Really proud of a lot of performances, but especially impressed that Haaland was a non-factor. Even got him frustrated enough to get into a shoving match with Gomez.

Quansah stepped up, the midfield was superb, Elliot was everywhere, and Nunez was a constant threat. I was very impressed with the performance.

Mix of emotions. Proud of the boys because we ABSOLUTELY BATTERED City. To the point we had Pep doing those weird subs he used to do years back. Played them off the park in my opinion and if the chances fell to a full fit Salah or Nunez instead of Diaz we could and should have beaten them by 4 or 5. Disappointed at the draw but proud of the boys. And as for the Doku penalty. It was stone wall penalty every day of the week and I ain’t hearing anybody say otherwise. We move on regardless as Arsenal have to play City. I’m seeing most Arsenal fans are already celebrating. They will be in for a rude awakening because City won’t be this poor against them and I fancy City to stuff Arsenal.

Quansah was superb. To come in at his age, against two star attackers in Foden and Haaland down his side, and play like he did is quite outstanding.
That said, the special praise should be reserved Van Dijk. How many other defenders in the history of the game could consistently make Haaland look rank average? The captaincy has turned a super-powered defender into arguably the best individual player in the world. You could put me next to Van Dijk and I’d still somehow look world class.

Does it really matter what happens btn city and arsenal? Infact i want arsenal to win that . they are arsenal, pretty sure they will mess it up after that too.

I think yesterday's game just showed how limited Haaland is as a player. Cut out his supply and he is literally not able to do anything. Apart from his finishing which is absolutely world class, his dribbling and passing is average at best. He was literally not able to do anything in the game yesterday since we completely smothered KDB, Silva, and Foden.

Arsenal should be taking notes of that game. They definitely have the personnel to do what we did to Haaland and if they manage it, they have a good chance of winning against City.

I think endo and mac allister as a pair in that midfield are supers together
Van dijk was quality but these 2 wer only bought in the summer and the shift they put in was unreal
On top of that tho they have the quality and some of Macca’s touches wit 2/ 3 players around him just shows how much of a baller he is .

Never seen Rodri do as many sprints back to his own goal as he did yesterday . Think we done enough to win it but also I think that city side looked leggy from 60 mins onwards.

Ive got to mention Endo I mean what a player! He has to be the best buy in the prem for years. 16 mill for him is just ridiculous.

{Ed001's Note - nobody seemed keen when we got him because of the price. I don't understand why. You only had to read a few of the posts on Stuttgart fan forums to realise we potentially had a gem. They were absolutely broken hearted to lose him.}

There are a strangely large number of people who assume if you want a good player you have to spend a massive amount of money. I don’t understand why but assume it’s based upon their experience in the alternate universe of electronic football games where the simple ‘rule’ of more money the better the player seems to apply.

I'll be honest and I'm quite happy to hold my hands up but when i watched Endo live back in Oct in the Europa League i thought he looked a decent squad option but throughout Dec and this last month he's been brilliant.

Yesterday not only was he very good out of possession but he was also very good in possession.

Fair play to Endo he's proving to be a great signing.

Sure I read somewhere that even though Endo was 30/ 31 his career game minutes were actually relatively low. Suggests we might get a few more years yet at a high level. Unlike Fabinho whose legs had gone by 28!

Dracred on that, I think Haaland can be a very good all round forward IF he was asked to be that and if Pep honed his game like Klopp did with Darwin, IMO.

I think the prob. here is that Pep is not asking him to do all the stuff Darwin does brilliantly for us. I think he is being asked to just be on the move and they will get him the ball.

IMO, The prob with that is that when he comes across a boss defence and a system City can't penetrate like we had yesterday, Haaland is severely isolated and is of NO use at all unlike Darwin who is absolute poison service or no service. Hence to me, I think it is more to do with what Haaland is asked and no asked to do that is the issue here.

Read a stat last night that Haaland has only been caught offside once this season in the league which is a ridiculous stat.

Imagine combining Haalands composure in finishing and his timings of his runs to Nunez's attributes and you've got the perfect forward.

Endo was everywhere against City. Brilliant midfield performance. Can see why he was so loved at Stuttgart, leaves nothing on the pitch. Bajcetic can learn a lot from him.

@Johnnyr1970, I saw a stat that said that in the last 5 years, Endo had played ten thousand (yeah thousand with a T) minutes than Fabinho. If you boil it down to 40 games a season, that's THREE seasons less football more than Endo. Endo may be 30/ 31 BUT in football age, he is 28/ 29 in terms of actual mileage clocked on his body.
