I know Diego Laxalt was mentioned as a possible left sided player (LB/ LM), but is there any sign of revisiting Julian Brandt as a left midfield option (instead of LW)?

RazorSharp

{Ed002's Note - I wouldn’t think Liverpool willlook to buy him and then pay him out of position on the odd occasions he is required. If Salah or Mane were to leave perhaps.}

1.) 31 Dec 2018 18:38:17
OK I thought he played LM as well.

Anyway Ed2 thank you very much for all your hard work and info in 2018. I hope 2019 brings you much joy peace and health. Happy New Year. YNWA.

{Ed002's Note - Julian Brandt is an out and out attacking LW.}

2.) 31 Dec 2018 23:42:48
I’m not saying we are going to get brandt, but why do we have to sell to buy? City have mahrez aguero sterling Jesus sane and silva who all play in the front three positions. We have salah mane Firmino Shaqiri and Sturridge who are first team. When city signed mahrez we didn’t say well who is leaving then? Shaqiri plays in the middle a lot anyway, we don’t have natural pace as an option on the wing, if mane and salah wasn’t available.

3.) 01 Jan 2019 00:34:51
Doesn’t really matter who city has. We are well stocked up top.

4.) 01 Jan 2019 03:04:41
We’re fine but not massively stocked upfront IMO. A long term injury to either Mane or Salah and we’ll be putting a lot of strain on Shaqiri as there’s no one else able to provide pace and goals from out wide (especially with the Ox injured) .

The only consolation I can see from this is that we haven't spent 100 million on 2 players who were not in our original plan. Now let's start again. Hopefully we can go back in for Mendy and Keita.

RazorSharp

{Ed025's Note - they will cost £100m razor.. :)

1.) 08 Jun 2017 00:59:47
£100m yes, but both 1st choice targets. Throw in Salah and a RB and I am thrilled. Sell the players who don't have a future with the club and I call that a great transfer window.

Just purely speculation and hypothetical. Would anyone take Aubanayang if he became available?

RazorSharp

1.) 15 Dec 2021 08:32:03
No he’s unbelievably lazy - he makes Pogba look like a workaholic!

2.) 15 Dec 2021 08:47:36
OP if Klopp couldn't stand Aubameyang's disgraceful and stinking attitude in his final years at Dortmund then, how do you think he feels about him now when he has become even worse now, than he was back then at Dortmund?

3.) 15 Dec 2021 08:51:50
A captain who misses training more than once in a year? No thanks, hendo and Milly would whoop his butt if he pulled that here. Plus, he's getting on and hasn't hit the heights for a couple of seasons now.

4.) 15 Dec 2021 09:12:58
no, wouldn't have taken him in his prime and definitely not now.

5.) 15 Dec 2021 09:15:50
Makes less than zero sense.

6.) 15 Dec 2021 09:37:21
Is that a no then?

7.) 15 Dec 2021 10:32:35
Yes! And Ozil. Then bid for Werner.

8.) 15 Dec 2021 11:43:28
4 years ago his ability was worth the indiscretions to us. Now though with his abilities dwindling and our need for more goal scorers nearly non-existant, it would be an incredibly poor signing. He'd be about 6th choice for us on this seasons form. Salah, Mane, Firmino, Jota and Origi are all ahead of him right now.

{Ed025's Note - dont count firmino or origi as choices MK, they are bench warmers at best mate but i agree that abameyang would be a bad choice..

9.) 15 Dec 2021 11:46:27
What had he done to get dropped?

10.) 15 Dec 2021 11:52:41
Wow a bench with players like origi and Bobby?! No wonder we are so above Everton mate?

11.) 15 Dec 2021 12:00:44
He is on circa £300k per week. we can't strike that for Salah lol.

12.) 15 Dec 2021 13:03:37
So if it came to a choice between Auba and Origi who would you take?

13.) 15 Dec 2021 13:03:49
Ed025. I know you enjoy a good wind up. But calling Bobby a “benchwarmer at best” doesn’t do you many favors. He’d certainly walk into your team and be the best one on it. I’d even say he could pick his position and that would be unchanged.

