elements but I’m wondering are things about to change with the premier leagues fair play finances- what with city in a bit of a mess. Investigation and threats of relegation in the air. I love the idea of some investments and a healthy kitty for the transfer window going forward. Look at what they’ve accomplished with klopp- if he gets another rebuild, we could be looking at a few greats years coming without having to compete against clubs breaking the rules.

Where I stand on FSG is very very simple.

I'm perfectly happy to have them in charge but this season has shown the aging midfield is starting to struggle and our cbs have a tough time staying fit.

They have to put the money up this transfer market to sign top class players. More than just one.

Gvardiol is an absolute must. I would say almost more than Bellingham. You simply don't turn down a mega fan of that quality. Get it done and sell Matip. Gvardiol, Konate, Van Dijk and Gomez would be sensational options.

Midfield then needs 2 of Bellingham, Caicedo, Kone, Rice, Kephren Thuram in that order for me. Maybe Matheus Nunes but I have him behind the others. Then another gap to Mount.

I'm asking for three top class players. CB and two CMs.

If they fail to deliver funds for this then I will sour on them. I'm a patient man and a positive person but this is a big window and if they fail to recognize it, then I'll be gutted and will be joining to FSG out brigade.

I really do believe klopp will have more funds this year though. I think everyone can see now is the time. Let's see what happens.

And like someone else said, we got bigger things to worry about right now like toppling Madrid and getting top four.

{Ed002's Note - There are 2 other clubs in discussions over Gvardiol.}

17.) 21 Feb 2023
20 Feb 2023 23:42:52
Doesn’t matter Ed02 Gvardiol gave an interview saying he’s always been a Liverpool fan, which is really secret code that he’s joining us. Same with Mbappe and Jude and Judy’s dad and Rabiot and Rabiot’s mum.

We are dispensing with the more traditional approach to scouting players and are only going to buy players who are fans of the club.

20 Feb 2023 23:53:09
Davey, What changes if you do sour on FSG? Will you not re-new your season ticket, stop spending hundreds of pounds on merchandise and tours, and cancel your Sky, BT, and Amazon subscriptions?

19.) 21 Feb 2023
21 Feb 2023 03:46:51
Have we fallen so far that a round of 16 champions league tie is now considered our "biggest game of the season"? I just find it weird to call our next game that. It's like implying that we are not going to progress in the competition any further.

20.) 21 Feb 2023
21 Feb 2023 05:59:45
To be fair, the next game is always the most important game, irrespective of it being a league or a Cup game. Focus on winning the next game is all important.

As an aside, being one of the last 16 in the CL is a place every other club outside the 16 would want to be. It’s sad that anybody should see it as a place that says we have “fallen so far”. As I was saying the other day the sense of entitlement beggars belief.

21.) 21 Feb 2023
21 Feb 2023 06:03:07
If FSG provide Klopp with a big transfer kitty in the summer for him to get his targets then great.

They’ve done plenty right and made plenty of mistakes on the way. They have to take credit for appointing Klopp and the infrastructure and they’ve grown the club from a value of a hundred million into 4 billion.

In all walks kid lie you hit crossroads and I’m guessing this was theirs. They’ve chosen not to sell and hopefully will unleash the purse strings ready for next season.

Taking my boy to his first ever CL game tonight so nothing is going to take that feeling away. Only way to put the icing on the cake would be a nice win from the lads.

22.) 21 Feb 2023
21 Feb 2023 06:21:02
Dracred, of course its the biggest game of the season. You can only count games you have played or are about to play in. Madrid is the biggest game of the season so far by a mile. You can't say the final will be the biggest game of the season as we are not there. You have to concentrate on the game coming up and that is always the biggest .

23.) 21 Feb 2023
21 Feb 2023 06:26:43
Drac I think it’s more the opposition over what round it is. Real home midweek in the CL regardless of what round is surely on most fans bucket list.

With our current predicament I think every game moving forward will be our most important but you don’t get much bigger games than this.

24.) 21 Feb 2023
21 Feb 2023 08:34:39
ArAy doesn’t buying Chelsea also entail some eye-wateringly highly sought after Kings Road real estate? I am pretty sure it is the stadium and the surrounding arcade that comes with the club.
I would not expect Liverpool to cost more to buy than Chelsea, for that reason alone.

25.) 21 Feb 2023
21 Feb 2023 08:44:17
Mate and I discussing this over a pint after the game on Saturday, we both agreed that whilst mistakes have been made, generally FSG have been decent owners. Neither of us wants a Newcastle or City type owning us

However, big investment is needed this summer. In midfield I think 2 are definitely needed. Looks like we are going all out for Bellingham who is special, I'd go for Mason Mount too, think he'd be great for us

In defence, Gvardiol is going to be truly great, be a big ask but would be great for us and the longterm replacement gor VVD too. Skirniar on a free then as well? - would be a good transfer window I think

Outs - Ox, Keita, Milner (maybe, I like him though), Matip.

26.) 21 Feb 2023
21 Feb 2023 09:28:26
How can John be spreading doom and gloom when the fans have created all this fuss in their own minds?

27.) 21 Feb 2023
21 Feb 2023 10:02:49
It will be a bit like Y2K footyfan.

I like to think I d organize mass protests, both in anfield and outside John Henry's home. Peaceful protests. I'm not a monster. I'll handcuff myself to the posts naked. Once they see my naked flesh they ll sell at once. I'll shovel the words FSG OUT on the anfield pitch late at night. I might need a few nights for this. At first there'll be that someone has damaged the pitch with the letters FS. They'll all wonder what it means but you all will know what's coming.

But in the end I guess nothing will happen.

I might write a negative post or two here.
