Eds, do you think that if this is true, that is all for Liverpool midfield rebuild? Tbf Gravenberch seems like an 8 to me, not a 6 which is much more needed unless they rely on Endo for the full season which seems a risk.

A Gini type player. It's worked before. I do think this type of signing is bad for Jones and Elliott. We don't really need this profile of player but Klopp and co think different it seems. definitely a good player in there.

@Plovdiv, Ed002 has referred to Gravenberch as a versatile midfielder listing him for DM, CM and AM.

Of course this would be the Endo the midfield signings this summer if both arrive.

A defender hopefully would still be possible.

All this points toward developing a group of young players until LFC find the right DM at the right price. Endo will be a legendary signing imo.

Thiago gets caught on the ball way too much to play the 6. He got away with it in Spain and Germany playing for the best teams in those leagues but you just don’t get that luxury in the Premier League.

If he stays Thiago should be considered as a squad player to come on and help us manage games with the odd start against teams that might sit deep and allow us possession.

Mighty red Thiago did play as 6 but it was along side another number 6. I don’t understand Gravenberch he wants to move from Bayern because he is not a starter I don’t see him as a starter for us.
I thought the window started with two great signings got loads of wages of the accounts then managed to get very good money for two players that were well past their best saving even more money from massive wages. Chasing Caicedo and Lavia was looking like very exciting signing for now and the future. For me the last 24hours with what has gone on is very underwhelming makes me think we knew we had no chance with them two and was a pure pr stunt by the owners to cover up lack of investment yet again. We now go into the season with a Dm that has never even played one game in European football no premier league experience and only played three seasons for a team battling relegation in Germany. now he has to play for a team that will dominate possession and he is going to be left very exposed by the way we play. Hope that Bajcetic is fit soon to help him out.

Thiago’s injury record speaks for itself. Just can’t rely on him to stay fit. Rumours of a loan deal to Bayern Munich for Thiago if we bid for Gravenberch. Not sure if that would be good idea tbh leaving us short again.

Trent isn’t a 6 yet, Thiago is an awful 6, Bajcetic has played 2 games in the PL as a 6. So the only player to play there consistently as a 6 in Endo and I’ve no idea how that’s going to pan out .
Am I concerned? Definitely!

MR, Thiago played in a double pivot at Bayern with Kimmich or Goretzka hence, not a 6. he played a couple of games in the 6 for us and was not good at all, just like Mac10 is not a good 6. If Klopp wants Gravenberch then, we should push the boat out to get him, which we have. Wait and see.

The fee looks reasonable for Gravenberch for someone who had such a high rep not long ago but the problem will be his wages, he is on a lot at a Bayern and with tax laws would be a top earner here to take home the same amount. If he’s not a success he will likely be quite difficult to offload on those wages.
