Swansea and Wolfsburg open negotiations with club for Markovic. Just what I've read, looks to be permanent deal too.

Jonesred

1.) 29 Jan 2018 21:50:59
I hope this goes through the guy needs to move on. Best of luck to him if it works out.

2.) 29 Jan 2018 21:56:23
He should go to Wolfsburg, better for his career than the mess that is Swansea.

{Ed001's Note - anywhere he will play regularly is what he needs.}

3.) 29 Jan 2018 22:00:35
Really liked the look of him- shame didn’t work out.
What’s the issue Ed? Before LFC he looked really capable, quick, good dribbler and if I recall right weighed in with fair share of goals?

£22m and we botched his career.

{Ed001's Note - he wasn't given a chance in his best position and wasn't really ready for the league either. Not sure he was good enough personally from what I saw of him. He never really convinced me, but he did deserve better treatment than he got.}

4.) 30 Jan 2018 03:01:40
Chelsea were interested in him prior to him moving to us from Benefica. However, I think Chelsea balked at the asking price and had agreed to allow him to stay at Benefica for another year. If the club was not going to start him from the get go and that was obviously known, they should have done the same thing. Let him develop for one more year of consistent play then bring him to the club. The club had that Suarez money burning a hole and were signing anyone and everyone in sight to mount a challenge for the title the following season after falling to runner ups.

5.) 30 Jan 2018 08:19:00
Do not worry guys. After Markovic is gone, we still have Grujic's career to ruin.

6.) 30 Jan 2018 09:01:34
Let him go, he is still young enough to turn his career around. More wages saved from a player that has no chance of getting near the team and any appearance would only block a youngsters chance.

7.) 30 Jan 2018 10:28:21
maybe a future salah story in a couple years time.

10 Jan 2018 15:15:50
Seem to linked with Pavon don't know anything about him.

Jonesred

10 Jan 2018 09:04:57
If arsenal make an offer for Lemar would this prompt us to contact Monaco with an offer?

Jonesred

1.) 10 Jan 2018 09:11:52
what would prevent Liverpool being the first club to bid?

{Ed025's Note - nothing..

2.) 10 Jan 2018 10:16:04
If wat I have read this morning is correct that Monaco could b open for selling at a lower price starting at 70 million euros and we are not interested til summer that is pure lack of ambition by the club an will cost us a chance of finishing in the top 4 also maybe a cup run it shows the club is just not proactive enough in bolstering the squad too were we want too get too this fella is quality an we got to go all out too get him.

3.) 10 Jan 2018 10:52:13
It makes no sense at all therefore is BS.

4.) 10 Jan 2018 10:56:56
My question was because of additional reports stating we are not looking to buy him in January. However if arsenal made a move I’d hope this would prompt us to make a move.

If stories are correct he prefers a move to Anfield over the emirates.

5.) 10 Jan 2018 12:13:16
But selling Couts in the middle of the season made sense?
I know he was a disruptive player and they wanted him gone. but when we are in the last 16. FA CUP and Top 4 to compete. it doesn't make sense.
so I think that logic is out the window. Nothing makes sense WITH LFC 🤣.

6.) 10 Jan 2018 11:41:56
Exactly Ed025.

7.) 10 Jan 2018 14:24:08
it doesn't make sense for them to drop the lemar fee days after we got a huge amount of money, im calling bs on that one. they would normally be raising the price after a big sale not lowering, or maybe im missing something!

8.) 10 Jan 2018 15:31:42
It’s complete BS.

07 Jan 2018 14:36:44
From what I've read and only including credible sources we are looking at following both as now and summer arrivals.

Goretzka. Can sign a pre contract this month for a summer move or could even transfer for a low fee in January.

Lemar. Considered top target by club and probably most expensive. Monaco not looking to sell, but could be persuaded. Possible either this window or next.

Ceballos. Told he can leave if he wants to by Real and considered an option by Liverpool. Still young and wouldn't know how much he would cost. Possible January transfer, things could change with him in summer if Zidane leaves.

