Got to say the pgmol are the gift that keep digging a hole.

Darren England will now not officiate any LFC games for the remainder of the season.

That’s just adding fuel to the fire around the incompetence of these refs.

If he’s not good enough to ref for LFC games due to his “mistake” then how does that mean he’s competent to ref all the other teams? If he can’t be trusted to ref one team he can’t ref any.

Frankly listening to the audio it sounds like he purposely made untrue comments to cause confusion. For me that’s a clear bias and cheating. He’s been caught LFC have called it out (rightly so) and he’s now “removed”
From refereeing our games. Hardly helps people believe that this was not cheating at the highest level.

I would have to aggree, best msg they could have put out is to sack him out the prem. Can you imagine the fireworks the next time Hooper cocks it up or next time var cocks it up. Bias is to purpously say specific individuals can not ref Liverpool games, so if let's say as an example if Hooper was a city fan he should not be allowed to ref city games because of a possible bias, its like they have admitted refs show bias.

Good post. This decision reeks of desperation as opposed to acting logically and taking proper action. I just can't understand why are referees so protected from any criticism or repercussions when players, coaches and teams are regularly penalized and banned (when appropriate) .

This mistake without doubt was of the highest degree which could potentially have significant implications on a football club at end of the season (and hundreds of people attached to it), but the decision in response is to turn a blind eye and let the referee off with a slap on the wrist?

I for one am not calling for the referee to be sacked if indeed pgmol believes this to a honest mistake, but something has to give and if the referee is not disciplined then the process has to significantly change instantly to ensure that this (and any other 'significant human error') does not happen again.

I for the life of me cannot understand what is pgmol so afraid of to air the conversation between the referee and VAR? What are they trying to shield by not broadcasting the real time conversation between referee and VAR?

this is to protect him, imagine a scenario where he refs one of our games and he gives another questionable decision. Imagine the noise around him then.

Its just laughable. I’ve restrained myself from commenting and posting the last days because my brain hasn’t been able to comprehend that all of this is actually real. Can’t believe what I’ve witnessed and can’t believe that heads aren’t rolling. It’s like when a police officer makes “mistakes” and get protected instead of punished. My faith is rescinding big time and I’ve been more excited about Liverpool and football this season than I’ve been since the CL winning season. My heart got ripped out and I’m in pain still. But I can’t wait for the game tonight. I’m sure the boys will mend the pain and show some beautiful football despite all the noise. YNWA.

An issue with em being allowed to ref in the uae is because they are eufa and fifa level refs they see having a prem ref as having the best. Ok so fifa and eufa should step in and say they fell below the standards required and are suspended from eufa fifa games, i believe being self governed sets out bias in its own right, a powerful statement to the two involved would be to remove them from any level of reffing from the prem and above thus kicking them down to championship level and lower. So if a club fails they get relegated if a ref fails they get relegated. Clearly the pgmol is too buddy buddy.

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with FIFA and EUEFA.}

The issue is he has made a highly suspect error that questions the integrity of the game and his integrity. I very much think the appropriate action is to sack him.

At minimum lengthy suspension from all games. 6 months or more.

If someone is guilty, we’ll never hear of it. Nobody will put them, including Media because that also makes money from the premier league.

{Ed002's Note - Rubbish. Match fixing has happened before - but there is nothing to substantiate the terious allegations that this is match fixing or corruption.}

It's a complete farce

Again, PGMOL had a chance to put a stake in the ground and do the right thing. and then they go and do this

Again, more questions are raised than answered.

This is a very dangerous precedent that they are setting.
They could end up not having enough refs for certain games if they keep handing out these "punishments"

everybody has their focus on the massive horror show from VAR,
and not thinking about the performance from the ref,
that was another horror show in itself .
gomez didn't get a pen,
the Mo Salah yellow card, when the ref gave a free kick against Mo. when he won the ball and was running towards goal, was another huge red flag for me,
lest we forget .
YNWA.

I don't know why the ref couldn't have stopped the game it happens all the time when teams restart from the wrong position its nonsense DE couldn't have told the ref to stop the game and restart from the centre with the goal awarded.

He got a yellow for kicking the ball away I thought.

yes he did Irish but the ref gave a free kick against Mo who would have been in on goal, , no way that was a foul by Mo, another red flag for me from the ref.
