Evening ed002/ 01

I've seen a few things mentioned regarding investment and income FSG has received, with some saying investment hasn't been put into the club, but into their pockets.

As you can gather by my posts, I'm certainly happy with what the owners have done for the club.

It's really to help me understand.

{Ed002's Note - The owners have not stolen investment from the club.}

From what I have heard the owners haven’t taken any money out of the club a part from the few % from the loan they give the club for the main stand which was less than the banks would have given us

FSG may be greedy but it has always been about the end game with them.

Why would they take money out? They’re rich. They’ve invested and will no doubt receive a huge return. We’ve had a team that’s been winning trophies again and the clubs in a far better state than when they took over .

Win / win.

Hi Ed002, with the Glazer family recently seeking to sell their stake in Man U, has this had an impact on any potential sale of LFC by FSG? It feels like since the Glazers made the announcement, interest (at least the noise in the media) in an LFC sale has waned.

{Ed002's Note - No, it makes no difference.}

According to Forbes, and from looking at the accounts, FSG haven’t taken out dividends from the club. That being said, other than an initial investment of capital when they first joined the club they also haven’t invested heavily either (if at all) .

FSG has also made sure that the capital has no interest payments required. So they’re relying on the business to be completely self sufficient, which is all well and good but means that the money available compared to other clubs is significantly less than those like Chelsea, Man City etc.

Nothing Ed 2 says will stop people here from rolling with the idea that FSG are just padding their back pockets.

New owners take over a run down business in administration or close to administration. Over a 10 to 12 year period they invest in the business in various ways. The owners have invested (or loaned the business) around £1 billion (including purchase price) in the business over the period. Result is the business value has now increased due to success.

Owners are now looking to sell for 3 or 4 times their investment.

FSG are doing no different to any other investment company.

Good on them for reviving LFC to where it is now. Winning our first PL trophy in 30 years, CL trophy, both domestic cups won.

Just remember where we were in September 2010.

Don’t disagree BS but their time is up as they are unable to take the club any further whilst other clubs have progressed due to new owners with cash to spend.
We really need new owners and not new investment that provides a short term gain.

How much further can ANYONE take the club? Pretty sure we've been one of, if not the best club in world football for several years now. We're having a bad season but this is more on Klopp than FSG and no amount of investment or spending from new owners is going to fix the issues that are there.

Don't talk rubbish. more on klopp than fsg? Are you serious we have had drips and drabs since prem title and champions league win. Resting on their lorals to save money and line their own pockets. If klopp wasn't here we'd of won nothing at all. They are now throwing him to the dogs and he needs to throw them to the dogs also. Too nice of a person it appears. And to come out mid season and say the clubs up for sale. p. take. Take your profits and do 1.

Red mob, what an absolute crock of s**te . The man has worked wonders over the last 7 years. And how a best club in the world for a few years can afford to spend more that Fulham or villa in a window where its obvious we need help in midfield, that's the most clueless post I've read on here in some time . And that goes to whoever liked your post too.

We’ve bought Diaz, Jota, Gakpo, Carvahlo, Nunez and Ramsey recently as well as a loan for Melo and new contract for Salah. Elliott and half a dozen others got injured and this season just hasn’t worked out for the likes of Fab, Thiago and VIrgil, all of whom were immense just a few months ago. Yes a couple of mids would help replace ox, Naby and Curtis, but folk need to get behind the team and stop slating them. FSG are the best non oil owners out there, and certainly the best we’ve had in decades. The grass isn’t always greener.

Imagine calling Luis Diaz, Carvalho, Konate, Thiago, Nunez, Jota dribs and drabs.

Come off it, when have they ever bought without selling? When have they ever bought without payment plans? Did they do the club a favour after the H&G nonsense? Absolutely yes but that was years ago and here we are.
We were saying on here and the LFC forums 3 seasons ago we needed midfielders, that we needed to strengthen from a position of power, Ferguson did it with utd year on year, in fact Paisley did it here, but we've not done it, last year was brilliant to get where we got but it only papered over the cracks.
This superfan nonsense is boring I'm starting to wonder if some of you work for fsg lol.
Like it or not we're in a mess and one I'm not convinced will be fixed by returning Injured players.

Bought Diaz in January because spurs were going to do so. forced our hand there. Otherwise it would of been another blank transfer window. Carvalho? He still at the club? Mustn't be if he can't get in before the useless lump ox. And was he 4 mill or near that. wow.
Jota paid in installments I mean come on.
Nunez wouldn't of been bought either if mane hadn't of left. Pretty sure most of the out goings covered the fee anyway.
Was thiago really necessary and hardly broke the bank either way 30mill. Konate was a good buy I agree.
No serious fan can honestly say fsg have helped jurgen at this stage sorry. You have 1 of the best managers in the world and virtually every window tell him we have a very limited pot. Wait till we get when klopp decides enough is enough.

To those who are complaining about FSG.

Please remember what the situation was in September 2010 (not really all that long ago) :

- in debt and close to administration
- Roy Hodgson as our manager
- A playing squad with the likes of Paul Konchesky, Christian Poulsen and Milan Jovanovic. all utterly crap players
- in relegation zone

We should be thankful of where we are today and although we seem to be going through a bad patch, I am confident that Klopp will turn it around and a new midfield signing or two in January will do wonders for us.

To those supporting FSG, the Red Sox fans are even more up in arms about their owners and the lack of investment due to the business model BUT they still had Dévers contract renewal worth $275m.

And they have won the World Series four times during FSGs tenure!

Is Klopp to blame for this too? For me, the only common denominator is FSG but some are blinded by this because they rescued us from H&G. Which I am eternally grateful for but it is clear to see their business model is failing as a sporting model, especially when teams like Villa are outspending us.

to be honest Liverpool need to make hard desicion because we have many older players especially midfielders. its heartbreaking to see our club so humiliated so much.

World football has become as grotesque as any other industry, and our club certainly plays its part in that. It's owned by billionaires, it accepts sponsorship from dodgy businesses like Nike and Standard Chartered, it spends hundreds of millions on player transfers and player wages, it prices the local working class supporters out of watching its matches. There's really nothing that could happen in this exchange of ownership that will make the club socialist in any meaningful way, and we probably have to make peace with the fact that, until the world changes, the sport won't change and the club won't change.
