Anyone know if there is any truth to the whole Suarez rumour that is spreading? (Suarez to Liverpool rumour - just to be clear)

Roy

{Ed033's Note - Liverpool juvenile detention center?

1.) 08 Jan 2018 16:30:59
He is apparently joining the local waterpark replacing Shamu, the killer whale.

2.) 08 Jan 2018 17:39:47
It's an idea that seems to have come from a Spanish on-line magazine called Diario Gol that was in turn re-gurgitated by the UK's Express newspaper.

Is groundless speculation that because of Coutinho, one of Barca's front line will have to leave to make room and he (Suarez) is probably the easiest to move.

3.) 08 Jan 2018 22:38:03
I'd avoid that little snake like the plague! Did so much to drag our great club through the mud and that's enough reason to keep well away for me!

4.) 08 Jan 2018 23:08:12
I really don't understand the vitriol aimed at ex players that move on.

Ed001,
Sorry if you were asked this since yesterday . I searched and did n't see anything. what's your thoughts on the Lucas situation yesterday. On one hand it seems to me we were putting him in the shop window on display, I never thought our club will ever do that, not in the big games anyway.
On the other hand however, I can buy that Rodgers wants to protect him and use him for the big games only, but his substitution would suggests there is some fitness/injury issue they being careful with?? Do you know any more on this ?

Roy

{Ed001's Note - he was not playing to go into the shop window, he was there because Rodgers felt he was the best available option.}

We've created loads of chances (more than 50 in the last 2 games)
=============================================
But yet we scored one. that's is not a positive, you can excuse it if it happens every now and then and put it to bad day/ luck . but this is happening over a couple of seasons now, we have one of the worst chances to conversion ratio . its clearly a problem.

Roy

1.) 19 Sep 2017 22:53:43
It happened last year as well, meant problems because when can't take chances opposition always look capable of a goal or two. Really need something to happen with at least one of Sturridge, Ings and Solanke unfortunately they are all in a situation where they need time and matches.

2.) 20 Sep 2017 03:27:54
50 shots does not mean 50 "chances" in the sense that they should've scored. Sure we have missed some good opportunities but many of those shots were rarely ever going to go in. The attack is going to be fine. They all look a bit disoriented right now; no one seems to really know their role. I'm as nervous as the next guy but we got to stay positive folks. Coutinho finding form will help us, I just worry he may not find it.

{Ed002's Note -
Liverpool's reputation within the business is poor and what little respect clubs had for them went with
}

I agree with you Ed002 and this is something I posted many times in the last couple of years. But what I don't understand is why? who is making these stupid decisions, tapping players and offering ridiculous amounts way below the sellers valuations . on the other hand we go and pay over the odds for other players . I can't figure out how the club is run these days .

Roy

1.) 13 Jun 2016 02:39:03
I think ed002 has it spot on with his assessment, there is no one individual that is the problem.
Klopp has been tapping up players, the question is why isn't anyone clamping down on it and telling him to stop.
I can only imagine it's Ayre who low-balls teams for players we're interested in/ tapping up. Again, the question is why hasn't anything been done about it?
The fans have to take responsibility for their behaviour at the European games against Man Utd. 'Hate chants' are pointless and self defeating. Focus on our players and chant to inspire them. Setting off flares and vandalism is just mindless. As a group of fans, we ought to be better than that and the vast majority are. We used to self-police in the past but some of that has long gone.

With the exception of the fans, I'd like to know what Michael Gordon is thinking. Obviously Ayre is moving on and there must be someone else coming in. The new person needs to start rebuilding our reputation immediately. With respect to Klopp and his tapping up, Mr Gordon really needs to get a grip on this as it ultimately costs LFC.

2.) 13 Jun 2016 06:35:29
When you don't appoint the right people at the top of the tree, then it has a ripple effect all the way thru the club. You only have to look at some of the chaotic appointments since Fsg have been in charge and the damaging effect it has had on the club and on the pitch. Starting with Commoli all the way to Rodgers and other personnel in between (not just managers) . For instance we are told that clubs have lost all respect for Lfc after their treatment of Bolton and Jay Spearing, could you imagine this happening 10 years ago. I certainly couldnt.

