Ed2; Is there any chance that Liverpool are quietly working on a deal for Declan Rice and if so, would he be available this window?
Many thanks!

{Ed002's Note - Declan Rice (DM/CM) There may remain interest from Manchester United but they signed Casemiro so their need is less now. The interest of Manchester City went with the signing of Kalvin Phillips although I would not totally discount them. Chelsea lost out on their preferred target last summer and the club is supportive of looking again to have Declan Rice return to Chelsea, something that I understand would be acceptable to the player. A wildcard would be Bayern Munich. West Ham will resist a move, but if the player were to push for it they would have to reconsider that position. The player has rejected offers to sign a new contract. Will be significantly expensive. I am not aware of any discussions for a cut price deal with Liverpool as some of their fans have suggested.}

I've always had Rice down as a bit overrated, as a footballer I still do to be honest. But his leadership and attitude comes across as elite, and I don't think we have any obvious candidates to fill that void after the likes of Hendo, Milner, Virgil etc. So I'd love him at Anfield in that respect.

For me one of Bellingham, Barella, Fernandez or Valverde.

Love his attitude but fear for how much football he has already played and whether his physicality (a big asset of his) can be sustained long-term.

I’ll echo Barella, easily the best fit for a Klopps Liverpool side. Dream signing that.

Nicolo Zaniolo was being put on transfer list. There also some news saying that Emile Smith Rowe will also being put on transfer list. Any thoughts about that Ed? Is there any chance for LFC to look after on these players Ed? Thank you.

{Ed002's Note - Nicolo Zaniolo (RW/AM) is wanted by Juventus as a Chiesa replacement but Juve would much prefer to keep the player. Milan may offer an option. Spurs have asked after the player as has a third party on behalf of Manchester United. Roma will sell at the right price to help ease debt, but that price will be significant - Juve might have the edge over Milan and. discount Manchester United. Prior interest of Chelsea has returned as they look to replace wide players but he is not top of their list. Nottingham Forest and Newcastle offer wildcard options.
Emile Smith-Rowe (AM) Will likely make way if YT joins.}

Not sure what's going on with Rice this season. Hard to know if West Ham are playing bad because of him, or he is playing bad because of West Ham. He certainly can't blame his team mates for Saka absolutely bodying him the other week. I think he wants a move and his heads not right personally, but it's just a hunch.

Mk. I think your right, rice has stayed a season too long at wh and has gone bit stale. I think he would be excellent player for us, add physicalty, good leader by all accounts and can play at least 3 positions, no.6, 8 or cb (prob could cover rb as well) . We need similar personalities to milner+Henderson off the field as well, he seems that type.

Rice is ok. It’s only because he’s English that people think he’s good. Overrated.

Any chance of knowing who are looking to take Chiesa from Juve please? Rate him very highly!

{Ed002's Note - This is the Liverpool page - try the European page.}

I think Rice is a very good player but I’d be surprised is he moves outside of London

Chelsea will be keen but I can see him at Arsenal (maybe Mount too)

I hope I’m wrong as he’d be an ideal no6 and maybe future captain.

I would take Rice, he is in a poor performing team and can’t do it all himself - he has been very good for England when surrounded by other good players - except for the USA game of course!

I would really like to see Bellingham like all here, Nunes (instead of Rice) looks an excellent talent so would be awesome if we got both - maybe FM or dreaming, but I allow myself that.

It’s reported Skriniar is off to PSG, but would have been great to also get him on a free transfer (I have read on here all the costs involved - nothings free! ) .

I, like many know we need a big refresh of the aging squad - let’s hope the owners (whoever it may be) sees this too.

*Really pleasing to see our team are doing better financially on the Deloitte’s richlist ?.

Tbh, i've always seen Rice as a prawn sandwich kind of player, overrated and given too much credit. I see him as, at best a younger version of Hendo. and no I have never been Hendo's biggest fan. Type of player i reckon would flourish at the likes of utd, but we would be complaining about him within 6mths. All that said. i love being proven wrong in this sort of scenario. With the recent Cama talk, Bells and Cama/ Enzo would be my preferred incomings, even if its the summer.

He is a winger mate? We need a midfield.
