Certainty wasn't our best performance last night, with some really sloppy passing in the first half which could have cost us a goal, especially by Fabhino. But to his credit, stuck at it and grew into the game. We seemed to dip dramatically for the last 15 mins in first half. Second half much better imo, controlled the game and sealed the win with our Number 4.

A great win non the less against a really good side that as taken points of all the top sides! Well done reds. Knew this was going be a tough game.

{Ed025's Note - i think you have that just about spot on drogie, difficult conditions but a very workmanlike performance and well deserved win mate..

Bang on Drogie! I feared this could be a game we dropped points. Haven’t seen much of Wolves this season but they have taken points off top teams and sitting in s very respectable position in the table. Really pleasing to see go well Coady has progressed since leaving us. He had a solid game and didn’t let Salah have too much space. Credit to Wolves’ pressing game too. We had to be patient and play out from the back to find the gaps to make poisitive moves forward. This has been a huge improvement on previous seasons. Having AB and VVD is invaluable and clearly what we’ve been missing. This was a game that in the past we would have dominated possession and territory, created 30 plus shots on goal and come away with a point at best. The confidence is growing and having a bench with GW, XS, NC, DS and others is reassuring. Top at Christmas is a massive milestone but still a long way to go. Will enjoy the celebrations this weekend even more now. Merry Christmas Reds. YNWA.

I thought Fabinho had another very good game apart from that 1 terrible pass.

{Ed025's Note - he was ok den, nothing more nothing less mate..

Grand another assist.

Ed025 you just don't like Fabinho and have made that clear. Don't know if you saw the Utd game but he was everything you claim he isn't.

{Ed025's Note - i have nothing against the guy hessle he played well against united and i said that, he was ok yesterday and i think thats fair or do you think he was more than that?..brilliant?, fantastic?, outstanding?...you tell me..

2 good assists in two games from your defensive midfielder means he's definately heading in the right direction.

Fabinho brings different qualities to the team which is only a good thing. He shows for the ball a lot too and doesn't hide when the game is tight in the middle.

He is growing game by game. He had a tough start but he is starting to find his flow. Looks like he has a determined attitude. Fair play to the lad.

Its a waste of time arguing with Ed025 about Fabinho. He would have no clue what a good midfielder like Fab brings to the table coz he supports Everton. Just time to give Ed025 a break and free ride when it comes to talking about quality players. Can't blame him that the Toffees are so bad and irrelevant.

{Ed025's Note - the thing is IB is that i am a realist mate, your lot live in this fantasy bubble where all your players are fantastic and can do no wrong, you dont like hearing the truth and thats fine by me as i have no problem with you riding unicorns in your make believe world, everton are not great at the moment and i tell our guys exactly that, mind you i never graduated from hogwarts like most reds fans so maybe its me out of step?.. :)

I think when your a player like Fabinho who has been one of our better performers in a team that is beating everyone then surely you have to be better than just ok? He’s our most in form midfielder at the moment for me his assist last night was excellent, the one last week was even better, he has very quick feet for a big lad and he seems like he has adjusted to the pace of the prem. he has been guilty of a couple of loose passes, the one last night was never on but overall he’s looking good. Don’t worry too much what Ed 002 thinks, he’s about the only person left that thinks Fab isn’t great and then tells us all that Andre Gomes is the best DM in the world, he gets carried away as much as anyone.

{Ed025's Note - fabinho has done well in the last few games den and i have recognized that in my replies, he has been one of liverpools best midfielders (mind you thats not hard with whats on offer in there) we are all guilty of bigging up our own players at times mate...but reds supporters have taken it to a whole new level..

I think ed25 is usually very fair in his thoughts.

He gives credit where its due.

Its only natural that we all have the specs a bit tinted and sometimes we mostly only remember the good things a player does in a game when a different supporter mostly remembers the bad things.

Most of us somewhat meet in the middle come the end of it.

One thing i will say is watching a full game for a second time can really open your eyes. Especially when your watching out for a strong opinion someone has had about a paticular player.

{Ed025's Note - i do try to be as fair as possible wolverine, but some just dont like to hear that one of their players is actually not the best thing since sliced bread, i do try to educate them mate but as del boy once said...theres none so blind as those who wont hear.. :)

Hey guys, lay off Ed25! Fabinho (who I love) did not do anything special in the Wolves game so Ed25 is right on that front, IMO. Fab was okay and effective in what he did and not effective in other stuff he did. Saying cos he has two assists hence, he is boss, is myopic cos there are things he is still getting wrong (dwells too much on the ball, still adapting to the pace of the PL etc. ) that he has to work on.

Ed25 has his opinion on Fab and it is up to Fab to prove him wrong or right in the long term and for now, he is proving him wrong BUT Ed25 like me, think Fab has a long way to go (just like Keita or any other player) to become the player we like to paint in our fantasies, as Ed25 would say.

{Ed025's Note - your spot on red wolf..

Always appreciate your input Ed025.

For some fans when the team is winning the team is the best ever, one loss and off form and we need to sell players and buy a new team.

{Ed025's Note - and thats not likely to change anytime soon john mate..

Ohhh I'm going to have to defend ed25 here (Not even drunk) . He's fairly impartial and fab had a decent game were he made a good assist, but he has only had a handful of good games for us so can understand where ed is coming from. however i do think you will eat your words atvthe end o the season ed!

{Ed025's Note - if i do Bmena then i will gladly hold my hands up mate, im not perfect (damn close though)and if im wrong i will say im wrong.. :)

22 Dec 2018 12:34:07
This is why hendo gets so much stick then! People are judging defensive midfielders by their assists! Another good performance from fabinho another assist too but if he doesn't get another for the rest of the season which is entirely plausible has he got to be replaced?

From what I've seen Ed25 has always been very fair and mostly unbiased in his responses about Liverpool players which is rare from a rival fan.
I have to agree with bmena-red however as I also think that come the end of the season fab will prove you wrong ed. Just my opinion. :)

{Ed025's Note - that could well happen KK, hes a bit marmite at the moment mate but we will see what he brings in the new year..when the going gets tough..

I will say that Ed25 is still in denial about Origi's ability to completely ruin his derby days each time he plays, lol.

{Ed025's Note - i think that distinction goes to jordan pickford red wolf, divok was like a rabbit in the headlights when that ball inadvertently bounced off his bonce, he is the "eddie the eagle"of the footballing world im afraid mate..
