I know we have to play every team in the league, but our away fixtures this season have been a really tough ask. Chelsea, Newcastle, now Spurs, and then Brighton.

I think these next 2 will be veerry difficult games for us.

Wouldn't it be something to come out of them with another 6 points!

If we come out of Brighton and Spurs with 6 points then I genuinely think we might go on to win the league.

Steady on Something Red

Personally the only thing that will make me think we MIGHT even do that, would be beating city.

As arsenal and we have proved in recent years unless you take points from that fixture, it’s very difficult to beat them to the title.

I think we got the beating of city. (peps head goes) Spurs is a tricky one and Brighton is tough always is, going back to the days Perry digweed used to get man of the match v us.

Funny how people view beating City as the benchmark as to whether this Liverpool team can win the league. We were dreadful for much of last season and yet we beat City. Beating City home and away is worth 6 points a season, beating the other 18 teams is worth 108 points.

Why is it funny? Why can't both things be true? We can beat ManCity twice in a year and that indicates our quality against the team of the decade in the Epl. And then we can be beaten by any other of the 18 teams indicating the quality and overall high level of the most competitive league in Europe.

To be honest, I’ll be happy with 3 points against Spurs.

On a different, though related, point: given that they all have a number of players out injured or suspended I would happily play City, Arsenal, Chelsea and United as our next four matches (by the way, welcome to the PL Seven Hag - he’s getting the hang of being a ‘whinging Manc’ quite nicely) . It’s their turn to be in the position we were in early / mid season last year with a big part of the squad either out with injury or struggling with firm when they returned.

Thunderbird - We know Liverpool are better than every other team in the league other than City (yes, much better than Arsenal), so beating City is just proof we are on their level. Further, no team has ever won 36 matches in a 38-game season, the most was 32, so beating City is not only a barometer but an important route to winning the title given the latter’s complete domination over every team in the league other than us.

One game at a time, Redmen. Aim to take three points from the next game and see where we finish.
At the moment, I think we're far too open to be thinking of challenging City.

OP, the schedule is the schedule. You play who you play. Nothing crazy going on here.

To op What about when we get a sequence of easy games? We all play the same teams.
Moaning for the sake of moaning?
