It does seem a little frustrating at the minute I must admit
I'm sure we would all like our business done a bit sooner but the Saudi thing with Hendo and Fabhino is only good business if we can secure the signings of better younger players and it's seriously looking like that may not happen in which case that's not good business at all
I know the money side is way more complicated than what the likes of me know but as mentioned in a post above
Fab Hendo Kieta Ox Millie etc all of the wage bill two signings in for £95 mill ish but £52 mill ish back into the coffers surely the club can get something done
We would look real stupid if we don't get the defensive mid we need or another centre half and we start shopping goals and dropping points
City and Arsenal will be super strong this season and it probably won't take Pochetino too long to start getting Chelsea going with all the money they are throwing around
The front is fantastic some great players coming through but I don't think we have enough to really have a go without a good quality DM and another centre half.

We will, in all likelihood, sign a DM before the window closes. Though, it would most likely be Lavia/ Andre who are both inexperienced at the top level. They might hit the ground running, or they may have a forgettable first season. Regarding a CB, it seems it's not a priority right now. All reports point to focus on DM position. What I am trying to say is, even if we sign a DM and a CB, there's a big chance that they won't hit the ground running, so we can expect some early season hiccups.

The season was always going to be defined once again by the transfer window and pre-season

It’s been a disaster so far.

If we’d kept Henderson and Fabinho and not signed long term replacements for either I bet you’d be saying the same thing.

It’s not quite a disaster but it’s real amateur hour at the moment. Feels like we’ve not planned or even thought about particular players leaving. Really poor, even if it’s not that way the optics are terrible for the club.

Do we actually train players as DM in the academy?
Hardly seen any DM coming from the academy. Going for a 19 years old at nearly £50m says it all.

So I'm completely resigned to us leaving ourselves short in this transfer window. I'm also resigned that Klopp will make it harder for himself by continuing with this hybrid system with Trent. No signs if any investment and a delay to finishing Anfield Rd. Yet despite all this we still have some brilliant players and on our day can beat anyone. Let's just outscore teams. It will all be fine ha ha.

In 9 days time the football will take over from transfers.

Either we’ll get off to a good start or a bad one and then we’ll have 3 weeks to either back Klopp or ask him to make do with what he’s got once the window closes.

Thu/ sun football seems to be an enigma that Premier league teams haven’t figured out so hopefully Klopp can work his magic and the players rise to the occasion and us as fans have an enjoyable season as we hopefully challenge on all fronts and at least get back into the CL.

FWIW I think we’ll sign Kalvin Phillips (he’s not impressing at City, they’ll accept a lowish bid from us and he’ll want to move and no other top teams seem to be in for him) .
I don’t rate him but I think that’s where we’re heading.

There’s no chance of Lavia, other teams are in for him.

With a bit of luck we’ll unearth another cheap CB.

That seems like a reasonable expectation in my opinion.

LiverpoolFC8. You are either exaggerating or you don’t understand the meaning of the world.

In a football context we have got rid of a number of players who were either not contributing or who were in decline. We’ve signed a World Cup winner with solid PL experience and a 22 year old who captains his country and has bags and bags of potential. Within context, we require a couple of additional players and we have time to get the ones we need / want.

In the context of everyday life. A transfer window doesn’t matter and the idea of it being a ‘disaster’ is ridiculous, mate.

How can the transfer window be classed as a disaster when it hasn't even closed or enough games been played for it to be judged?
It's a ridiculous statement.

Rigsby - in the same manner that a season can be called a disaster before it has ended. We didn't have to wait until June to make that judgement did we?

COffan, it isn’t the same thing at all - you can’t change what you have during the course of a season. In any change window you can change what you have. So you are absolutely spot off on this one.
