Could we be bringing in two Rayans this coming January? Indy reporting interest in Rayan Ait-Nouri. I wouldn’t be against the idea.

Why on earth would we want one of the worst LBs in the Premier League?
He’s injury prone, never bothers to track back, can’t defend on the odd occasion he is in position, loses possession by just dribbling down blind alleys, doesn’t track runners, never wins headers and has the passing range of a teaspoon.
Honestly, this might be the worst player we’ve been linked to since the Hodgson days.

MK, not sure if he is as bad as you said he is.
But when I looked closely at how he played when we were linked earlier to him and Kerkez, I was happy we went for Kerkez.
But seeing how Kerkez is doing, I questioned my earlier judgement, you know.
I think the problem is that we have been spoilt. Robbo was so good, that any comparison just paled.
I do wish we looked at another set of fullbacks over time.

Ait Nouri is much worse than Kerkez. He also NEVER pocketed Salah whatsoever. Easy to look like that when Salah is triple marked.

We do like to exaggerate on here, don’t we!
He’s a left back that goes forward quite well and doesn’t defend so well going back the other way - the league is full of them. We have 2 ourselves. Wouldn’t be someone I would sign, but not considerably better / worse than Kerkez or Frimpong.

Give Kerkez some more time under Iraola FFS, he was hands down the best left back in the league in his last season at Bournemouth under Iraola. Let's give him a bit more time.
On the other hand, Frimpong... I'm still yet to be convinced (despite his likeability)

I think Frimpong could maybe play right wing in cup games or come on at end of games to add some pace. I think Araujo looks so much more comfortable at right back.
As a team, we just looked so much more solid with Araujo at right back. I know the sample size is small, but I can see the same team sheet for Fulham game all being well.

I would say that he's almost certainly better at football than most, if not all, of the posters on this site.
However, as Premier League footballers go he's just not very good imo. He barely got a game at city last season and hasn't played a minute this one. Hard pass for me.

Would be a very strange signing indeed.
If we look to add an LB next season, I suspect we will be looking at a youngster to deputise and challenge Kerkez, and/or look for a slightly different profile that can invert into midfield/play LCB.

He can be a terrible defender but a good footballer. He is a LW originally but got moved further and further back because of being too flashy with no end product. All the teams he played for he played in a back 5 because he can't defend until City, where he almost never plays anymore. Tottenham type player all day long.

It was only half a joke, Fly. I don’t want either Rayan at the club because they’re both crap, but not wanting to be horrible, I made up a flippant reason. If it made you smile, then great, if not, then that’s great too.
As for the lose vs loose debate, I’m deadly serious. I lose all respect for anyone whose spelling and grammar are so loose that they can’t spell lose.

Air-Nouri did pocket Salah one game though, that is genuinely true. I remember the game Florian Musiala is referencing. I also remember being absolutely livid with how badly Salah played in that game, and coming on here to many people saying Salah was finished and that he should be sold to Saudi for whatever we could get. Even the greatest sometimes have absolute stinkers, I guess.
Ait-Nouri is an awful player nonetheless; one swallow does not a summer make. City got stung badly.

Defiantly (definitely) is the one that irks me the most. The root word is finite; it's already bad enough that some people spell it "definately", let alone a completely different word in "defiantly".
Another one that really bugs me, but more so for pedantry, is "nauseous". Something that is nauseous can make you feel nauseated; you cannot feel nauseous.
The word has been misused for so long that its new meaning has been added to the dictionary. I'm all for language evolving, but it should evolve due to new words being formed rather than people having poor vocabulary.

Ait-Nouri is awful at defending and I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.
Remember because we think Kerkez is poor doesn't automatically mean we should just go get any guy to replace him.
Said LB has to be of the level to drastically improve us and sorry, Ait-Nouri ain't been it since his Wolves days where he was an actual wingback, not a RB for the most part.
