One for Ed001 and others, if we do sign Timber where would you see him utilised and how good a signing could he be?

{Ed001's Note - he is a right-back at his best, though often plays centre-back. Not sure I would see the point in his signing when we need a left-sided centre-back and already have 4 players who can cover right-back. I don't see him as a step up at centre-back at all. I don't like him there when I have seen him.}

Ed what would you’re choice be from those we have looked at thanks in advance.

{Ed001's Note - we don't need a right back.}

Thank you Ed001 for your reply mate! I haven’t seen much of him myself other than when we met in the CL. Perhaps it’s for RB to allow Trent to be a traditional CM instead of this hybrid role. Time will tell I suppose!

{Ed001's Note - we don't need one. Bradley is perfectly capable.}

Who miss the fourth Ed? Trent, Gomez, Ramsay and?

{Ed001's Note - Bradley.}

I agree with you Ed in that RB isn’t something I’d be inclined to spend on in Klopp’s shoes! However he may have his own ideas. Have reservations about Timber at CB, although having earlier admitted not seeing much of him, purely down to his height.

@Ed01 - do you think Bradley at RB would work for us next season?

{Ed001's Note - yes, it would have worked this season too. It was a stupid decision to send him out on loan and buy another right-back. It is bad financial management of the kind that has put us in the situation we are in. Lots of poor recruitment choices on where to spend the money and who to keep and who to get rid of.}

Ed001 what other financial recruitment mistakes do you think we’ve made?

Do you think Nunez for the price we paid Is one or do you believe he will justify the price tag?

{Ed001's Note - a long string of them really imo. Almost every player was given a salary that was bigger than should have been. As for Nunez, that was the price that needed to be paid, it is not really the transfer fees so much that bother me, it is the surrounding payments that have hamstrung us. The overlarge salaries, too many players in the squad making that even more of an issue, agent fees etc. That is more of a money drain than the actual transfer fees.}

Ed001 cheers for the reply.

Seems like agents enjoy working with us as they get a overinflated pay packet out of it.

Out of curiosity who has the final say and signs off on what we pay these agents.

With regards to wages I agree that players are massively overpaid but I suppose the clubs fear is if we don’t pay them what they want then someone else will. Which is all well and good the players you want to move on but not so much the ones you want to retain.

As always appreciate the reply.

{Ed001's Note - Edwards and Ward were in charge of negotiations. Hopefully the new SD will be a little more parsimonious and actually keep the wages within manageable levels and trim the squad down to a reasonable size too.}
