I’d take Van Arnholt at left back, lightning quick and good going forward, real upgrade on our two incumbents
Did anyone see Shelvey and Van Arnholt “hugging” each other outside the D as the pen was taken? Bizarre.

1.) 04 Feb 2018 20:32:12
Van Aanholt is shocking and can’t defend, he is fast and scored a few at Sunderland but he’s just not a good defender.
I don’t rate either of our left backs but he’s worse than both.

2.) 04 Feb 2018 21:38:30
Sono, Van Aanholt can't defend against a chair, always out of position and lacks any positioning and awareness defensively. He's a MOTD type player and that is it. You prolly wanna move on from such players.

3.) 05 Feb 2018 11:20:18
Thought Chelsea’s loaned Kennedy looked good, never seen him play previously and was against Palace so not solid competition!
Can’t remember what the fuss he caused in the summer that he apologised for, but looked like a player.

4.) 05 Feb 2018 11:37:45
Also, LB is currently one of our strongest positions - Moreno still coming back from injury but has looked good all season up to then and Robertson showing he can be as solid and reliable as anyone.

Sorry Ed1 the tree lights need to go ☹️.

{Ed001's Note - that's the positive part as the tree was in the way...}

We can’t grumble without being hypocritical given we do the same to Southampton every season.
Not hacked off with Barcelona however like the Saints fans are with us I’m just disappointed that players now force their way out by holding clubs to ransom.
That said the lad played very well for us most of the time and I guess our reward for giving him the opportunity is the huge profit we have made.
It would be a beautiful irony if we drew Barcelona and knocked them out with Coutinho looking on from the stands 🤞🏻.

1.) 06 Jan 2018 20:34:20
It’s just the way Football is. Get an adequate replacement and use the money well and move on.

27 Dec 2017 21:56:58
Anyone else feel like I do that announcing the VVD deal so early is a precept to Coutinho leaving? Just feels like we can only spend £75m on a defender if there’s big money incoming.
Pleased that we appear to have improved the CB position but gutted about Coutinho (even though he has been a very naughty boy. then again Torres, Mascherano, Suarez all did the same to leave us and Mcmanaman was even worse)

{Ed002's Note - There have been a whole load of transfers agreed and announced.}

I think given the season thus far today was better than expected.
Typical Mourinho but hey he is a pragmatist and won't change.
I always thought we would not be able to beat De Gea as our finishing and decision making is poor.
Fantastic to get a clean sheet and to be honest I feel this was Mourinho accepting his team probably aren't good enough to go toe to toe, particularly without Pogba.
Lukaku first big test, came up short, if he'd played for the dominant side today he would have scored.
I still feel the quality of the league is poor as City are vulnerable at the back but there's no one laying a glove on them. Utd will be top 3 as they have the power to dispatch the poor sides and will draw away against the better ones.
We need a striker in Jan plus VVD and e can also finish top 4. Thought Salah was immense today, apart from taking the ball off Coutinho's foot when he was certain to score.
Our problem remains against the other dozen or so not the top 6. I expect us to beat Spurs next week, 4 Pts from 6 in these two tough fixtures would be more than acceptable.

1.) 14 Oct 2017 22:04:24
Spurs will not be easy, my friend. But on your post, I propose that people get used to this type for football from Mou when Utd come into town. This is the new normal and though we had chances, we were a bit disjointed in the final third. We are tied with Chelsea and Arsenal on points and are 4 off of Spurs so we are definitely in the mix for top 4. The title? I say we put that on the back burner for now.

{Ed025's Note - i agree bingo..

2.) 14 Oct 2017 22:05:11
You are happy with a draw tonight while fully confident we would beat Spurs lol! Hindsight is a good thing as well hope, But football doesn’t work on these two I am afraid. Spurs are one of the most complete team in England! World class at the back and has the best striker in England up top! You seriously expect us to beat them 😂😂😂😂😂. FYR, Harry Kane is not Lukaku! He is a real striker!

3.) 14 Oct 2017 23:14:02
Yeah Spurs will be very difficult, tbh I expect nothing out the game, anything more is a bonus. They are top quality with a great manager, they will get top 4 and will be a hard game, a very hard game, credit where credit is due, we can't be blind and say we're going to steam roll them because we wont. If we win, fantastic, but it won;t be easy.

4.) 14 Oct 2017 23:17:09
I do, super Harry didn't score today v Bournemouth and today was their first home win. do your research Kane is scoring away not at home.

5.) 15 Oct 2017 00:11:50
You can't write him off sonofklopp, he's in great form, give him a chance and he'll put 1 + past us, with our defence it's not hard to do mate. Just because he didn't score against Bournemouth doesn't mean he won't against us. I'm not saying he will, we can't possible know that, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised if he did.

6.) 15 Oct 2017 04:39:21
If Spurs are such a complete team then why have they won nothing?

Maybe try actually supporting your team, nothing is won in October.

7.) 15 Oct 2017 06:59:55
I'm not writing him off, merely presenting the current form and stating Spurs are still struggling to come to terms with the Wembley factor, other teams enjoy playing there.
Lukaku was supposed to score easily against us as well but that never happened.
Sure Spurs will go at us but we've dominated them at there place the last two seasons and only got a point, we are due an away win against them.
I'm not suggesting all our problems have gone overnight, merely that we are still a threat in those against the top 6.
Well those who actually come out of their own half and play 😜 Mourinho's 9 strikers turned into 9 defenders, he's such a wind up merchant.

8.) 15 Oct 2017 08:05:19
Sono and Corleone are both correct. Spurs don't like playing us as we are the ONLY team they struggle against. In fact, they are yet to beat us in 5 years in all comps. (9 PL games) and at Wembley, it won't be easy for either team BUT esp. for Spurs. It will be a good game and I back our team to win PROVIDED we can keep it tight at the back and keep an eye on Harry Kane.

Harry is correct that Spurs are one of the most complete teams in the league and YES, they are yet to win a sausage since Poch has been there (he's been there longer than Klopp), Two things can be right at the same time.

{Ed025's Note - im a big fan of poch bingo, he may not have won anything yet but his team play lovely football and surely its only a matter of time..

9.) 15 Oct 2017 08:42:22
Klopp pep pooch Wegener conte and koeman play football no matter home or away Jose s a winner but my god it's shocking to watch . Sly sports may stop there stupid week build up of liverpool v man u because yesterday and last year is the future they should show just 1 minute highlights.

All good points MK, I think I’ll post with grown ups as Jcrow Junior seems to think I don’t know what I’m talking about over on the kiddies match post pages where I have posted identical comments to this thread 🙄🤐.
