100% we will buy January think the club have been backed into a corner and won’t have a option!

As long as it's not just a last-minute panic/ desperation loan.

Surely PSG take Mo off our hands and send their trouble maker our way in Jan
:D.

Problem is that the world and his dog will know we’re desperate, so we’re likely to be absolutely scalped if we try to sign anyone, which will keep the purse strings well and truly closed. I do think we should send Arthur back to Juve, as he’s been an unmitigated disaster. Imagine signing an injury prone midfielder to cover a crisis caused by having too many injury prone midfielders. SMDH.

How about Youssoufa Moukoko Ed002. Any idea when we will sign him? Thanks if you have any info.

{Ed002's Note - Youssoufa Moukoko (F) Youngster of interest to PSG, Real Madrid and Barcelona as he approaches his first professional contract, which is causing a to be a problem. A number of Premier League and other French sides have sent scouts.}

I don’t believe artur melo is injury prone…. we got him on loan but he wasn’t fit enough to play and In his endeavours to get match fit, he did extra training session, and this I believe inevitably led to his injury.

He’s definitely injury prone. Have a look at his history on Transfermarkt. You’re free to believe what you like, but facts don’t care about feelings and the facts are that he’s made out of crisps. The stats below don’t read like a player who’s durable.

22/ 23 Surgery 97 days 15 games
22/ 23 Ankle problems 8 days 1 games
21/ 22 Unknown Injury 12 days 2 games
21/ 22 Distortion of the ankle 17 days 3 games
21/ 22 Surgery 77 days 8 games
20/ 21 Leg Injury 27 days 7 games
20/ 21 Hamstring Injury 5 days 2 games
19/ 20 Ankle Injury 7 days 1 game
19/ 20 Ankle Injury 11 days 1 game
19/ 20 Pubitis 44 days 7 games
19/ 20 Knock 5 days 1 game
19/ 20 Knock 4 days 1 game
19/ 20 Knock 3 days 1 game
19/ 20 Achilles tendon 10 days 1 game
18/ 19 Muscular problems 12 days 2 games
18/ 19 Hamstring Injury 19 days 4 games
18/ 19 Torn abductor muscle 15 days 4 games
17/ 18 Ankle Injury 87 days 5 games.

So 11 out of 18 injuries he missed at most 2 games? And only 2/ 18 did he miss hat you would consider a large portion of games. A big long scary list can be deceiving. I’d hardly call it injury prone.

As you say @BCS, it looks more like a lot of bumps and bruises rather than anything else.

Anyway, who’s to say how many of the 15 games he is currently missing he would actually have played in - I’d be willing to wager five shillings (in old money) that it wouldn’t have been 15, which also leads you to wonder how many of the other games he missed would he have actually been picked for?

A bit of a case of ‘lies, damn lies and statistics’ perhaps.

Never take what VVVV is saying about players seriously. 18 months ago he was saying that Vinicius was overhyped, the next Denilson and would be back in Brazil at 25.

If he wasn’t going to be playing many of the 15 games, then why did we bother loaning him. Not signing a first team midfielder or even 2 is a massive error by Klopp which has and will continue to cost us significantly this season.

I'd say missing 65 or so matches over 6 seasons is a qualifier for being "injury prone". That's a season and a half missed out of 6. Throw in the time required to get match fit and back up to speed (more than likely as a sub) and he's missing close to 80 games. On the low end that's 12 games a season. Missing 12 or more games a season is 1/ 3 so I'd consider that a player that you can't build the team around or count on. Just looking at Naby lad, he's played 76 times for us in 4 seasons in the PL. So he's missed 72 games for us out of a possible 152 matches. Would anyone argue that Naby has not been injury prone? Arther is better but not by much. Sure I'm not including CL and cup matches and I'm sure Keita's stats decline even more with all of that considered.

Missing 65 games over 6 seasons really doesn’t qualify as injury prone sorry.

Even without taking into account champs league and cup games, 38 games x 6 seasons is 228 games. 65 games is 29% of the matches (again without throwing the clear extra cup and champs league games in) .

Being available for 71% of games is pretty good availability. Is it amazing? No, but it certainly not the picture being painted to suit the agenda of some posters.

Well call it whatever but the irony here is that we've signed someone to fill in the gaping injury hole and he's now injured himself. Can't make this stuff up.

Reading up on injury prone players, one of the reasons given is "overtraining". The others given are the players genetic makeup and incorrect techniques, whatever that means. Given what I was reading on us losing our club doctor this season, a position that is currently unfilled, it does make me wonder if overtraining is a factor. I know the club ran double sessions leading right up to the season. I'm purely speculating here but clearly having this many injuries so early in the season imo isn't just bad luck.

{Ed001's Note - undertraining is more often a cause of injuries than overtraining.}

I didn’t think the cub doctor got involved with training/ recovery etc. I thought they are just there for purely medical situations. Don’t the fitness coaches/ Physios cover those issues? If someone knows more about what they cover I’d be genuinely interested to know.
