Sorry if this is considered throw in out a random name ed, but do we maintain interest in Ante Coric?

Bmena-red

{Ed002's Note - No and he is likely moving elsewhere - there is just money to sort out.}

1.) 13 Apr 2018 19:13:48
Cheers mate!

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

2.) 13 Apr 2018 19:25:53
Is that Roma ed002? if you don’t mind me asking.

{Ed002's Note - It is.}

Hey ed sorry if this is just throwing a random name at you but read on another site about premier league interest in a young defender from Charlton Ezri Konsa, would this be someone Liverpool have ever looked at or someone you consider to be good enough for the step Up? It is, after all where we found Gomez.

Cheers.

Bmena-red

{Ed001's Note - I don't know, the people I knew at Charlton have all left (and glad to do so due to the ownership), and it is difficult to keep track on which youngsters the club are interested in from the Liverpool end, as they keep track of hundreds.}

1.) 12 Dec 2017 21:38:34
Okay cheers for the response.

{Ed001's Note - no worries, sorry I can't help.}

08 Nov 2017 18:34:18
Ed is there any interest in Westham's Reece-Oxford? And if you have seen him play what's your thoughts on him?

Bmena-red

{Ed001's Note - not any more, he has been a bit of a problem since bursting onto the scene. Gone all billy big-time.}

1.) 09 Nov 2017 17:12:22
Made his first appearance for Gladbach last weekend.

Reports coming out that West Ham are considering selling their best young players Oxford, Declan Rice Reece Burke, Domingos Quina and Josh Cullen to raise funds for survival.

Seems odd to me, why not sell the underperforming first team players?

To Maradona it is definitely not the same, Mikey.

8.) 08 Jul 2018 19:16:09
Lol sorry ED! But thanks for creative responses guys.

9.) 08 Jul 2018 19:42:31
True angry bardzo.
He seems to enjoy regular full sugar coke these days though rather than the Diet Coke that used to keep him skinny. 😉.

Lol sorry ED! But thanks for creative responses guys.

When Argentina played Nigeria I think he bought the whole factory of diet and full fat, to be honest. The man, as sad as it to say, is a loon these days.

Off topic of world cup and transfers ed, what were your thoughts on Alvaro Arbeloa and his time at Liverpool?
I loved him back in the day and he had an incredible career with Madrid and Spain. Not the most memorable of their invincible side but maybe the type of player they are missing atm.
Just ask because I was young when I watched him and so much of the time I only saw through red-tinted specs!

Cheers anyway, everyone enjoy the sun!

Bmena-red

{Ed001's Note - he was an excellent defender. As a full-back he was a throwback, not so good going forward but excellent defensively as he read the game well. As a centre back he was usually well positioned. One of the better actual defenders of recent years.}

1.) 04 Jul 2018 17:37:10
Cheers man! Used to love watching him play always seemed so reliable.

2.) 04 Jul 2018 20:53:28
Have to say I still rather Steve finnan prob the best I’ve seen play there in the last 15/ 20 years.

09 Apr 2018 17:53:01
Harry Wilson scored and set up another for Hull at the weekend! Have to say he's doing everything right to put himself in line for a squad place next season.

Bmena-red

1.) 09 Apr 2018 18:27:44
He is but he isn't ready for this level yet, call me negative but he isn't, he's playing for Hull and doing great things there in a really physical league, he is proving to be absolutely quality but let's face it, it's Hull, a terrible team this season, it's not hard to stand out there. I think the lad is the real deal I really do so don't take me the wrong way but would he get into our team? not right now, he needs one more season on loan at a promoted team in the PL before coming and getting into our starting 11 or even coming to the bench.

2.) 09 Apr 2018 18:48:37
not often I disagree with you Salah at all lol but if you can perform
in the championship then it means a lot as a youngster it is where beckham and kane deli ali all cut their teeth in the lower leagues
question for you right now would you rather have solanke or harry wilson next season on our subs bench?

3.) 09 Apr 2018 18:51:14
I disagree, playing in a team at the bottom half meacyou have to do the hard graft and learn the savy side of football,

It’s all well and good playing in a liquid football team but to learn how to fight how to grind out a result is invaluable, .

I don’t know if he is good enough but he’s certainly earning the right to a proper chance In preseason.

4.) 09 Apr 2018 19:03:12
Johncrow you make an excellent point there mate and my answer would be Wilson lol good question there mate, you stumped me haha!

I just personally believe he would need another season on loan elsewhere but at PL level just to get him ready for the top level. Maybe it's me been paranoid but I'd hate for him to come back next season and not perform as much as he did at Hull, it takes time but many fans would slam him for it, we've seen it recently with TAA until the City game last week and with Gomez, the mistakes he was making people was slamming him and it kind of annoyed me because he's still young, mistakes happen, he/ they're still learning at such a young age and been in such a league at top level, it's not easy but as you say the Championship is also as difficult, it's probably the most physical league in the world and he's thriving so I can't disagree with what your saying at all.

I genuinely do believe Wilson will be a big player, I haven't been this excited about such a player since Suso so I really do want things to work out for him. Should he come back and not go out on loan I can only hope he will thrive given his chance, the lad has plenty of potential to be absolutely quality.

5.) 09 Apr 2018 19:03:22
I disagree too. he's showing he can do it. He will be much better when he plays with better players. Im optomistic about him. If he stays grounded and keeps willingness to learn he could be a very important player for us in the future.

Klopp recognises that and made sure he signed a contract before he went out on loan.

