ED001 do you not think maguire was lucky also? I thought Jota was clean through when he got taken out by Maguire and as it was outside the box is that not a red for preventing a clear goal scoring opportunity?

{Ed001's Note - I had forgotten about that one to be honest. I would have to have another look to remind me.}

Seeing the state of Man Utd we should thank our lucky stars Klopp is in charge just make sure we enjoy it while we can. Ole at wheel LOL
up the pool.

Penandes' tackle on Alexander Arnold early in the second half was nasty as well. They got dirty because they were losing and Taylor didn't stamp it out quickly enough.

Spot on review. Result was a once in a lifetime so we should milk it as long as possible and it was an absolutely amazing game. In the cold light of day, in first half we lost the ball too much in very dangerous positions in midfield and they could have quite easily been leading and Robertson’s passing was shocking and his back pass to a Utd player lead to Milner going off. It was only comfortable after Pogba got sent off. Will be interested to see how Mane reacts to being dropped. I’m in 2 minds about ole going as if the y got someone like Conte in now then it will be harder for Chelsea and city to take points off them but it’s likely they will be challenging with the right manager and Varane back.

Loved the keystone cops analogy! Thanks Ed as always.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate. The analogy just seemed to fit as it kept coming to mind as I was watching the game.}

A great review that ed. Cheers mate.

What is really curious is what are they waiting for Ed01? It's clear its not working with the players, the manager is clearly inept and the situation is way above his abilities. Have they given up on the season? Are they waiting for Woodward's replacement so that both a new director of football and a manager are brought in at the same time (it's a long time from here to end December)? Or is nobody interested in the job out there? This is what I like about Abramovich's style and approach. He is always decisive and takes immediate action once a certain point is reached, whether you like his decisions or not. The most popular club in the World supposedly (perhaps Real Madrid may contest this) and they're being static after one of the their lowest points in history. I don't understand it.

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea what they are waiting for. But they have already made a complete mess of it by jumping the gun to appoint Ole on a permanent basis, so why rush to rectify it a mere 3 years later?}

The Keystone Cops just summed it up lovely Tris👍😂.

{Ed001's Note - cheers Bazza. Did you know Ed025 was the originator of the idea for Keystone Cops? Hank Mann was watching Ed025 at work and the idea just hit him.}

I always thought Billy had Harold Lloyd type vibe about him.

{Ed001's Note - I am not sure what kind of vibrator he prefers mate sorry.}

Apart from the goals one other memory that will always stay with me is Maguire and Shaw running into each other😂I would be brilliant if someone could put some Charlie Chaplin/ Keystone Cops music to go with it.

{Ed001's Note - I am surprised no one has done that already.}

Cheers ed001, be interesting to hear your thoughts. As it seemed to skip most the attention because of Ronaldos petulance and obviously pogbas tackle. But maybe I had red tinted specs on when I watched it initially.

{Ed001's Note - yep, you have a point, if it had been in the box it would have depended on if the ref thought he was trying to get the ball. Outside the box that 'double jeopardy' rule doesn't apply, so he could have gone you are right.}

Great read, Ed. The Keystone Cops analogy got me in stitches, man. You can also go with The Gang Who Couldn't Shoot Straight, if you like, lol.

As for the review itself, the result is absolutely immense. Seeing our fans dancing and signing "Ole at the wheel" is stuff I will never stop enjoying. The fans leaving the ground before halftime? Will NEVER get old. And about seeing Fergie's crumpled face in contrast to Dalglish's grin and laughter during the beatdown we were handing out to them? PRICELESS.

For me as well, Robbo is struggling big time. Everything is there and he is laying well BUT his brilliant first touch and immense passing ability thru the lines, seem to have left him. Just hope he can get it back. Konate needs to do better and learn quickly otherwise, he won't play.

As for the atrocious and cowardly actions of Pogba, Bruno and ewp the 36 yr old retiree, spineless cowards the lot of them. Kicking out on the ball when it is against the groin or body of a defenceless player on the ground, is disgraceful and he should have walked for violent conduct BUT as usual, Anthony Taylor is on the job so what do you expect. Cheers, mate.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome OR.}

Ed001, Glad to see that we agree that there could have been 3 more red cards, definitely two (Ronaldo and Maguire) as Ed025 called me a snowflake for mentioning it. Deliberate foul, last man and a clear goal scoring opportunity is always a red. As for Ronaldo, the first kick was wild, high and nowhere near the ball, even if they did have an excuse for his second kick out.

Good review Ed. Agree with your assessment of the players, really hope Konate steps up his game as I can see him being found out against a team with ability and know how to exploit such weaknesses - pleading that Klopp dropped Matip though whose form had dipped. Do you think it’s worth giving Gomez more game time with Van Dijk? When they were given a run together before their respective injuries they were superb as a partnership, I’d like to think they could recapture that understanding once more.

{Ed001's Note - I like Gomez too, I thought the two of them worked best of all together but Klopp disagrees so I doubt it will happen.}

Had the same thought ArAy1969, it's a brave decision to sack Ole now after spending so much money in the summer to support him and they've just given his assistant a new contract!

But you've got to think the owners/ board need to make a sensible business decision and get rid of him when things clearly aren't working out.

I imagine Man City will do the same kind of damage in a couple of weeks time so maybe that'll force a change.