{Ed025's Note - he used to ok TJ but lets be honest he has done nothing for nearly 3 years, a poor mans rondon i would say..

14.) 15 Dec 2021 13:18:40
Origi 7 days of the week. Knows his role and seems happy with it. Isn't one ounce of trouble and a good lad to have around the squad.

{Ed025's Note - very good sub OMM, but thats the pinnacle of his worth i would say mate..

15.) 15 Dec 2021 14:05:04
Origi 7 days of the week and twice if it's a major semi final/ final. He's got 5 goals in about 400 minutes this season and he doesn't cause any disruption. Aubameyang would struggle to make our match day squad even forsaking his disciplinary record. His form has been awful since his new booster contract. I agree Bobby and Origi are on the bench in our best XI, but i'd rather have them on the bench than Aubameyang, straight up.

16.) 15 Dec 2021 14:16:09
This fella is just trying to wind people up, I hope? My god, never in a million years. Don't bite. Talk about getting a reaction lol well played razor.

17.) 15 Dec 2021 14:23:03
No, he’s over the hill and a complete arse.

18.) 15 Dec 2021 15:56:38
One of the easiest nos ever. Massively overpaid and very questionable attitude.

19.) 15 Dec 2021 16:14:29
I’d rather us give one of the crowd a go than have aubamayang near the club. He’s lazy, lost his touch, and expensive, poor attitude the list of cons goes on.

20.) 15 Dec 2021 17:08:56
Outside of his disciplinary issues, the way we play doesn't suit him at all.

21.) 15 Dec 2021 18:20:05
Question for VVV, Adams Traore or Auba?

22.) 15 Dec 2021 18:51:46
Marto that's like asking what happens when an unstoppable force hits an immovable object! Traore sprinting at full belt being the unstoppable force, and an Aubameyang who has been asked to press being the immovable object.

23.) 15 Dec 2021 19:22:05
Ed 025 loves his fishing doesn't he, u down calderstones lake again ed rod in hand .

{Ed025's Note - im not fishing hailstones, i just have views on players and like superman always tell the truth, im not saying you have to agree with me mate but i do know my onions..

24.) 15 Dec 2021 20:29:46
Martolfc, I’d rather defecate into my hands and clap than either.

Joking aside, Traore is at least a decent bloke and would put a shift in when Klopp asked him. Even if he’s a terrible footballer.

25.) 16 Dec 2021 01:18:57
Haha, I feel like a poor man's Rondon is me typing this from my couch. or maybe that's the actual Rondon, haha.

26.) 16 Dec 2021 02:49:59
@Ed25, Origi is a very good sub at one of the top half dozen clubs in the world. That makes him an automatic regular starter for most professional clubs on the planet.

Bobby is better than Origi, imho, which makes him an automatic starter for nearly all professional clubs on the planet.

Anybody that you would even consider in those categories from the Blues? You could have had Digne, of course, but it seems like the best left back in the world isn’t going to get many more games?

{Ed025's Note - origi is one of the best subs in the game WDW, he is prepared to sit on the bench for most of his career and thats priceless, even though it does show a lack of ambition, bobby is the biggest myth in football though mate, this amazing play maker, scorer, link man has never been seen!!!, he belongs in the realm of dragons unicorns and mermaids as fantasy beings who are a figment of the imagination..

27.) 16 Dec 2021 08:39:27
just going to play Devils advocate here and see the reaction, but you can see with Auba why FSG aren't keen to give big contracts to our ageing players. they play out of their skins get a massive contract and then literally down tools,

28.) 16 Dec 2021 10:10:17
We heard good word from vvvv on Traore, the end?

29.) 16 Dec 2021 11:44:48
I think origi would be a cracking signing for Everton.

30.) 16 Dec 2021 10:06:31
Ed025 you have 11 starters that should be on the bench the limit of their talents id bet if raffa had div and bobby they would be first on his team sheet . You do really need to start to live in the real world you get a top manager who then does a runner to Madrid you then are lucky enough to get Raffa in and you lot give him no time to fix a problem that goes back to end of kendals rein and slag him off . Stop making comment on other clubs players and i suggest back your manager and board.

