On the parallels with United, sir alex being succeeded by david moise.
I generally believe we are in a much better position squad wise.
Sir Alex seemed to let the quality of the United squad dwindle, and was far from a great squad even though they won the league in that final year. It was probably more down to a great manager than a great squad winning that title. That team had run its coarse.
At Liverpool, the team is 3/ 4 of the way through being rebuilt and all the fresh faces are just coming into their prime.
We just need to make the right decision on who we choose to manage the club after the great man and we will be ok
Now, the emotion that is going to be on display for the remainder of this season is going to be epic! I can see something special coming that will be unforgettable.

Agreed. My Aussie wife who doesn't like any sport was a bit bewildered at my show of emotion once the news sank in. I can only imagine what it would be like to be in the crowd at the final home game.
I was a kid when shanks retired but older when Kenny stepped away. The feeling in the city was one of numbness and confusion. At least JK isn't springing an immediate bombshell.

OP in addition, Fergie was allowed to pick his successor and after PPep and Klopp rejected him, he picked Moyes. Big mistake esp. since Moyes was already struggling at Everton.
Klopp has rebuilt this team in a better position than he found it, another promise he kept so we are primed to keep progressing. It is up to the club to get the right manager (Xabi? ), get the DOF and all that sorted and we can keep it moving. Hopefully, we get it right.

Hi all. It's been a long time since I've posted anything.
Absolutely gutted!
Klopp is not only a liverpool legend but a legend of the game
This day was always getting closer but i always put it to the back of my mind because i couldn't bare to think about it and was just enjoying the ride
Its going to be a hard act to follow
Lets hope he goes out with a bang!

Can’t believe it. Hope we win something this season as I see us fading back into mediocrity after Klopp.
2.) 26 Jan 2024 12:25:56
Absolute legend and gutted like everyone else.
I do hate in the middle of a promising season a big Klopp contract announcement but I know it's usually made for planning reasons.
Still. So sad. We will realise how much of a legend he is when he s gone. Hopefully he goes out on a real high he deserves.

I thought I had been through heartbreak in my life.
Turns out I didn't even know what heartbreak was until this morning.

I hope after the weekend, the team moves forward with a chip on their shoulder and uses it as ammunition / motivation to make the most of the rest of the season. They have shown fantastic character so far. Long may it continue YNWA.
1.) 04 Oct 2023 10:11:41
Let’s just pray it hasn’t had the opposite effect.
2.) 04 Oct 2023 12:17:44
What's become apparent to me after the release of the VAR audio, is not a significant human error occurred.
But a series of significant human errors.
Plural.
Even worse.

You know what though lads, they have not had the rub of the decisions yet so far this season and still keep going - whilst the Spurs match was hard to take due to the sheer number of these calls made, I like the fact they just kept the head down and kept going.
The own goal was a horrible way for it to end but like you Mark, I hope they keep this fantastic attitude and just keep driving forward - imagine winning it all in spite of these calls lol.

Ive just realised why the club are going after endo. Its all just a smokescreen. Chelsea will come in, offer him an 8 year contract to spite us, and we will then (under the radar of chelsea of course) go after our real target. Simply genius! The club has known what they've been doing this whole time? but seriously, let's just wait and see what else the club gets done before the window closes and not slate a player when you haven't seen him play. We've all got an unexpected surprise today. Hopefully we get a couple more to fill the gaps in the squad.

Wow, im waking up on a friday morning to the possibility of basically a whole new midfield. I just hope they all gel quickly whomever eventually comes in. We need to hit the ground running.
1.) 13 Jul 2023 21:43:54
Still Thursday here mate let us know who we sign ?.
2.) 14 Jul 2023 00:01:58
Was having a good day until I realised you’ll have finished for the weekend while I’m just getting up for my Friday morning?.
3.) 14 Jul 2023 05:35:37
2:30 pm now. Week all done and dusted. Now im going to be on this site all weekend to see what happens.
4.) 14 Jul 2023 08:51:05
It's Friday somewhere, I guess.

Wouldn't liverpool have spoken to caicedo's reps to see if the player would like to join the club before making a bid?
{Ed002's Note - I am sure they would have.}
07 Jun 2023 20:46:32
Hopefully it involves thiago going the other way. He just isn't available for enough games to be relied upon.
15 Apr 2023 22:41:34
Please take it easy on me edd im genuinely asking. what's the difference between contacting a players representative to see if they are interested in moving, ballpark wages etc. And an illegal approach to a players representative? I understand that a club must ask the players club for permission to speak to player but, i've read you explain in the past that a club can approach the players representative to see if they would be interested?
{Ed002's Note - There are no illegal approaches to agents but approaches to family members is unacceptable.}

Knowing how salah gets in a strop every time he is subbed out of a game, i think Mo was probably in a strop from the time the team sheet was handed out. Klopp probably went over to him say something along the lines of "take that anger out onto the pitch" and it riled him. Either way, didn't look good and has only compounded problems from outside looking in.

Although I agree with you that a prem title was not an expectation. We were sitting on top a couple of weeks ago and the wheels have completely fallen off. So peoples frustration stems from the fact we had the title in our own hands and to put it bluntly, compitulated. I really thought this season was going to be full of emotion and full buy in from the team and fans for a manager that gave us fans and his players all he had. It has baffled me how things have turned out. At the start of the season I would have happily taken 4th place as a pass mark. I don't know how to process how the season is ending right now.

Grino, we are after 2 mids and possibly a cb. So, bringing endo in as 1 of the mids, hopefully a player coming into his prime and a cb works well. Remember, we only play with 3 mids. Mac and sob + 1 would be the starting mids. We have jones Elliott baj thiago as 8's. Endo would be backup for dm. I think the club has had to reassess multiple times this window with targets going elsewhere it would be this scattergun approach some are making it out to be.
14 Aug 2023 09:31:17
Sami. I agree. Because trent is being told to push into midfield. Instead of wide like when we were at our best a few years ago, Salah is isolated out wide it seems to me.
10 Aug 2023 08:48:56
I agree. But, the lack of signings is extremely worrisome. I check in 3 times a day thinking surely today! But i will reserve my judgement for when the window closes.
