Apparently (according to Sky) our people spoke to his people on Monday and the talks were described as favourable, whatever that means. Sky pointed out that we were/ are exploring a number of options although they didn’t say who but in answer to the original question, the answer seems to be yes but that doesn’t mean we are necessarily going to try and sign him.

I'm not subscribing to this "FSG won't let us spend money" malarkey. 6 months ago we paid around £35-45m for Gakpo and 12 months ago we paid around £65-85m for Nunez. 1 week ago we paid around £35-55m on Mac Allister. If all add ons get activated that's £185m on the last 3 first team players we've signed permanently. We also spent about £15m on Ramsay and Carvalho, so just a cool £200m in 12 months. Really penny pinching, aren't we!

Come on man. If Klopp wants a player and a deal can be agreed with their club, generally the money is forked out by who ever is in charge of releasing funds at Liverpool. Which i'm 99% sure isn't John Henry sat in a dark room tearing up cheques that are handed to him by Klopp to sign.

Lancaster - you reckon all those people at the match got in for free? Do you think the shirts that people were wearing were handed out for free by the club?
Do you think we let sponsors put their names on things for free? Do you think we didn’t get anything for finishing 5 th in the League or from the CL games? Do you think our matches appear on tv / social media channels etc for free?
It’s a bit more complicated than we sell one, we buy one.

MK, you are really take big risks talking common sense on here, because it will never register with certain quarters. It is far more convenient to shovel and dump manure on club management and FSG, while chanting the "we are skint", "FSG out" slogans because it seems to suit, more. Wasn't nunez only bought through all the sales out last summer? Mane minamino ect. Then who did they buy? Carvalho and Ramsey for less than 10 mil. Fair enough we bought gakpo in January and glad we did. BUT last summer was supposed to be the rebuild. Arthur doesn't even deserve a mention.
