Just my thoughts on a couple of players of late.
Milner is a great servant BUT I don't think he should be starting for us .
TAA is great going forward but if we're being honest his defending is very poor and I can't believe the amount of times he's caught out ball watching and not tracking his man.
Gomes. I know ed01 rates him but I think he's a weak link and for someone who supposedly is very muscular and strong I've yet to see him win a header in the opposition box from a set piece or corner and is easily bullied.
VVD hasn't been the same since his injury which is understandable and seems to be bottling out of challenges in my eyes. we need him back to his best asap.
Fabinho just looks way off the pace to me and I don't know what's happening with him if I'm honest ??‍♂️ Perhaps he needs a break but obviously we're struggling in that department.
Henderson great captain and leader but I personally believe this could be his last season as a starter and injuries seem to be a regular thing for him which is a shame. I personally think we need an upgrade and I'm his biggest fan.
Nabby the less said the better as he's just been a disaster of a signing if you ask me.

The Team will need massive investment next summer and I am worried where the money is coming from without a proper sale. This is the result of poor and incompetent planning by the board and management.

Aging players getting new contracts. Only Klopp could do that.

I agree TAA defending is poor and he needs to show more commitment but I do think some of the blame has to be put to Klopp it’s obvious he’s asked Trent to play really high or step into the RCM spot and leave his flank completely open it was fine when Henderson was fully fit and running back for him with Elliot being more attack minded it’s not helping.

@Austria_Scouser, we’ve lost a couple of games - get a grip.

Players look knackered and uninterested (which is the biggest concern) .

Diaz is racing around trying to win everything whilst some are walking around.

Bobby is trying his hardest to make things happen but then at the same time is so deep he’s behind our midfielders and miles away from the opposition box.

Thiago made more successful tackles in 27 mins on Wed night than the starting midfield 3 and both full backs combined in 90 mins.

Salah, Trent, Fab, Robbo and Vvd are in the worst form of their LFC careers and unfortunately all at the same time.

I like Gomez and he’s a massive fan favourite but he seems to have at least 1 mistake in him a game that’ll gift the opposition a glorious chance.

Elliot’s been decent but I’ve still not seen a future superstar or Balon D’or winner potential in him that some have claimed.

Nunez has had a poor start but he’s 7 games into his LFC career. I appreciate he’s only been available for 4 but it was his own fault that he wasn’t available for the other 3 so of course they should count.

We potentially have 2 weekends off football off now and then an international break which could prove to be a blessing in disguise as it’ll give Klopp a chance to regroup this squad and go again.

This squad is in the trenches and we couldn’t have a better leader in world football in Klopp who will get in that trench with them.

Midfield.
Few years back Hendo and Wijnaldum would come in and cover the attacking fullbacks. Fabinho would drop deeper and cover the Center backs.
Elliot and Milner can’t do it they’re just nowhere to be seen. So Van Dijk or the other CB is coming across and they’re way out of position.
Now you’ve got Salah deeper coz of the hole, it’s just a complete mess.
These midfielders need to be better than the kids or the pensioners.
Thank god the footballs postponed, it’s done us a massive favour to work on a new system.

JK23,I was going to write exactly 100% the same post, one good thing though it saves my fingers from being sore.

The Buck stops here, for future success.

"Well Done" (for copying me intended post! )

Perhaps a formation change, 4.2.3.1
Thiago, fab . Diaz, Bobby, salah. nunez.

I think Trent looks like he’s bulked up too much. He looks gassed quite early in games which could relate to him having too much muscle.

9.) 10 Sep 2022
10 Sep 2022 12:32:27
Joe Gomez won the header against Newcastle from the corner in the 97th minute to be fair and he is only getting back into it with a shaky VVD and a half asleep trent

The issue is with the teams approach thinking we can just show up and win but we're loosing the battle this season the fight and desire to win be ruthless close down press High with conviction that you want to win the ball not just for show.

I love to positives but the mid is in bits.

Milner is doing well for a 5th choice backup. better than keeping Morton back from loan or relying on Bajcetic.

12.) 10 Sep 2022
10 Sep 2022 14:46:13
We don't need massive investment.
Two midfielders and a Firmino replacement (if Carvalho or Elliott are not up to it) and we'll be reet.

13.) 10 Sep 2022
10 Sep 2022 16:32:48
Rigsby I suppose it would depend on who those midfielders and forward is mate.

If one of them is Bellingham then that’s a massive investment on its own. Rated 100 mill this summer and I can’t see that reducing next summer. If anything it’ll be more.

{Ed002's Note - doling to dot have a value this summer as he was not for sale.}

14.) 10 Sep 2022
10 Sep 2022 18:02:50
If we spent £100m on Bellingham and another £100m on two more players, I wouldn't necessarily see that as massive investment.
Massive for us, maybe, but not massive considering what other teams spend and what we have spent recently.

15.) 10 Sep 2022
10 Sep 2022 18:26:54
Easy to spend someone else's money.

