Hi Eds
It is reported in Portugal Luverpool have signed a pre contract for Enzo Fernández, is there any truth do you think in this?

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea how that would be possible.}

If he plays like today rather not Argentina we’re pathetic and should he ashamed of how they acted.

{Ed025's Note - im with you jerry, between them and brazil they are making a mockery of the game mate, all this diving, rolling around and badgering the ref is a disgrace, mind you led by messi what do you expect?..

Too bloody right, south American teams are disgrace, turn every game into a mess of diving, time wasting and holding your head faking a head injury at every chance. Wouldn't mind but when they do concentrate on football they great to watch.

Argentina were a joke today, wouldn’t want any of them near our club!

The pundits talking about messi was sickening also… c'mon Croatia!

I think it’s a little unfair on the lad to lump him in with the likes of neymar, messi, anthony, and the other olympian South American diving squad and cheats…watching the game he was one of the more honest players and didn’t get too drawn into some of the shenanigans

From a football skill perspective the lad is impressive, very composed on the ball, didn’t shy away from taking the ball under pressure and great potential, have to admit I hadn’t heard a lot about him prior to the World Cup so I’m curious to know everyone’s else’s opinion on him?

On a side note and completely unrelated How good is Modric, what a pro, understated and underrated, Messi, Neymar, Ronaldo all steal the headlines but at 37 he is a phenomenon.

Diaz back in this country for an operation scheduled for tomorrow.
A. Is the training the issue?
B. Is the medical dept the issue?
Either way absolutely gutted this fella is out again till March.

@dow modric an absolute champ. Love watching him.

Surely there is no finer sight in football than seeing Neymar crying his eyes out, some people i find it hard to have sympathy for and he is one of them.

Hopefully Modric and co can dish out the same treatment to Messi in the semi- final.

I suppose the real question is who cried better Neymar or Suarez?

Karma can be such a cruel mistress at times and thank god for it.

C. He's had a setback and is just unlucky? It's happened previously to thousands of players and will definitely happen to thousands more in the future.

Hey Ed025 - is Gordon an Argentinian?

{Ed025's Note - he could well be WDW, another serial diver who obviously learned from studying salah and mane, we all have them mate and even the england captain is guilty as charged..

All teams do have some of then boys no doubt, but Argentina, brazil it's systematic, everybody is at it. Its almost the gameplan, and it has to be led by the coaches.
If there 1 thing that would leave var a success is if var was used to card the players for that crap. And if we end up with 2 a side for a few games so be it, soon would stop.

As for England captain, we all know the real leader is Hendo, whether he starts or not. Lost any respect for Southgate when he went for Kane, he’s not even club captain. Why would you want to pick a leader who’s led his team to pretty much every major club trophy hey.

10 Dec 2022 09:20:26
Whitewalker he got injured in a game, its not a muscle injury, and if he couldn't take a bit of training how in gods name would he play a match? Can't see how it's anything to do with the training or medical depth on this one. he's just unlucky .

Lfc hopeful, the reason Henderson isn't England captain is he isn't guaranteed his place, Kane is. Virgil is Netherland's captain, he doesn't captain us.

And all this vitriol about south American players. Diaz, Nunez, Alisson, Fabinho, Firmino etc.

10 Dec 2022 09:05:08
Or richarlison Ed, seems more likely he picked it up (or tripped over it) at your training complex!

{Ed025's Note - yeah hopeful another serial cheat. I don’t care who they play for mate even Everton. I will call them out because they are ruining the game..

Just on Messi. Romero handles the ball deliberately and quite rightly receives a yellow card. Later in the game Messi does exactly the same but no yellow card. I believe later in the game he did receive a yellow card, had the first been given then the second would have ended in a red. Seems he is untouchable.

Heres one - I think Kane is by some way a worse diver than the likes of Gordon.

Gordon’s are more blatant and frankly ridiculous but Kane’s are more insidious. Creating contact, making the most of anything and largely getting away with it.

{Ed001's Note - agreed and Kane is protected because he plays for England and Spurs.}

10 Dec 2022 13:10:00
what is it about spurs? i heard they have been favored even though they are unsuccessful for a long period of time now. I don't stay in the UK, so wonder if its something geographical?

{Ed001's Note - yes, the FA have always been London-based and favoured Spurs for some reason. Rules have been ignored or changed to suit them many times throughout the FA's history, such as club's on the stock exchange. It was not allowed and numerous clubs were forced to not float to make money right up until Spurs wanted to do so. Then the FA suddenly turned a blind eye.}

ahhh, thanks for sharing that
its funny isn't it, even with the establishment's support, they still ain't successful

i only noticed more in game rule changes like the new offside rule when we drew against them at Anfield some years back but didn't know it was more systemic than that.

{Ed001's Note - they will always get the 'rub of the green', it is just the way it is.}

Argentina and Brazil get away with their antics because they are protected by FIFA and the media.

They are protected because they have more fans around the world than any football club. Not even close, I think.

If someone is shown a red, it would help put a stop to it. Unfortunately, most referees are like the one in the quarter final.

The Dutch were not going to put up with it. So it got ugly. That is on the referee and FIFA.

{Ed025's Note - spot on 67..

Brian Clough would have done his nut at the antics with Refs, I wonder what he’d say about VAR.
