Ordonez on the radar.
Fede back to Juve.

Paul Joyce says Mac could be sold for circa 55 million also.

We need to get more for MacAllister.

We paid £35m upfront plus £20m potential add-on fees, some or most which have been triggered. There may also be a sell on percentage to Brighton.

Minimum £70m for me. Ideally £80m.

2.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 15:39:46
I am a big Joel Ordonez fan. Not sure we need him after signing Jacquet, though.

I would say Fede should get to choose what is right for him. I don't get the impression we have treated him as well as we should have.

3.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 15:41:42
We would love to have more for our players, but who outside the Premier League can pay 70 to 80 million pounds for MacAllister? At least not with his last year's performance.

4.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 15:46:17
I'd take their hand off for £55m for him.
His poor performances, constant diving and theatrics have worn out their welcome.
Nobody is going to pay 70 or 80 million for him.

5.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 15:49:04
I'm sure we bought Macca on a release clause so there would be no requirement for add ons.

Of course, I could be wrong.

6.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 15:54:35
Given that Mac Allister is approaching the last two years of his contract, and also how we totally messed up on Konate & Arnold. I'd say £55m is fine in that context. As he could easily leave for nothing. No point holding out for a fee we won't get.

7.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 15:56:40
You are not wrong, JK23. People love making stuff up.

8.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 15:56:41
Love people saying we should be getting 70-80 million for him, but he's absolutely crap supposedly so how is he worth that much?

9.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 16:00:43
One of the conditions of the add on was that MacA ran a bitt, so as far as I know we don't have to pay the extra add on yet.

Sorry couldn't resist a dig. But yeah, £55m seems realistic. He is not worth any more than that, I'm afraid.

10.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 16:10:06
MacAllister is a World Cup and Premier League winner. He's had one poor season in a year where the entire team underperformed. £55m is an absolute joke and should be scoffed at; he's worth £70 at an absolute minimum. I would want £80 for him in this market, where unproven players with 1 good season are going for £100m.

{Ed001's Note - one? He was awful when we won the league in most games. I spent most of my time moaning about him then as well. He would pop up with a good goal every now and again and everyone forgot about the other 89 minutes he spent stinking up the place.}

11.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 16:15:43
On form, I would have valued Macca at £30-40m. I would goals £50m all day long.

12.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 16:33:43
£50m would be a good deal. I suspect the suits agree.

13.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 16:35:49
Tbh, Chewy, agree with much of what you say about him being a World Cup winner and league title winner. It should count for something, but unfortunately the reality is that I don't think we're in a strong position on this.

Mac isn't a player in significant demand, or at least the type of player who is in demand (like Elliott Anderson, for example).

So his market value isn't as high. He's also approaching the last two years of his contract, so our bargaining position is fairly weak.

14.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 16:45:27
Get as much as we can for him, and let's move on. His antics for me this year especially are not what I like to see in the game. Would be suited to Spain or Arteta's teams for all the diving and time wasting, faking injury.

Embarrassing at times.
Take as much as we can and reinvest in another player.
If we can get 55 and spend the same on an Alex Scott, for example, I see that as a huge upgrade for the team/ squad.

15.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 16:48:15
The player that every fan on this forum unanimously wants rid of is worth £70-80mil.

I wish people weren't so blind to their double standards.

These same people will lose their minds if we let him run his contract down and go on a free.

He's worth what people are willing to pay, which apparently £55mil.

Jacquet predominantly played on the left side of the CBs for his former side. I’m not sure what side Ordonez plays usually, but I personally think Jacquet is considered the long term Van Dijk replacement as well as an immediate Konate replacement.

Leoni actually played as the middle CB in a back 3 a lot of the time back in Italy.

I don’t think it hurts us to have 3 highly talented young CBs. I like the look of Ordonez from clips I’ve seen and things I’ve read.

17.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 17:19:45
He was better in a Brighton shirt tbh.
I've been disappointed.

{Ed001's Note - he tried for them, rather than just spent his time playacting and diving.}

18.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 17:23:53
If we can use that money to get in a mobile, defensive-minded central midfielder, I'm game for that. Lamine Camara, please. Plus the extra towards Wharton or Scott. Still need that rb, please, and maybe the two wingers. Feels like we will be rocking and rolling next year then.

19.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 17:24:31
I've had some arguments over the years over Macca being crap. I can put up with crap players, especially if they try their best, but Macca doesn't try (unless it's v RM), and his theatrics boil my p*ss.

20.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 16:51:20
I don't believe any team in the world would pay 55 pence for a player whose only ability seems to be rolling around on the pitch for five minutes, clutching his face and literally crying because someone ten yards away looked at him funny..If AI does one and only one single thing this year, I'd have it be telling Macca he's not allowed back on the pitch till he finds his balls and has them thoroughly reattached.

His faking getting fouled is an integrity issue for me (and now I'm done beating this horse).

21.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 17:19:34
It's a fair point Ed, he did go missing a lot and tended to only pop up with good moments here and there amongst the mediocrity. Not a great season, but by comparison I wouldn't really call it a bad one myself, especially if this season sets the standard for what we call bad.

I would say 24/25 was pretty middle of the road, for his standards anyay.

22.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 17:38:17
ChangingoftheGvardiol, same happens with Jones, mate. People who think he's useless will then say to sell him for £20-30m.

