Breaking: Fabio Carvalho prepared to reluctantly accept a permanent departure from Liverpool this summer. Has been told he isn’t part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans for next season and was the subject of a bid from an unnamed CL club last month.

The treatment of Carvalho has been nothing short of a disgrace form Klopp and co. Hoping the kid gets the move and has a stellar career elsewhere.

He is a talented kid. We have to let him go as I just don't see the room for him anytime soon.

I think to be fair to him it should be permanent.

Why is it a disgrace?

Surely it would be more of a disgrace if we hung on to a player that had no chance of playing or advancing his career. When Pep let's a player go everyone says it’s him being ruthless and a genius. But when Klopp does it somehow it’s a disgrace. I assume that Klopp and the coaching staff had their reasons given that they see him everyday and we don’t. So I would hold judgement on that move until we know the facts.

"The treatment of Carvalho has been nothing short of a disgrace form Klopp and co" - Really? What if he just isn't good enough?

5.) 29 May 2023

Because we've completely wasted a year of his career. Unless there's more to this story.

Why is it disgraceful? Give your head a wobble. He couldn’t get into a relatively settled Team after the WC. He rarely got on the bench. We paid buttons comparatively for a decent player. He had a great final season at Fulham and hasn’t really kicked on. His opportunities will be limited at Liverpool. A loan would be better as I can’t see us getting a lot of money for a sale. He needs game time so give him that. He’s young so plenty of time to develop.

Breaking?! Lol. I reckon we loan him out. Not really a disgrace, he just doesn't fit what klopp wants unfortunately. I think it's a shame as I really like him.

What's disgraceful about it? Nobody forced him to move to lfc. I'm sure he knew the level of competition in forward areas we have.

Disgrace is harsh but he hasn’t been given a chance we’ve kept poor player like Keita Ox Henderson Milner Gomez for years. Fabio has barely played for us to see if he’s good or not. Klopps a top coach but outside of Trent he hasn’t been able to develop young players for us at all.

10.) 29 May 2023
29 May 2023 13:35:31
How was it a disgrace? Was he ostracized from the first team squad and forced to train with the kids? Or was he simply not picked to play games and you think he should have been?

A disgrace? People whine about Klopp being sentimental and then say he’s a disgrace. I thought he looked okay, but people are really overestimating this guy. Looked weak and bang average earlier in the season. I’m not saying he’s not a talent or capable, but you don’t know his attitude or his training mentality etc. I trust Klopp.

Loan move abroad probably.

13.) 29 May 2023

To say it’s a disgrace only highlights you haven’t got a clue what goes on behind the scenes

If he was that good and that impressive in training at doing what the coaches want then he would have been playing regularly

So pipe down.

Personally, I'd be happier with a loan than a permanent move, unless there was a buyback clause attached.

If only Klopp had been as ruthless with other players who were not good enough.

No disgrace here, Harry. Carvalho looks lightweight and technically limited in some aspects. His shooting and passing technique is average.

He does look to have an excellent touch, good dribbling skills and make good runs. But overall he just never looked good enough. Given his age I thiught a.

(cont) Given his age, i thought loan would've made more sense.

Sorry. Hit reply accidentally trying to close an annoying pop up.

Team comes before any individual. If he’s not it the plans cut ties let go for as much as possible thank him for his contribution and wish him well in the future .

We need to be more ruthless otherwise we are never going to trim the squad down also we will always cling on in hope they can make it in the team but realistically we are just hurting the club and the player

Move on.

It's only a disgrace if you're the hysterical type and looking to get a cob on.

Its a disgrace when Klopp wanted to extend Milner contract yet do not give Fabio Carvalho a chance.

Unsurprising. Not quick enough to play on the wing, not robust or defensively minded enough to play in the midfield, not good enough with his back to goal to play the Bobby role in the team which Gakpo seems to have nailed down now anyway. He’s an out an out number 10 player, a position we don’t play, which only begs the question why we bought him in the first place. Good little player though. I’m sure he’ll do great elsewhere.

I’m sick of all this rubbish. Basically he wasn’t good enough to get on a very ordinary Liverpool team. He’s not champions league quality, not that that matters anymore. But certainly is not the answer to get us back into CL. Yeah it’s a shame it didn’t work out. Shame for us, not him. He had a great opportunity and he didn’t take it. Big deal, move on.

29 May 2023 22:43:31
Maybe if we had of been good enough in any of the cups for a cup run, then he would have got a chance. But we weren’t. Which tells me Carvalho isn’t just the only one of the reserves that isn’t good enough. Would love to see the likes of Gomez and Matip go too. They just aren’t good enough.

29 May 2023 23:04:37
Elliot, albeit more right side attacking is a far better player for me, far from a disgrace giving the lad a chance. Wish him the best and he will do well, just maybe not at Liverpool. We need to try and unearth gems with our budget, not all will be the standard required.

Carvalho has loads of technical ability and a great work rate, but I haven't seen a Liverpool player give the ball away so often since Luis Garcia. He could have improved over time no doubt, but it's the player himself who is agitating and unhappy, not Klopp. That's why he's being sold.

{Ed002's Note - No, Liverpool have made it clear to his agent they are OK with him leaving.}

Decent young player but plays mainly on the left wing where we are more than well stocked - just a case of it didn't work out maybe?

Also Onekiss, poor players? Wouldn't say Hendo and Milner have been poor over the last number of years, they've both given everything. Ox just never recovered from the 2nd horrible injury, shame as he looked like he was getting back to his best after the first, but the second one has just derailed him - real shame but he genuinely gave his all for us, unfortunately the extent of his injuries meant that simply wasn't enough anymore - again a shame, seemed a genuinely hard working decent lad who i'd like to see go on and have a decent career

Keita - complete waste of a transfer fee and the term poor does not quite describe his time at Liverpool - there is a talent there but seems to be too fond of a certain way of life etc to actually succeed at this level. As for Gomez, I think he could well go the way of the Ox. Again a shame, in our title winning side him and VVD were immense together but looks a real shadow of himself following that bad injury - can he recover his form? Will he? A decision will need to be made about his future in the next season imo.
