If we’re going to keep this inverted right back role then i wonder who would be Trent’s understudy. I was of the opinion that Bradley made more sense than Ramsay especially with him being home grown and club developed but is he be able to play more centrally? Ramsay at least mentioned when we signed him that he can play in midfield. Maybe Milner would be kept on for a year or so. Do we bring in someone new?

Dare I say Matip.

Henderson and Milner would be the best players in the squad to do it. Bradley is best out wide and Ramsay is a cripple who can't string 5 training sessions together.

RB - either Bradley or Ramsay, whoever the coaching set up deem more ready.

Alternatively, we appear to be looking at 2 x CBs who also have LB and RB as their secondary positions - Ndicka and Timber.

For his roving role (if it becomes a pure midfield role) I would say Bajcetic and/ or Thiago appear to be closest fits.

I seen someone mention Tyler Adams if Leeds went down i think he’d be a good fit for the role.

Men, MKS. tell us how you really feel about Ramsay, lol. Seriously tho, I have no idea why we signed him esp. since he was injured with a back problem at the time and Conor Bradley was already here who knew the system cos he played in it in the Cups last season. Another head-scratcher of a transfer that I have difficulty understanding.

Now back to the question. Im not even sure who the "understudy" would be cos we don't even know how this would work long term. I think we should focus on trying to see if this change will work before jumping the gun and start looking for understudy's to Trent. Just my take.

Where is Ramsey anyway? I've seen him once all season In a cup game. was it wolves? . what's happened to the lad. Played really well when I seen him.

"Cripple"? Seriously MK? We've gotten used to far higher standards from you after all these years, reading you.

I don't see the need for another right back. Let Ramsey and Bradley fight it out in pre-season. The loser goes out on loan.

If we didn't have those two prospects already, all eyes would be on Frimpong who is probably going to be the most talented right back to move clubs this summer.

We just need to go for broke this summer. Even if it means a couple of quieter windows.

Wouldn't worry Hessle, we're already broke.

Having a son who has regularly been described by idiots as a cripple because of a chromosome disorder, and after years of reading your comments rather than others, I have to say I'm very disappointed in you Adam.

ArAy, I just think Ramsay was an awful signing. Bradley was perfectly good enough to be Trent's understudy so signing a player with a broken back who they broke his leg not long after recovering has just been a total disaster. In between injuries he didn't even look up to Premier League Reserve level. He was red carded in one of the handful of games he mustered for the youth team before getting injured again.

Cripple is just an accurate description as far as I can see. It's an absolute shambles that Ramsay and Arthur have played a combined 106 minutes for the first team. That's unlikely to increase before the summer. Ramsay definitely won't be adding anything to it.

Those 2 players were supposed to be first team ready to give us competition in key areas on the pitch. If I felt "cripple" was harsh I wouldn't have used that word. But with 93 minutes in 9 months, and a broken back and leg, tell me I'm wrong. I can mince my words and sit on the fence if you want? Maybe some nonsense about him being unlucky or having a big future at the club as 3rd choice right back?

If he proves me wrong in the coming years I swear to you, I will post an apology on here admitting i was completely wrong.

Tristan I'm sorry to hear about your son. My own son has autism so I apologise if my language was an emotional trigger for you as I know how upsetting it can be to hear people mis-identify his disability. It was not my intention to cause any offence.

The definition of "cripple" is somebody with leg or back injuries. Ramsay has both so I was simply using the word in it's true definition. However I didn't consider that the word has taken on negative connotations in recent years to describe disabled people in an aggressive and innacurate tone. Again, apologies and I'll try to use different wording in future.

I do stand by my Ramsay opinion though, in spite of the terminology blunder. He seems severely injury prone and I think its been a huge mistake.

MKS, knowing you for over a decade (through your posts only, and as much as that allows) most will agree with me when I say that you're a well-intentioned guy and certainly know the game of football. Maybe sometimes things are misinterpreted or badly written. Nobody expects you to mince words or sit on the fence if that's not what you want to do. But in any case, and in the end, you found the right words ("injury prone") yourself anyway. ?.

MK - I am involved at two disability charities. You might need to brush up on your language there. The Spinal Injuries Association is headquartered in Milton Keynes - perhaps a chance to volunteer :)

Is Calvin Ramsey injury prone or is he dealing with the consequence of growing? His injury record prior to joining us doesn't suggest he has a history of it.

Yeah if it causes offence, I won't use it anymore FPF. I knew some people used it in a derogatory way but i didn't think it was a thing that had become that taboo. We live and learn. I hate it when people tell me "he's just naughty and needs a clip round the ear". Ahh yes because the best way to calm down an autistic child with sensory overload is to throw pain in the mix!

Calvin Ramsay has not even started his hopefully long LFC career. During his first day medical checks a scan revealed a stress fracture in his back, that put him out of action for four and a half months for his first minutes in an LFC shirt.

He then got a red card and subsequent ban which hampered him again, and in mid February had to undergo Knee Surgery which Jurgen said "would finish this season for him", as everyone knows Bajcetic in Klopps words also suffered a "seriously bad injury".

Talking of right backs does anyone remember Isaac Mabaya who went on the Austrian Training Camp with the First Team and looked "very promising" playing right back in a couple of pre-season friendlies, one appearance was as a 17 year old versus Red Bull Salzburg he also played against man utd and crystal palace on that Asian tour . He is currently training with the first team after he too suffered another bad injury and has only returned to training circa a month ago, he will be 19 this coming September, tall, athletic and with pace to burn and quite local as he was born in Preston (Both Ends! ) .

If you Google "Stefan Bajcetic and Isaac Mabaya versus RB Salzburg- You Tube" there is a six minute clip to jog the memory if you don't recall him, he looked very, very, promising I hope he has a long LFC career in front of him i would say.

Hope this isn’t too taboo, but I’m only 35 and think it’s gone a little too far with people having to watch every word they say. People know MK on this site and it’s the intent rather than the actual use of a word. He did not intend any harm or disrespect so toughen up and roll with the punches a little.

Adam, no need to apologise but thank you anyway. I have always looked out for your posts and still will. I know it was said with no intent.

Klucas87 when you have a child who gets called derogatory names, maybe then you can say to "toughen up" and "roll with the punches" The world moves on and, luckily, just being offensive to someone because of what they look like/ race/ sex/ etc is no longer tolerated as ok.

Each to their own. I grew up with impairments and my youngest son is Autistic so I am not oblivious to what goes on. I just think getting offended every time someone says the wrong word or is derogatory is tiring. I always found it best to just rise above and ignore. Not everyone’s approach but works for me.
