Can anyone explain why all these pundits are fawning over spurs and postecoglu last night? His tactics after going down to 9 men were absolutely laughable, proper Sunday league football! If it wasn’t Chelsea they were playing, a team who are absolutely struggling in front of goal this season, the game would have finished about 10-1.

OP, they can't stop cos they created the bandwagon to begin with. Seriously, you think if Klopp had done what this guy did and had Chelsea fixed up and scored 10, they would have lauded him? They would have called him naive, arrogant, full of hubris etc BUT cos it's this guy, they had to stick with the fawning cos that would mean they flipped on him and clearly, that's not on.

Sky or BT has no special care for Andre @Oli. He is hailed coz he did not park the bus. I think that was a dumb move. You got to adapt and swallow your ego.

To be fair - I think Ange is an incredibly likeable bloke.

As for last night I wouldn’t saw fawning over it I would say disbelief more than anything. What they tried to do was insane and yet, it very nearly worked.

Ange is in his PL honeymoon. Don’t worry like everyone else it won’t last.

Don’t think I’ve seen a pundit fawn over the tactics.

Ange in his after match interview had the best view of VAR I have ever heard
I like the bloke just not with a Spurs badge on.

@faithinworks, you clearly didn’t watch the match then! Carragher and Neville were loving it. They were heaping praise on Postecoglu for going for it but let’s be honest, if someone like ten hag tried that he would be absolutely slaughtered for being naive!

JK I said it straight after the game his tactics were akin to an under 11s team manager. It’s only because Chelsea are so bad and it took them 20 minutes to realise they just had to run from a deeper position that they didn’t get into double figures.

It was absolutely laughable from Postecoglu I was waiting for him to tell his defence to drop off but it never happened! What makes it even more unbelievable it that they have Son upfront who is made for the counter attack! Just sit deep, keep it tight and get it to Son on the break! It’s not rocket science!

Plus they were against Chelsea who couldn’t score in a cheap brothel! Had they just shut up shop chances are Chelsea would’ve run out of ideas.

Then listening to Carra afterwards lauding how brave Postecoglu was is just ridiculous. They got done 4-1 at home. Should’ve been 10-1! Anyone with half a brain could tell you he got that completely wrong, even though it was good to watch it felt like a horror film where you don’t want to watch but you just can’t help yourself.

If Klopp did that I’d be questioning his sanity!

1971Reds, I don't think he did, respectfully and here are the receipts coming from his own mouth:

“At some point, we have to accept the referee’s decision. This constant erosion of referees’ authority, this is what the game is going to get. "

Wait, this is coming from a guy who said after the game vs LFC that he would not have let LFC score a goal to make up for the Diaz disallowed goal had the ref decided for him to do so.

“They will not have any authority, it is going to get diminished and we are going to be in the control of someone a few miles away watching a TV screen. ”

So now he is worried about the refs' authority being eroded? Did he feels the same way vs LFC after the "authority of the refs was eroded" to and he was awarded the points vs LFC? Oh now, he wants VAR scrapped cos they actually took a long time required to get the decisions correct, something he had NO problem with vs LFC? So he wants to go back to a no VAR era where the disgraceful red card challenges by his players would not be seen by the ref hence, no red cards? Again, a self serving hypocrite.

Ange is exactly who I always thought he was and his mask fell off vs Chelsea when things did not go his way and I have my confirmation. Just my opinion.

Fair enough oil mate and respect your opinion
You make some good points, I am old school and just want a ref to ref without VAR but it’s not to be so all good
I think Ange is sadly perfect for Spurs and the reason I think that is the opposite to your view, he simply doesn’t have a mask he is who he is and is very capable in the pressures of the EPL I feel
I will of course love it if and when I am wrong.

I only watched about 30mins of second half. I don't even remember Carra and Neville in commentary lol must have been a different broadcaster. but afterwards Hoddle was talking about the high line being a mistake and others too. anyways, I guess the point is that it's not all or none.

I had another think about it, I still think it wasn't a great idea to play that open. But you know what, they nearly scored a couple goals y'know lol.
