In the absence of club football for a bit, I'll engage in my second favourite sport: Laughing at Manchester United.

Seems Ronnie has gone to the media (Piers Morgan of all people) with a big sob story interview about how mean everyone at Man United has been to him and how he didn't respect Rangnick and doesn't respect ten Hag. Due to come out during the week, but football twitter is already leaking juicy quotes. I'm sure that'll do wonders for the United dressing room. Too bad they're not playing for another 5 weeks.

If United can't find someone willing to take on that ego in Jan, they're going to just have to pay him off to get rid of him. Half a year at £520k p/ w. Only about £13m or so. Puts Keita in perspective doesn't it?

Great signing though. Missing piece and all that.

{Ed014's Note - I think it shows how piss weak ETH is that he gave that clown the armband after he stropped off and refused to come on as a sub.

Its does not have to do anything with keita. Despite everything ronaldo scored 24 goals last seasons and carried united. It was a bad decision and everybody knew it inside and outside.
Keita on the other side was touted to be the next big thing and generational talent and has been anything but. the biggest fail Liverpool has ever seen. Perhaps the biggest premier league failure ever at 60 million odd and 130k a week! Puts things into perpective that fsg has put nearly 180 million into the midfield since they have been here and we haven't got it right either.

A first league title in 30 years, three champions league finals, multiple trophies won but we’ve never had a decent midfield? Brainless.

Ronaldo called a spade a spade more or less said Utd is a kip hasn’t changed.

Keita is Liverpool's worst signing in my opinion but i think some other clubs can top it.

Lukaku -> Chelsea £120m
Maguire -> United £85m
Pepe -> Arsenal £72m
Ndombele -> Spurs £60m
Mendy -> City £50m
Sigurdsson -> Everton £50m

Also disagree on the midfield comment FSG don't pick transfers for one thing, but also during their tenure we've signed Hendo, Milner, Coutinho, Wijnaldum, Fabinho and Thiago. All were relatively successful in my opinion.

I'll give you Adam, Allen, Sahin, Keita, Ox, Can etc.

Keita and Ronaldo? Not sure they belong in the same sentence and should never be, IMO. At least, Ronaldo keeps himself fit and ready to go hence, he's rarely ever injured. Keita couldn't even be arsed to do the very basics of pro sports and keep himself fit as a pro athlete. Apples to Avocados, really.

As for Ronaldo, we all know how this would end so not sure why people are surprised. Ten Hag? Pls, the guy has no power at all. Fergie still patrols the training ground and Ronaldo's only there cos Fergie put his foot down and Utd made the move. That's it, IMO.

@Akira, League Cup, F A Cup, premier League, Champions League, World Club Champions plus European Super cup winners and Charity Shield winners. The team collectively have had a relatively poor start to the season but we are showing signs of getting our act together and Arsenal are no further ahead of us than Citeh around Christmas last year and Arsenal will have a wobble or two before things are done this season.

So, I don’t see how the thread gets from Ronaldo telling his version of the truth to Liverpool FC ‘not getting it right’ in two posts. This season’s slow start aside (and we’ve won our last four games btw) what didn’t the club get right?

Ronaldo makes it about him again. He's getting towards the end of his career and wants to make it about him and bite the hand that's fed him for the last year or so and the club that built the foundation for him.

The timing of it all shows that it's purely about him and with Piers Morgan? Pathetic.

If any of our players acted like thag I'd want them booted at the earliest opportunity.

And there's no argument for him being mis-quoted, it was on Sky Sports last night.

Basically went in on them for not changing over the last 13 years and choosing Ralf. Which might be true, but there is a time and a place for it and it's not, just as the team breaks for the W/ C. Didn't hear anything about Ole which is surprising, maybe has something to do with allowing him to call the shots?

We don’t know the ins and outs of it, but it’s a dreadful shame to read this stuff this morning.
Both for the player, one of the GOAT, and a great football club.

The comment was in terms of the money being 'wasted' on a player needs to be shipped asap. £520k a week vs. £160k or so. Maybe it was a bit pointless in retrospect.

He can complain about how bad Utd are set up with validity, but it was hardly a secret in football that the club was not being run well. So why did he go there? Oh yeah, to make it all about him. Probably thought they'd change up everything for him.

After the first paragraph I don't know why but I was genuinely thinking Ronnie Whelan. LoL.

I had serious questions running around my head
1. The rivalry extends to being mean to ex pros?
2. They are being mean to him while he's doing punditry or something?
3. Ronnie Whelan went to Piers Morgan with an interview how Man United are mean to him?

Man I chuckled while reading the second paragraph after realizing my mistake. I love when my own stupidity makes me laugh. Happens too often though.

I think there's only one reason Ronny is crying off like he is: he's petrified Messi breaks his CL goal scoring record and he's desperate to get out and sign for a CL club on a free in Jan after united tear up his contract. I think any team taking him would have to be absolutely mad. I hope united make him rot in the reserves for the rest of the season.

People will never learn - it’s not about how much you spend on a player. It’s spending what money is needed on the right player.

Milner will be remembered as a Liverpool legend and one of the greats. He was on a free.

Ronaldo has told it like it is he was promised the world to return to united and was let down bit like Torres with us only Torres said nothing until he retired.
Ten hag wants to be seen as the new ferguson so has challenged the highest profile player at their club and CR won't let it happen and i think in a few months time when he goes he will open up about united and undermine ten hag once more.
