Hi Guys

I have no rumour so I hope you will not delete it. I am turning to you with one specia question. And the reason is that I think and hope you have the right knowledge. My son (btw huge LFC fun since he was born) plays under U10 ( a year older age group) in DAC, Slovakia and he’s a very good little player with good tech. skill and amazing left foot. He exceled in his age group U9 in Šala where we started, was moved to U10 and as the only player trained regularly with U11. Several clubs such as FC Nitra, ETO Gyor (Hungary) showed intrrest already, but we chosen DAC over them mainly due to logistics, club history, fantastic fans, great coaching team and conditions within the youth setup. However the whole family being Liverpool fans, our little Domink’s (born in Warrington, UK) dream is to get one day to LFC. My question is whether there is any chance a player of his age can be picked up by scouts at early age and offered an opportunity to join the Liverpool boys for few sessions or something? This would be an amazing opportunity, huge inspiration and would also boost confidence too. I know they do the youth camps but that seem to be more about PR and also money ( it cost a lof money, so it allows only the richer families/ kids to get there) . I however might be wrong. Can you guys recommend what the right approach is and help to answer my questions please? I do apologize for the long mail. I know you have many to reply to and have deal with many unpleasant posters too. If you could reply just to me ( without posting it) I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much.

{Ed001's Note - at that age, unless they stand out like a young Messi etc, there is very little chance of a youngster out there being spotted by Liverpool. Even less chance of them being offered anything tangible by the club. Like your choice to join DAC, it is mainly logistics, as kids of that age that show talent very rarely go on to be the ones that make it. It is usually the late bloomers that go on to make it at the top end, as they have to continually prove themselves to stay in the system. With academies being very limited to places and who they can offer them to, there is little benefit to clubs in doing anything other than the camps and branded academy offshoots. Any players they do find are more of a bonus than the aim of the exercise unfortunately.}