Meyer. Another player who can sign a pre contract this month for the summer or a low fee for a move this month. Like Goretzka would be a good buy for a free or nominal fee. Possible January or summer.

Brandt. Player Klopp really likes and plays a number of positions. Didn't want to move in summer as no guarantee of first team football. Doubt much has changed since summer. More likely a summer signing than a January signing.

I don't believe there is any interest in Mahrez from us. In my opinion I would take any of above options, and I hope more than one of them signs.

We have lost Coutinho this window, and we can expect at least Can and Milner to leave in the summer, with also players like Grujic, Markovic, Ojo or even Lallana possibly leaving.

Jonesred

{Ed002's Note - Importantly, Goretzka cannot sign a pre-contract with Bayern Munich. Anyway, I thought everyone told me he has agreed to move to Liverpool. Lemar, I am told by many that he is joining and it was apparently announced today by the fat kid from Bolton on Twitter - nailed on I understand the phrase to be.}

1.) 07 Jan 2018 14:57:26
Fat kid from Bolton Ed you really are The Man!

2.) 07 Jan 2018 15:52:37
Who is this fat kid frm Bolton? I’m not a twitter person 😂😂😂😂😂.

3.) 07 Jan 2018 16:23:20
Forgive my ignorance is that Duncan?

{Ed002's Note - Someone will have a link for you Twitterettes}

4.) 07 Jan 2018 16:31:25
Is that the fat kid that works at KFC?

{Ed002's Note - To the best of my knowledge he sits in their boardroom with his invisible friend whilst his world-wide posse of reports feed him minute-by-minute exclusives. I don't recall the name of the account but I see a lot of posts here that say he isne to follow and we offer nother compared to him.}

5.) 07 Jan 2018 16:35:28
It should be Sam Allardyche, he's probably using a VPN server located in Bolton.

{Ed002's Note - Someone says it is The Firm.}

29 Dec 2017 00:08:58
Just reading Lemar to Liverpool is back on for January not saying it's true, but would we spend that much so soon after spending 75 million?

Jonesred

1.) 29 Dec 2017 00:14:51
If we sell couts then why not? We would have the money and the Eds have said he is one under consideration.

2.) 29 Dec 2017 00:28:14
Don’t get me wrong I’d take him no problem.

3.) 29 Dec 2017 00:28:14
Don’t get me wrong I’d take him no problem.

4.) 29 Dec 2017 02:39:34
Probably Arsenal bound? - it' that time of year, linked with everybody under the sun, the amount of names I've read about us been linked with recently is incredible, I'm guessing a good 9 out of 10 of them aren't true, click baiting news websites half of it. In the eds word I trust.

5.) 29 Dec 2017 04:34:57
I would rather sign Brandt at a fraction of the price, but it would be a summer move. No way Bayer let him go in January. Lemar is way over priced imo. Better and equally good options like Draxler, Brandt available at a fraction of the price.

6.) 29 Dec 2017 09:24:58
I agree IB.

7.) 29 Dec 2017 09:34:22
If we had a choice of Lemar for around 90M or Draxler for 40M I know which one I would take.

{Ed025's Note - tell us then mate..

8.) 29 Dec 2017 09:36:39
Do you guys reckon Monaco will still be asking for the 90m they quoted in the summer or will that fee drop considering his form has dipped as well?

{Ed025's Note - dont let the fee cloud the issue jimmy..

9.) 29 Dec 2017 10:24:06
I get the feeling all liverpool fans secretly wish to be accountants.

{Ed025's Note - me too A2..

10.) 29 Dec 2017 13:45:30
A2, secretly wish to be accountants?
I have the misfortune of actually being one. And it does take the fun out of the transfer season when u become obsessed with numbers. I am still fuming about VVD's transfer fee and did not celebrate the signing like so many others did.

