So a question to spark a bit of discussion: if you had a choice of peak Torres or peak Salah who would you go for?

I know Salah has been exceptionally good for a lot of seasons whereas Torres really only had 3 when he was exceptional but God Almighty peak Torres was something else!

I loved when we got Torres. I hated how Torres forced his way out (even though I believe he was finished after his injuries!

Salah, Torres was great but salah tips it for me. I’d take Suarez over both of them.

I mean to be fair Torres only had one exceptional season with Liverpool, his first. In his next two seasons he was good when he played but he only played 24 and then 22 league games. If Torres plays 35+ league games in the 08/ 09 season Liverpool win the league. Torres is one of my favourite Liverpool players this century but any comparison between him and Salah is no contest, Salah is miles clear.

Torres the better finisher, more of a threat in the air. He was strong, had pace to burn and could dribble. His timing of runs was of the highest standard too.
Id still pick Salah. Better dribbler, offers more of a long range threat, offers goals in similar to better numbers compared to peak Torres as well as assists in steady and this season increasing rates.
For me you throw in the fitness levels Mo has shown since his arrival at the club and that makes my mind up for me.

Salah. He's a better player than Torres was. Pegleg mentions Suarez, but Salah is at least on par with him and comes without the baggage. So still Salah.

The only players I'd think about taking ahead of Salah would be the guys of the calibre of Rush, Barnes, Dalglish and peak Fowler.

I absolutely loved Torres. I've genuinely never been that excited about a new signing before or since, and he didn't disappoint.
That being said, I'd have Salah over Torres all day every day, different class.

Torres was great and Suarez had his own qualities but nobody can replicate what Salah has done, his goals and consistency over a long period. Hands down for me.

It’s quite an easy one that.
And that’s not me being harsh on Torres, I thought he was an unbelievable player and really entertaining to watch as well, one of my favourites.
But yeah Salah, he hit a higher ceiling for me.

To the point of being a beautiful person, if anyone needs to reflect an opinion on the current Israel/ Palestine conflict, Mo's IG post is probably the most heartfelt and honest viewpoint that tends to the humanity, rather than the politics. Not a single mention of who's right and who's wrong, just a simple message to draw attention to the human suffering and how we should want to work towards peace for all. You can sense the heartbreak in his voice, and it made me pause for a moment and reframe from the traditional orthodoxy to somewhere more hopeful of our future if we have individuals like him using their platform for the greater good.

Torres was here for 3 and a half seasons and only had one outstanding season which was his first and he went downhill after there even tho, I still love him to bits, departure methods notwithstanding.

Salah is in his 7th season and still doing bits and is arguably the best player playing in England right now. This is not even a debate at this point, IMO. Salah all day, everyday.
