What's the story with Bobby Duncan? Spent a year trying to sign him, helped him have an unbelievable season with the u18 and u23 teams, has trained with the first team and made appearance's for the first team during pre-season and now he's seemingly throwing it back in the clubs face (I heard he refused to play tonight against Southampton in an u23 game) to force a move abroad. Surely a loan would be better for him or have relationships broken down so badly the club want rid of him.

{Ed002's Note - Maybe it is the same as many youngsters who are tired of players coming in and limiting their options. They want guarantees that most clubs won't give. This opens the door to a move to Germany whose clubs are constantly looking to young English players.}

I'm supprised more young players aren't doing it, why play for the u23s if you can get top flight football at a young age in a league as good as the bundesliga.

The germans are certainly cherry picking the young english talent, jordan Sancho is an insanely smart peice of business he is worth easily over 100 million after joining from city . I think there league is slightly weaker than ours an certain players seem too thrive .

Maybe because I’m a bit old skool. I really don’t get the hype regarding brining younger players though

English Clubs have been buying success since the early 90’s, especially since the birth of the Premier League era.

And a certain club making massive strides after floating on the stock exchange in 1991.

It's weaker than the prem but it's certainly far better than playing u23 football.

How arrogant must you be to feel you deserve to play ahead of the current front 3 straight away age 18? Ridiculous.

{Ed0666's Note - I salute the guy he’s willing to leave his comfort blanket of family and friends at such a young age and wants to go and prove himself. I wish more of them did that. Besides we’ve poached many a player after unsettling them and maybe this is our Karma.

I’d be disappointed if he goes because he’s apparently a talent. At the same time, he’s hardly been here for 5 minutes so is showing a severe lack of patience and fight to be honest. I’m confident if Klopp and co thought he was remotely close to being useful, he’d get an opportunity this year.

If he wants to go to play quality first team football then good on him. From a practical viewpoint let’s either make it a loan or have a big sell on clause in case he turns in to another Sancho.

good on him if he wants to play first team football and crucially, there is a club willing to sign him. I would hope that we are able to bring him back either end of a loan period or via buy-back. But whatever, if he wants to go there isn't really that much we can do. Be better to let him go and let him fill his boots elsewhere.

I do agree completely that youngsters getting frustrated at being blocked of their opportunity by their clubs and it is certainly a common regular problem.

I do however don't see this being relatable to bobby Duncan, he was signed last year, was a big success for u23s and only 18 now, . In that time we've let solanke, ings and sturridge move on and we've not signed any additional players in Duncan's position. Brewster has shown that klopp will reward any kid who deserves it. We've done nothing to block or stifle Duncan's chance so I can't see him feeling he's been treated unfairly with blame to the club.

If he wants to move simply as he can't see an easy route to make a successful career at Liverpool that's more than fair and respect to the lad if he wants to play football but this example can't be one of a young player being wrongfully treated and prevented by the club's actions. Id hope he decides to stay and can get a loan if he wishes but with glatzel injured long term and Brewster yet to prove anything, it would be a shame to see Duncan move on permanently.
