Would anyone be crying if virgil, thiago, salah, Jones, matip or jota were to be sold?

Virgil is still a key player. Not as his best by any means, but put any other CB in into our backline and they would struggle. The opposition are breezing past of midfield and attacking our back for every 5 minutes.

It depends who replaced them.

Virgil leaving would be worth it if we got Gvardiol, for example. I like Kim at Napoli too.

Thiago would have to be replaced as he is a starting XI player when fit. We'd just need another one of the many midfield players linked; Nunes, Thuram, Neves, Bellingham, Rabiot etc. We already need at least 3 even if Thiago doesn't leave as Ox, Milner, Keita and possibly Fabinho are on the way out.

Salah would definitely need replacing, and not with a crock like Chiesa. It'd need to be a really talented young right winger who can stay fit. Marcus Edwards of Sporting Lisbon for example. Mo Kudus at Ajax looked a potentially good player too. And of course there is Lindstrom who we're definitely interested in who can play on the right of a front 3, albeit with a different approach to Salah.

Matip i'm happy to sell. Ndicka and Schuurs been looked at according to Ed002 and both are significant upgrades.

Jota and Jones should be for sale even without direct replacements though. They're too injury prone. Even Thiago (who is injury prone himself) has 1000 minutes more than Jota and 1500 minutes more than Jones. Players like Doak, Carvalho, Morton, Clarkson etc could replace them easily.

Salah is a really big problem for us. Yes he's got a decent amount of assists this season but if he has passed more instead of just shooting at the keeper we would be higher up the table.

Take Salah out of the team and you’ll see Liverpool much further down the table rather than higher.

Spot on, MKS regarding VVD. If you can’t get the right replacement for him like Gvardiol then, keep him and get in a CB to compete with both him and Konate who will replace Matip. Kim brilliant and I’ve rated Schuurs since his Ajax days. Don’t know much about the Ndicka fellow.

As for those saying we should sell Salah, like Vvd it will depend on who will replace him. I think we should replace Salah with his successor WHILE he he still here so the transition can go smoothly like we did for Mane with Diaz. That for me, would be ideal.

Salah still strikes fear into the opposition when he is used well in our system and since he’s never injured, he plays. But if a very good offer came, the club may consider it regardless of what I think.