Macca was superb in the first half of the 24/25 season, in my opinion. He was struggling with injury the 2nd half of the season, but still popped up with some important goals. The thing that kills him is that he is extremely slow. Slow players are the first to get exposed when general fitness levels drop, because if they lose a yard to stop and take a breather, they don't have the pace to recover the ground they lose. Also, if they're not fit enough to get tight to their man, it allows their man to turn and run at them, which slow players cannot deal with. I hope that is the case anyway, as the alternative explanation is Macca downed tools. In my opinion, Macca was just the worst impacted by Slot's poor fitness coaching, but whatever the explanation is, the fact is he's regressed so incredibly far since January 2025 that he now looks bang average.

After such an awful season, preceded by an injury-hit 6 months, I think we'd be lucky to get £55m. If the club have decided we want to sell him and get someone with a different profile in his place, I'm not against it, but I will be disappointed, as I was so happy when we signed him. I'm actually in Greece right now, which is where I was when he was confirmed, and I remember tanking several pints of Mythos to celebrate that night. It's sad to see how far he's fallen, but right now, if he wasn't already a Liverpool player, I would not want us to pay anything over £20m for him, and even that would be as a squad player.

If whoever signs him gets him fit and back to his 2024 form, though, £55m will be a bargain.

23.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 17:42:53
@Chewy, who is going to pay 70-80 millions? That is the main issue. This market is only high for a few teams:

- PL's big six
- Real Madrid, Barcelona and sometimes Atletico
- PSG
- Bayern Munich
- Maybe Juventus
- Saudi teams

So, realistically our only option is Real Madrid, and I wouldn't be surprised if they are more interested in Szobo than him.

Is Real Madrid or somehow getting interest from Saudi, which I don't think he will accept.

24.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 18:17:24
Another team in Europe can quite easily have 70m to spend if they sell one of their slightly above average players to the EPL for similar money.
Madrid could sell Tchouameni for that fee and then come calling for Macca. His style of play would suit Spain, and he'd probably be OK over there.

25.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 18:17:43
I don't think Real are interested, but I do think Atletico would be.

26.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 18:14:08
Agree about his play acting but I think he was much better than you're giving him credit for in our league winning season Ed

27.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 18:20:07
Only Mac Allister and Salah earned PFA player of the year nominations for that season from our team. Only Salah had more goal contributions than Mac Allister (5 goals 5 assists), and that was with him playing deeper.

I don't like his faking injury all the time, and he was atrocious this season gone, but I do think he was an integral part of the title triumph.

{Ed001's Note - we will have to disagree on that, getting that nomination just shows what a joke these stupid individual awards are in a team sport.}

28.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 18:36:15
Only worth what someone is willing to pay, Fidby. Based upon last season, getting more now than what we paid for him would be good business.

29.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 18:42:27
If it's Madrid that want him, try wrangle £60m outa them. Think that's the max though. He can't run.

30.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 18:32:48
If anyone offered 55m for him and it were up to me, they'd be living the rest of their lives minus a hand.

31.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 19:31:48
Another season he'll be down at 25-30 tops no matter how good he might be next season. Same with Dom, maybe a little higher this time next season. In two years, Macca will be pushing 30 and Dom 28. So, I think this is MacAllister's year to move, but Dom could wait.

I think their ages give the club an advantage in being able to get a fee rather than leave for free. MacAllister will be too old and Dom will be close in 2 years time.

32.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 20:15:36
When we first signed Mac Allister under Jurgen, he was the best performing midfielder out of the 3 (Grav and Szob), but under Arne he's regressed. Is it possible that it was Arne's laidback attitude that's caused him to drop his level?
I'm hoping this is the case and that Andoni will be able to get not just Mac Allister but other players reinvigorated.

33.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 20:55:10
Gman, there is no doubt in my mind that Slot was a major issue. Just about all of our players underperformed last season. I will caveat that by saying there is no excuse for MacAllister's on field theatrics. That's not on Slot.

34.) 06 Jun 2026
06 Jun 2026 22:43:04
The thing is, if we want to get rid, then now is the best time, as he wouldn't be lined up to get a contract extension to keep his value high.

With a bit over 2 years left, and very likely him being on the bench if he stays (pending new CM arrivals), then the following season there's no way we could get anywhere near 55m for him.

We also need to understand that most teams outside of the PL pay lower wages, so teams can't pay crazy amounts on the fee and still be able to offer the player same or higher wages than they already have to convince them to make the move.

£55m sounds reasonable to me. Maybe push for 60m.

35.) 07 Jun 2026
07 Jun 2026 06:25:12
Who would pay 70 for Mac?
Well, did Barca not just pay 60-70 for Gordon?
Didn't we pay 125 for Isak, absolutely horrendous money. So, in football you never know, but if we're offered 50, take the money and run. Maybe Nyoni will step up this year. He barely got a chance under Slot, even though there were so many times he could have played him.

36.) 07 Jun 2026
07 Jun 2026 08:24:35
Gotta say I agree here.

We are about to drop 100m+ on a dude who has had one good season and won nothing ever.

Meanwhile we're happy selling a guy who's won every club and national trophy possible for half the price? That's pretty crazy.

{Ed001's Note - that just shows the stupidity of judging value based on what a team has won. Mac is not a good player, never has been, he was a very average but hard working midfielder at Brighton and the only thing that has happened at Liverpool is his work rate dipped so he was not even average any more.}

Oh, we have no attackers this year. ?