16.) 10 Sep 2022
10 Sep 2022 18:29:29
Rigsby agree mate. It would be regarded as massive investment for us especially as we don’t really have anyone of substantial value to sell to raise funds.

If we lose Bobby, Milner, Ox and Naby (all for free) at the end of this season that’s 4 players being replaced by 3. So if we sell it’s going to further reduce the squad.

Great for us as fans to discuss but I’d imagine it’s a bit of pressure on Klopp and the transfer team looking ahead to next season.

17.) 10 Sep 2022
10 Sep 2022 19:26:14
We are paying the price for under-investment in the team compared to other teams for several years. I do completely understand about C.V., but the squad desperately needs quality additions and has done for several years now.

Planning has been beyond woeful and this summer we desperately needed more energy in midfield, which has not been forthcoming. The team also played every game possible last season and only had a small break this year. That’s having an impact. Injuries and poor tactics such as the last game against Napoli clearly not helping.

I blame firstly the owners for lack of investment, then the players for the drop off in intensity and then Klopp for not doing anything about it whatsoever. Just playing a high line without any pressure on the ball is a recipe for disaster.

I don’t want him to go but unless he can innovate abs change tactically where does he go?

18.) 10 Sep 2022
10 Sep 2022 19:29:36
I don’t think even managers spend their own money on transfers ?

Going to get to a stage on here where nothing can be discussed without someone having a moan.

19.) 10 Sep 2022
10 Sep 2022 20:45:25
Two midfielders won’t be enough for 4 outgoings next summer. First and foremost we need a proper back up for Fabinho, then two world class B2B players. That’s a total of £170 mill without a penny coming in.
Won’t happen. The whole world knows how FSG operate.
Bellingham alone would cost in the excess of £200 mill with wages, agent fees and what not.

20.) 10 Sep 2022
10 Sep 2022 20:55:57
We're paying the price for not getting another midfielder in and having four out injured.
Less than six months ago we were in contention for winning every trophy available to us and people are judging us now with the benefit of hindsight.

21.) 10 Sep 2022
10 Sep 2022 23:45:37
I think your being a bit harsh JK23. I’m not sure many on here think Elliot is going to be a future Avalon Dor winner but he is showing incredible ability for his age. In comparison, let’s look at the last 4 Balon Dor winners and what they were doing when they were 18.

Messi-Just broke into the Barcelona first team. He was in and out the first 11 and scored 8 goals that season. Crazy to think Messi himself developed right?
Ronaldo - Had just become a regular for Sporting, played over 30 games and scored a measly 5 goals.
Modric - At 18 Modric had barely managed to get into Dinamo Zagrebs team.
Kaka - Playing semi-regularly for Sau Paulo.

Put it into perspective a little bit. Elliot is doing very well and will only get better.

22.) 11 Sep 2022
11 Sep 2022 00:09:03
Westwood I think it would be harsh if I said Elliot wasn’t very good. I’ve said he’s been decent which I think he has.

I did mention Balon D’or mate as it’s been said on here about him a few times and you’ve compared him to past winners and what they were doing at his age which you’ve pointed out. But there’s been loads and loads of 18 year olds who have started well in their careers and never gone on to win Balon D’ors or even make it.

I wasn’t trying to be harsh on him I did a narrative of the whole team. I really hope he becomes a superstar because that means we’ll have a superstar on our hands.

But I def don’t think I’ve been harsh on him mate.

23.) 11 Sep 2022
11 Sep 2022 10:42:41
Two starting midfielders would be ok. We already have Thiago and Fabinho and Henderson could do the Milner role. Maybe Elliott and Carvalho doing a bit in there though I think they might be suited more to the front three or replacing Firmino. One of the youngsters to step up and we'll be ok.
We need to be buying starting midfielders and not filling the squad with fringe players.
Quality not quantity.

Bajcetic could be ready to be Fab's backup next year. Also picking up Laimer or Tielemans on a free next summer would obviously help towards squad building.

Seems some fans are finally clicking about what we have been moaning about with these owners, lived off the back of Klopp and not invested properly at all, we are going to be in some trouble if we don't get top 4, it was clear as day what we needed, has been for a few seasons yet all these shiny new contracts have covered for the lack of quality additions, we should of been getting one first choice midfielder this summer and then a 2nd one next summer, it's not like there hasn't been any bargains around, Bissouma, Nunes, Tielemans, Sarr etc etc instead we will get a new contract for Milner and Bobby and no doubt a big rise and lengthy contract for Naby who shouldn't even be in the U23's and that will be the business, the owners are way past their sell by date.

{Ed002's Note - What has it got to do with the owners? Most of your moaning should be about Klopp with what you are saying.}

Ed we work on an outdated transfer policy that works for the Championship and below, that isn't exactly very savy, lots of debt against the club, we have missed out on more titles and now the squad is a transfer window or 2 behind, given we don't exactly spend without out goings the owners have been poor in that way, with the new stand they will of peaked.

{Ed002's Note - The club needs to operate within its means.}
