I've seen a rumour that a club, other than Chelsea, have submitted a significant bid for Caicedo at Brighton, any chance it could be Liverpool as an alternative to Lavia?
I'd be happy with him and 1 quality CB being the end to our summer spending.

Just been reading this, apparently £80 million, but no idea if it’s true. Good player and would be happy if we did sign him.

City or Saudi?

Saudi’s mentioned.

I hope it’s not us to be honest. The lad seems to be motivated by money. That’s fair enough, his motivation is his concern, but it isn’t the trait I’d prefer to see in someone coming to the club.

I’m going to predict a “no” from Ed002.

Nonsense all footballers are motivated by money in my mind
He is a very good player, get him in on a long term deal.

The only problem with caicedo is he won't stick around long. he wants madrid clearly.

When was the last time you heard football players are not motivated by money? Even our beloved Salah asked for more money when he signed his contract extension. But there's a difference between wanting to be paid fairly in the market vs signing with any club that's willing to pay the most.

@Playtowin23, so anything that doesn’t tally with what’s in your mind is nonsense?

I presume your mind was having a day off last week when Mbappe said ‘no thanks’ to Al Hilal?

Well it won’t be us that’s bid for him! We are currently low bidding on a player valued at half Caicedo’s value so absolutely won’t be us.

Good job our last captain wasn’t motivated by money.

Great point @JK a new angle on the debate - it’s what was needed.

Caicedo isn’t good enough and at £80m would be a worse investment than Keita. Steer well clear.

What planet are you on becker. caicedo is premier league proven already. 80m is the right price too I feel. Much better than the 50m for lavia, that's a other keita in my eyes.

My opinion Magico. I’ve watched the guy play at least 10 times and I’ve never seen anything that suggests to me he’s worth any more than £30m.

Decent engine I suppose but as to footballing ability he’s not shown me anything. Estupinan is the better player of the 2 from Brighton.

Not sure Liverpool will now spend 80 million on a midfielder they baulked at 88.5 million for Jude Bellingham.

Opinions differ becker. doesn't matter anyway mate, even players like caicedo are out of our league these days.

Our transfer policy is about getting players hoped to be the right players and at what Liverpool think is a good price, wages have to suit as well.

We could have signed a lot cheaper than Szoboszlai if our transfer policy was all bargain basement stuff. Too many on here just keep moaning utter nonsense. It's one thing to have an opinion on a player or tactics, that's fine it's different opinions and can be interesting to read but the utter nonsense moaning about money the whole time and completely disregarding reality - that's annoying to read.
