Seeing news all over social media that Mount is off to Liverpool in the summer - any truth in it fo yous know lads, or the usual clickbait nonsense?

Awk I'd like him personally as I've said - would obviously still love Bellingham too. Would Bellingham, Mount and a back to form Fabinho work as a midfield 3?

Mount, Bellingham, Fabinho, Bacjetic, Henderson, Elliott the midfield options - add to that Thiago, Jones and Milner - do they stay or go? Lots of options, but we shouldn't be afraid of letting some go

Milner not getting any younger, has Jones really pushed on since breaking into the team? Thiago? Cracking player when fit and firing, but does he fit what we need from our midfield? Again injuries an issue, but is great to have a player like him at the club, can only help the likes of Elliott and Bacjetic

Also, we've a couple of young lads out on loan - anybody know how they are doing? Surely if we kept them at the club they could cover the minutes Ox and Keita would have gotten. Plus I'd like to see Elliott covering Salah for a few games tbh, can do a good job in the 2 positions imo.

Bill, I think it must be Bellingham or Mount - not both. I don’t see a system that includes both unless we go with only two up front and a box midfield four. That would be a waste of our firepower.

We need a couple of combative mids with third lungs to add to the options. Though, I’m not sure that’s what the boss thinks.

Aye FPF, I'm not sure either tbh, but Mount and Bellingham are both very hardworking midfielders that's why I was asking would a midfield 3 of those 2 plus a Fabinho back in form work?

They both cover a lot of ground, both could be very good in a Klopp midfield, but would it work together?

Would surely be better than we've seen this season wouldn't it?

I think amount and Bellingham could play in midfield three together. Would certainly add to our running power. Bellingham as the hendo replacement mount in place of Thiago add Fabs or Bajcetic as 6……. that’s a solid Klopp midfield.

When was the last time we had a left footed midfielder actually play on the left of the midfield 3? Certainly not Gini, Millie or Thiago.

Bill - have you seen Mount play in a three without having two more defensive-minded midfielders behind him at Chelsea? The answer to that is no.

Working hard is one thing. Having the physical capacity and defensive nouse to cover our marauding fullbacks is another.

Unless we're changing system to a double-pivot with two more advanced midfielders in Jude and Mason, then I cannot see how they both fit.

Never seen mount play centre midfield he's far too light weight. He's usually left of the front three.

Irish it’s a strange one because Elliot is left Footed but plays on the right of midfield.

Irish, JK - I suspect it's the current thinking in modern football to make room for fullbacks to attack space while naturally squeezing the middle of the pitch.

Also, if they have a good shot on them, you might find they are more useful on the opposite side of midfield too.

Xhaka is the only left footed player I can think of off the top of my head, but then Arsenal have an abnormal number of lefties in their squad - Xhaka, Odegaard, Zinchenko, Tierney, Saka, Viera.

Perhaps tactics will change again as time passes. Fullbacks have a lot of work to do in today's game. Guardiola is always tinkering with his fullbacks.

Couldn’t agree more with Fly there. That is why we should be looking at Kone or Caicedo.

Fabinho has been playing like this for 12 months he’s not out of form he’s finished. Need to move him on and get a DM. Gladly take Mount on top of that though.

I feel with a tight budget that if we get Bellingham our second midfield choice should be a mobile defensive midfielder to add some balance in the middle of the park. Now whoever that defensive midfielder is, I don’t know. But if it were down to me I would be going all out for Caicedo alongside Bellingham.

Caicedo - now we're cooking, Alonso1786.

Caicedo would be a good shout. I am a bit hesitant however due to his behaviour during the January transfer window. I mean, I get that he is desperate to leave and move to a bigger club but making a public plea for Brighton to leave doesn't sit well with me. It does show a lack of respect for the club that groomed him and gave him a chance to shine and he may do it again if/ when he wants to leave in the future.

Didn’t Caciedo sign a new bumper contract last month?

Doesn’t mean that he won’t be sold but surely means his selling price will have significantly increased.

Caciedo did sign a bumper contract, but not sure about him tbh

Mount has played a midfield 3, has also played further forward so could provide cover if needed do versatile

FPF, Chelsea simply play different to us - if we only looked at players that played in the exact same system we play, it would hardly give us a large player pool to look at would it?

I mean seriously? Isn't the whole point of scouting players to look at attributes they have and a good attitude do you could best integrate them into your team? I mean: good attitude, hard working, energetic, never stops running or helping out team mates, gets the ball forward quickly, likes the forward play, has an eye for goal - I mean surely attributes there we want in our midfield?

I find the argument for another defensive midfielder odd - haven't all the criticisms of this midfield over the last few years been about no assists, no goals, backwards passing etc?

If we sold Fabinho then yes I would get it - he's had a bad season, is that due to a newborn though? Has he earned the right to prove himself next season?

Mount, Bellingham and a back to form Fabinho would be a great midfield imo

The big issue will be tactics. Trent keeps cutting into midfield, wtf is that? Hug the line, get the crosses in. Why does Salah stay so wide then? Need just to reset this tweak imo, get Trent and Salah back to their best, get an energetic, pressing team again and we'll be grand I think - no huge rebuild needed, about 2 new midfielders, a new starting cb and the tweaks as mentioned and I think we'll be good next season.

Certain Nunes is being looked at as a DM. Would then make more sense adding JB and Mount. More than enough for midfield. A CB like Schuurs/ NDicka and RB cover like a cheaper Frimpong we're done. A back up keeper on lower wages than Adrian like Zieler. No idea on money, with CL may be possible.