{Ed025's Note - im only opining albey as is my want, im afraid your opinion of our current manager is as biased as your love for divi and bobby mate, they are very good options from the bench and thats their limit for me..

31.) 16 Dec 2021 16:55:03
Albeydered as for Rafa, he has NOBODY else to blame for taking that wretched Everton manager job BUT himself. Many of us sounded the alarm that he was heading into a buzzsaw with that mob. They would never give him credit for anything he achieved and would get all the blame for everything that went wrong regardless of whose fault it is. He made his bed and he needs to tuck into it nicely, IMO.

As for Ed25's opinion about Bobbie and Origi, I think at this point Ed25 is just being stubborn and doesn't want to admit he has been wrong about both of these guys from day one and won't admit it. He said they would not pan out for us YET they are both going into their SEVENTH season with the club. Who knew, right? This is where he has stuck his flag into the ground and won't budge. Just my take.

I seem to remember a couple of years ago neither Spurs nor Liverpool did much in the summer transfer window and everyone prophesied doom and gloom. Fast forward 2019 champions league final.

RazorSharp

1.) 31 Aug 2021 18:22:51
And look at Spurs now after not kicking on, we could end up the same. That season was this current team at its peak but it’s not 2019 anymore. I’ve never allowed transfers to upset me but we’ve been a disaster this summer i’m so disappointed with us. Salah VVD at their peak and Klopps last few seasons wasted aiming for top 4?

24 Aug 2021 17:27:44
Just purely hypothetically, who do you think would suit the Liverpool team better, Haaland or Mbappe?

RazorSharp

{Ed0666's Note - Mbappe

1.) 24 Aug 2021 17:36:29
Any of the 2 would do, they are both goal scorers, quick and can lay an assist but if I had to choose I would go for Mbappe solely on the reason that he can play of the wing.

2.) 24 Aug 2021 18:16:53
Haaland is a pure finisher, poacher type, mbappe can create for himself and cause havoc against anyone. Of course haaland is incredible at what he does, but mbappe is by far a better player.

{Ed025's Note - not on your nellie..

22 Aug 2021 20:23:53
Shaqiri out, now Mbappe in 😏.

RazorSharp

1.) 22 Aug 2021 21:56:53
Elliot definitely in.

21 Apr 2021 08:48:02
I know Henry has apologised but I can’t but thinks it’s just an exercise in PR to try to appease the fans and show how much he cares about them. I think you’re being naive if you fall for that. They think they know what fans want to hear and this would have been carefully choreographed. All it is, is an admission that this attempt has failed and they have been made to look silly. What they did wasn’t just to disrupt LFC but also the premier league and football in general. I don’t think a short video just erases that.

RazorSharp

1.) 21 Apr 2021 10:20:49
If this was a first offense I'd accept it. Second I would accept it but be wary. Its just gone beyond a joke with fsg now. We are losing our identity with these owners.

FSG are a massive part of our on field reassurgence but they are very cold and ruthless. Perhaps not as people but in business and this is very much a business for them. They don't and will never act how fans would like.

Maybe there's some rich human out there with great moral values and kindness who could see our club not just shine on the pitch but off it too. It's like finding a unicorn methinks.

I do look at Bayern and Dortmund with great envy. They seem to be shining lights as clubs across Europe lose their souls one way or another.

2.) 21 Apr 2021 10:31:08
To be fair to him and anyone who makes a public apology, they are going to get stick either way. Double edged sword.

He says nothing, 'oh, he should have made an apology, its what we deserve'
He makes an apology 'oh, he only did that because he had to and he doesn't mean it'

What other options are there?

{Ed001's Note - the options were to do it immediately, instead of hours later when the original statement has received a backlash for not apologising. Clearly it was just trying to dampen the fire rather than meant as a genuine apology.} Become a Patron!

I know they’re in totally different circumstances, but doesn’t it seem crazy when one rumour says Brewster for £20 million, and another says Wijnaldum for £15 million. Anyway, don’t believe everything you read in the press 😏.

I thought this was a game that Milner would have done a good job helping to protect the defence and keep the lead. Those are the times you need his experience and versatility.
