Really sorry Ed, I have tried the search and it won’t work/ can’t find what I am looking for, does anyone know what was posted re: Coutinho?

Is he someone we may bring back?

{Ed002's Note - Philippe Coutinho (AM/CM) was available in the summer and was actively being offered around to English, Italian and German sides - but the clubs approached like Spurs, Arsenal, Wolves, Leicester Liverpool and Everton had preferred options or no interest and would only look to him if options dried up and if a loan to buy option were available - but Barcelona ideally wanted cash and still do. Italy may provide an option on loan but that won't suit Barcelona which might well rule out Lazio. Milan would not be a surprise at the right price. If Barcelona cut their losses then they may look to an exchange and might see who clubs like Juventus have available. Kia wanted to get him in to Arsenal ahead of Odegaard or Aouer - but that came to nothing. Kia will knock on Edu's door again in January and try and strike a deal - but with Odegaard signed it is hard to see where he would fit in without Smith Rowe departing. Kia will also try Spurs again, who do have space in their squad but their focus might be elsewhere. A deal involving Ndombele may be suggested. Other English sides have also been approached but even with a low transfer fee, wages will be high. Aston Villa have asked about a loan. Kia has approached Newcastle but they have no immediate need for a superagent and need to resolve other issues before buying players and it is an unattractive option for Pipco. Everton have been approached but seems an unlikely destination. A loan to Flamengo was suggested but they would struggle to pay much of his wages. Liverpool will likely also be approached but I doubt would be interested - but you never know.}

Coutinho is the most realistic player at least for short term until end of the season to cover Mane and Salah during African Cup and to anticipate unpredictable situation during C.V. as we lost so many players right now because of C.V.. Coutinho already know Klopp's style on playing football on the pitch and training session, know the staff, his ex-team mates (Bobby, Alisson, Fab, Hendo, TAA) and Thiago when he was at Bayern. Moving to liverpool can be considered as a win win solution for Coutinho because he will not need some extra effort to adapt with liverpool environment so he can be more focus for returning back to his peak performance.

He’d be pretty rubbish cover as he’s neither a winger or a forward of any kind. We don’t play with a “number 10” so he’d be as useful as a eunuch at an orgy. It’s not even as if he can play in midfield as he’s too lightweight and doesn’t work hard enough.

And that's not taking into account his wages.

I think coutinho is even less likely than Mbappe and Haaland.

Back on 2017, when coutinho-salah-mane-firmino on the pitch together. One of them scored every 23 minutes. With current financial condition, limited transfer budget, etc. Loaning coutinho is one of realistic alternative however it depends on how much Barcelona want to share salary expense.

Thankfully he’s off to Villa.