{Ed002's Note - Klopp doesn't deal with the contracts.}

6.) 09 Apr 2018 20:08:32
Deffo agree Salah the kid looks like he finally will break through next season and knuckle down like Gomez and trent have
With Woodburn there as well our bench looks full of very good youth going foward.
Solanke needs to go out next season into a team that will help him grow in the lower league.

7.) 09 Apr 2018 20:34:07
Talksport did an article today on average age of match day squads this season in the league and we actually came out as 1st for the youngest average squad. 25 and a half I think it was we avaerage.

8.) 09 Apr 2018 20:36:06
Woodburn probably needs a loan now.

9.) 09 Apr 2018 21:10:38
I agree and maybe if he hadn't of had that injury, we'd have seen him sooner, but the loan was right for him, more chance to play stronger football, rather than U23s.

10.) 09 Apr 2018 21:12:15
A tricky winger much like Ryan Kent, has pace and decent technical ability on the ball. Could play on either side of the front three. What is more important to us than Solanke, Ings and Sturridge. Should have kept him and used him when one of our front three are injured.

11.) 09 Apr 2018 21:19:30
If he's going to be good enough, there's no need to rush him. It's not as if our attack is in dire need at the moment and it could hinder his development if were to have to play second, third, fourth fiddle. Give him more loan time and first team experience.

12.) 09 Apr 2018 23:05:56
If we'd of kept him Harry he'd of barely got game time and at his age he wants/ deserves game time, sending him out on loan was the best thing for him. If we hadn't of I'd of expected him to be looking for a permanent move elsewhere, who wouldn't at that age.

Going to Hull with the performances he's been putting in, he's opened peoples eyes and shown what he's capable of, whether he comes into the team next season or the one after it's clear for all to see, this loan move was the best thing for him.

Paul Smyth's on fire! 🔥🔥🔥

International week can be a bit of a bore but it's a great time to support Northern Ireland.

Totally agree mate. Not the greatest players but they have big ears. Love watching Our Wee Country!

2.) 25 Mar 2018 06:29:51
Trying to work out how this has anything to do with Liverpool. c'mon Lithuania!

20 Mar 2018 08:44:27
Could anybody who's watched Lewis Cook this season fill me in on how he's getting on? I remember seeing him at leeds and thought he was a great wee player, but wondering if he adjusted to the step up? Does he look good enough for a 'top 6' club now or in the future?

Cheers.

1.) 20 Mar 2018 09:22:56
Decision making is particularly poor. Great first touch, good dribbling skills, puts in the dirty work, crisp passer, but a little bit weak in the challenge (especially in the air) . If he learns when and where to pass he has all the tools to be a top 6 player but he isn't ready just yet. Another season playing regularly will stand him in good stead.

2.) 20 Mar 2018 11:00:02
Cheers Adam! Always can trust your judgement. It was his composure impressed me at Leeds, still young and someone for the future maybe.

Fella at Leeds atm called Ronaldo Vieria, he is a class act.

3.) 20 Mar 2018 12:13:25
You are welcome mate. And thank you. His composure is remarkable for such a young player, but because of how comfortable he is on the ball, he tends to hold on just a touch longer than he needs to, and thus is guilty of over thinking his options.

He was amazing for the England youth team last summer. Definitely one for the future.

4.) 20 Mar 2018 16:43:33
Of the Lewis', I'm more interested in Dunk, personally. Haven't been overly sold on Cook when I've seen him.

5.) 20 Mar 2018 18:53:20
Nah, not impressed with Lewis Cook or any of the Bournmouth players cos they are quite lazy out of possession and are only interested in playing when they actually have the ball esp. in defence where they don't even try to defend nor track runners. He has to do more, IMO.

I think Klavan is a decent option to have around the club, seems a nice bloke with plenty of international experience (albeit for estonia) .
He's not going demand ludicrous wages and nor will he expect regular playing time.
IMO his form at start of season was better than Matip's and on par with Lover's.

I think the Phil saga showed that the club do not want to be seen as a selling club at all. But when a player's head is turned by the big dogs there is little we can do, the reality is that majority of players want to play at the highest level and we aren't able to offer that at the minute.
Very easy as Liverpool fans to think what a privilege and honour it is to play for our great club but for a kid from Brazil or Egypt Barcelona, real Madrid would surely be the dream?

Really liked this piece ed, few new names for me to look into. Funny you mention brentfords recruitment I remember reading something a while back about a statistical approach they are implementing. Is this still the case and does it seem to work in your opinion?
Although I know nothing of him other than his season at Watford I always like quiche Sanchez Flores. Seemed unfair he was let go after a great first season.

Bmena-red

{Ed001's Note - it is still ongoing and working, though it is not purely stats-based. It is the owner's company that is a stats company, hence why they use it. He does the same with FC Midtylljand (sp?) as well. They used to buy purely on stats, but now they use the stats to pick out players to scout.

Sanchez Flores makes Mourinho look like an attacking manager. He is not my cup of tea.}

Thanks ed, interesting read. I haven't ever seen him play just know the hype from fifa and football manager etc. 3 player of the year awards in a row is quite something, do you back him to make a name for himself in England?

Bmena-red

{Ed001's Note - a name for himself?}

Thanks ed, great review as always. Matip frustrates me but Klopp frustrates me more by sticking with with him and bringing him on with so little time to play seemed a strange choice.

Bmena-red

{Ed001's Note - it is almost like he is keeping him sweet after selling Klavan and not offloading him instead.}