{Ed001's Note - 10 years ago I could. In fact any time since Moores stepped in I could imagine it, as we have been purely run since his days. Before then, no, the fee would have been waived and Jay allowed to get on with his career. If the club wanted to maximise the money, they could have easily negotiated a future fee due on a later sale of the lad or something, though personally I think they should have just let it go and wish the lad all the best.}

19 Jan 2016 22:21:51
{Ed001's Note - I would prefer us to make use of what we have. This season was never going to amount to anything due to starting it with Rodgers in charge, it should give Klopp free reign to just look at the kids in competitive matches with no pressure.
===========================

LFC can't have a nothing season, we need to be in Europe next season, CL or EL, our finances and sponsorship dependant on it . I agree with you, Long is not the answer in my opinion, but someone somewhere convinced Klopp that Long fits the profile, and in his first season you can't blame the manager for not arguing . As I posted before when Klopp was hired, our problems is not just the manager, there are many others that need showing the door in positions around him and in top of him.

Roy

{Ed001's Note - none of our sponsorship is dependent on European competition and we are financially struggling regardless.}

Some of todays posts sounded very familiar, so a little digging in this wonderful website I found the following comments from the 1st June 2012

{Ed016's Note - there is another interview of him somewhere, he is talking about N. Ireland football and what he looks at in a player. Its an older interview but it also instills faith in the new man. Seems very confident. Understands his place and the job that is expected at Liverpool. Exciting times, let's hope he gets the transfers right, I am sure he will.}

Welcome to the family Brendan, once in, you can never leave. -- {My comment: Unless we make every effort to get you chucked out}

Still gutted that Kenny has gone but have to say great appointment. There is something about this guy and love his footballing philosophy. Now it's down to the owners to back their man with money and time and us fans to show patience

getting b Rogers was a very good move, there is definantly some thing specail about him.

I am an older liverpool fan and think that rodgers will be good given time . there is an aura about the man almost steely lookin, it takes me back to the day were shanks picked up the reins, self assured positive, die for the cause and so on

A bright intelligent coach who can grow with the team and mould it the way he wants. Although we have seen a similar model fail with AVB at Chelsea, Although i don't think our Chairmen will Panic like Roman.
Too early to draw comparisons but he didn't seem overawed by the occasion and knows he as job to do, as did Shankly.

Uncertainty causes error. Believe and support Rodgers, do not be put off by media flops such as lawro and mobly' I believe Rodgers will return us to greatness again if fully supported. A charasmatic man, he will bring an estute style of play back to anfield that will give us a real chance to succeed

Roy

1.) 09 Oct 2015 22:19:25
I'm glad that while some were posting these comments my comments were
Not sure about this appointment sounds like a snake oil salesman to me

2.) 09 Oct 2015 22:50:01
Have to agree you were right Chris. I was looking forward to him but was blinkered and probably desperate for a new great hope. Take my hat off to only the few who have called him out since day one. You know who you who you are and may have been banned sometimes. Maybe it didn't waront it

3.) 09 Oct 2015 23:46:28
I'm sure many were unsure when he was put in charge. But backed him until he gave us a reason to stop.

4.) 10 Oct 2015 00:07:07
Rogers said all the right things. but he dicided not to follow through. Like ed001 said he is more intrested in getting a spray tan than doing his job. Klopp (i hope) is not just spouting bulls*** as brenden did! Everyone who knows him and has worked with him has nothing but positive words to say about him!
Also has klopp not allready orginised to watch the reservs. something i don't think rogers ever did!

5.) 10 Oct 2015 00:16:07
Pretty much any manager is going to get support and a chance to succeed because that's what we all want for the club. Seems the general consensus was he needs time and money. He had both and failed unfortunately. We also didn't expect his ego to grow exponentially either.

6.) 10 Oct 2015 01:42:53
BR managed to fool us and the management and the board with his rehearsed platitudes and philosophical drivel only for us to learn later that he couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag without Bielsa or Basel's tactics holding his hand tactically. Watch BR's interview and Klopp's interview and the difference is as clear as night and day.

25 Mar 2015 23:58:10
Few weeks back I done a comparison after 20 games, so thought will do it again after 30.
Last season after 30 games played:
65 points scored 82 conceded 38 Sitting strong in second place.
This season :
54 points scored 44 conceded 32 Sitting in disappointed fifth place.

As I posted then, our defence is not great, but its not the reason for our decline from last year, its the lack of goal scoring up front. (and no I am not expecting 82 goals, but we should do a bit better than 52% of what we scored last year)

Roy

1.) 26 Mar 2015 07:00:33
Sold the best striker in the world and signed Balotelli and Rickie Lambert. That pretty much sums up where we are as a club at the minute. The fingers should be pointed at everyone who let this happen, this committee,, and everyone on it.
Or was it Raheem Sterlings fault ?

