Ed 001, Who will be the right one to manage Liverpool. Xabi, Flick or somewhere?

{Ed001's Note - can only be Xabi.}

Alonso should be the only candidate. Ancelotti would be fine on a two-year deal in my opinion, but he’s just renewed with Real Madrid.
Whatever happens, we need to accept we are losing a truly titanic figure in both the club’s history and the football world as a whole. The worst news we have had as a club in a long, long time.

Nagelsmann would be an interesting option.

I might be putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 here but I strongly suspect that the club has lined up Klopp's replacement already, or at the very least has had positive talks with at least one potential manager.

There was no reason that Klopp had to make this announcement now, it could have waited until closer to the end of the season, especially as a number of support staff are leaving too. I think the only way it makes sense to announce it in January is if the club are pretty confident that they know who the manager is going to be next season already.

Would you agree Ed001?

{Ed001's Note - not really, I don't think him going or announcing it is anything to do with the incoming. I think it is more likely someone had found out.}

Hi Ed01 - is Xabi a realistic appointment. Will he come?

{Ed001's Note - yes, yes.}

Absolutely gutted. Do you think Klopp will have the thought of leaving the door open for Alonso ed? Striking while the iron is hot, so to speak. Also, what is with the timing now? A rallying cry for the end of season push, something happening behind the scenes or just no other good time?

{Ed001's Note - I doubt him going has anything to with that.}

Surely it has to Xabi.

Ed01 and by some accounts, they are saying that should LFC come knocking for Xabi, Leverkusen may not be able to keep him. Nor will they stand in his way should he push for it.

Klopp brought not just the fans together but the club as a whole. He deserves everything. Hopefully he wins title again this season. Thanks Klopp you are the normal one but not to us.
P. S. if we win title on last day, it will be mixed emotions for me.

EDs, are you aware of any discussions on going about a replacement for Klopp. As the owners knew since November and the announcement today I wondered if there has been any?

1. Alonso 2. De Zerbi 3. Michel in that order.

{Ed025's Note - De Zerbi would be my 50th choice Tom, i think hes awful and has taken a very good Brighton side backwards mate..