2.) 26 Mar 2015 08:44:45
at least the defence has improved

3.) 26 Mar 2015 11:32:09
Lavers, you're definitely a glass half full man, aren't you?!

lol!

4.) 26 Mar 2015 12:35:49
zeddicus
you've always got to try and look on the brighter side of life lol

5.) 26 Mar 2015 17:08:09
He should be getting the sack for that alone, DBol. Or may be his apologists will excuse him by saying he lost both strikers yet did NOTHING to adequately replace them after rejecting Remy, Lacazette, Bony and many others (Per Ed01) and ended up with Lambo and Balo.

6.) 26 Mar 2015 19:14:52
Roy mate.
A lot of us on here questioned where the goals were going to come from once Suarez was sold.
A few even mentioned Sturidges injury record, and God forbid if he gets injured??
As they say the rest is history.

So what do a few fans on this site know??
it seems more than the transfer comitee, who replaced all those missing goals with. ? Strikers that aren't good enough. Period 😡😡😡😡😡

7.) 26 Mar 2015 21:29:28
well said Phooey, and to replace the best striker in the premiership with two strikers who do NOT fit our style, only shows were we will finish this season, and maybe next, not in the top four and no cup-final, this is what we can all see, what do this so called transfer committee see .

8.) 27 Mar 2015 10:39:23
So a goal difference last season of +44 comapred with +12 this season? That is pretty stark - the failure to buy a quality replacement for Suarez is going to cost Rodgers dearly.

9.) 27 Mar 2015 15:13:29
yes and it will cost him his job, because when we finish 5/6th and dumped out of FA Cup, the fans and media will turn on him, giving our owners no choice but to replace him .

> but how do you keep people happy on the bench if they just stay on the bench even if they perform?
=========================
Because they know its a long season with a lot of games and they will have their chances . Klopp decides which player to use pending fitness and opposition, yesterday Ox did very well because Genk gave him the time and space he needs, which is not easy in the PL, also if you watch back, he hardly pressed, which is needed for our game in the premier league.

What’s impressive about Klopp’s management is that he is very open minded to new ideas, particularly at his age
================
He is only 52 . we are young and full of life at this young age .
Also he is a scientist, and us scientists always looking for new ways to improve something or introduce something.

It's very possible that we would loose today . and no it won't be the end of the world . there will still be more than enough games to top the group.

Not sure about that we started last season very strong . As Drogie pointed out Napoli defence very suspect but they have been scoring loads of goals .
should be an existing game.

Thanks Ed002, I understand its a proposal, I was pointing out the essence of this proposal is not fair . If its tough cow dung for one, it should be the same tough manure for everyone.
Every PL manager complains the season is too long, so adding 4 extra games is just insane. If I know who to call, I would suggest if we are at a point to void the season, we should reset it instead, same 20 PL teams, maybe financially compensate Leeds, Westbrom and probably the 4 teams below them. I would even put a transfer ban for the summer so the reset point as close as possible to last year.

Roy

{Ed002's Note - I am afraid you are living in a fantasy world transfer ban for the PL?}

{Ed025's Note - mathematically so can liverpool roy, you can't guess mate.
=============================
I said "realistically" not certainly . though for it not to happen needs perfect record from City (Yes I know they capable) , but also needs Liverpool to loose all games bar one . I mean I know Liverpool may have a dip in form but I doubt them loosing 8 out of 9 games do you?

Roy

{Ed002's Note - It is a proposal Roy, everyone would like to finish the season. If that is not possible, there needs to be a solution - and if it comes to it this is a proposal that the Premier League might want to take a majority vote on. If Liverpool then want to ask to be given the title, the Premier League would have to go down the road of having a black ball vote - but I doubt Liverpool would do that.}

Hiya Ed002, Do you know why Liverpool agreed to such a proposal/ option?
Irish is right, its unfair on the team that is setting at the top of PL with such a points gap that realistically no one can catch. Probably the only team that deserve given a reward . Both Leeds and Westbrom can be overtaken . I find it very strange.

Playing behind closed doors is no longer an option . Even with no spectators there will at least be over 100 people (players, subs coaches, medics, pen pushers, TV etc etc) involved and present.

I don't think Brady and the Villa owner care much about Liverpool winning the title. again we are not the centre of the Universe, they want the season void so they can avoid relegation and have another year in the PL.