11.) 29 Dec 2017 14:23:07
IB, Your other half must have received an exciting Christmas gift.
We don’t know all the income and expenditure but have faith the people who need to are making the right decisions. Coutinho is likely to go and if we spend money on areas of the team which will take us to the next level surely it’s what matters. Plus in the summer or the next summer prices will likely have gone even higher.

12.) 29 Dec 2017 14:57:49
Red80, being an accountant is the reason I don't have a better half!

13.) 29 Dec 2017 15:15:21
Last i checked it wasnt my money they were using. let them spend it.

14.) 29 Dec 2017 15:36:16
the good thing is we are now spending whatever it takes to get our top targets. Spending more for Lemar, if he's the player Klopp wants, is better than spending less on Draxler who he doesn't want. That is a sign of the owners backing the manager and not saying, we can't afford the guy you want but you can have this bargain version. Reds fans complained for years about exactly that sort of transfer policy, so it's pretty baffling to now complain about us spending big. The fact is if we want to compete with the other big spenders then this is PRECISELY what we SHOULD be doing.

@ Salah, have you not been reading this site or what? Lemar is not just a random name, there is verified interest in him from Liverpool and the price has proved too rich for Arsenal, who will probably go for Brandt or Draxler instead. Personally, I am thrilled that we are finally putting up the money to secure our prime targets instead of pussyfooting about and low-balling clubs as we did plenty of times in the past.

15.) 29 Dec 2017 15:36:29
If any of the EDDS are around,
Have we got any interest in GELSON MARTINS, I think he would be a better option than THOMAS LEMAR, if COUTINHO leaves.

{Ed002's Note - In January 2017 Sporting made it clear to the one club who enquired that Gelson Martins is not for sale even at the €60M minimum realease fee that he has for Iberian clubs and quoted them an outrageous €120M. Bayern Munich, Juventus, Barcelona and Manchester United all have shown interest in the player whilst. Real Madrid and Liverpool had the player watched. Chelsea and Manchester City consider the price far, far too high. I am not aware of any approach from Liverpool but they have watched him. Again, he is a right winger so not a suitable Coutinho replacement.}

16.) 29 Dec 2017 16:13:55
Brandt is a winger and I believe Salah was the secondary choice. I don't think there would be much interest there now. In the summer Lemar was not pursued because Coutinho was staying, it ain't any money they are spending, but would prefer club in the top four than a club in administration over mishandled finances. Folks seem to have short memories that nearly 7 years ago we were at the brink of going into administration with Hicks and Gillett.

The club could bring in Messi and fans would still want Ronaldo too. These owners have done plenty, rebuilding the stadium and backing Klopp to rebuild the squad. Plus Lemar is CL cup tied, so it would make no sense to let Pipco go and then have less quality in the CL. If the club was silly enough to approach Goretzka without Schalke's permission then a transfer ban would be coming. Let's not forget the saga we faced with the Van Dijk incident.

{Ed002's Note - Salah was fourth choice.}

17.) 29 Dec 2017 16:40:32
He's done ok for 4th choice but would it mean that he maybe feels less wanted than if he had been 1st choice and look to move on as soon as a better offer came along - I know Ed002 you have said that he's courted Real Madrid - or even that despite his success Klopp may feel that he is replaceable should the former 1st or 2nd choice become available?

{Ed002's Note - I don't think anyone thinking along those lines.}

18.) 29 Dec 2017 16:45:30
That fourth choice worked out quite well, just hopefully people understand that can't keep throwing out names of players who play positions that are solidified at the club.

Would you mind sharing who were choices 2 and 3? Thanks Eds have a Happy New Year!

{Ed002's Note - This was all dealt with in the summer - move on.}

19.) 29 Dec 2017 18:38:42
Heard Spurs might have a summer interest in Lallana, any truth?

{Ed002's Note - A year ago they did.}

20.) 29 Dec 2017 20:51:29
Jurgen Meister - what you talking about mate, you obviously didn't read my post did you? I never said Lemar was a random name I was saying a lot of random names are been banded about because of the time of year. Yes we have interest in Lemar, we have interest in many players it doesn't mean we'll go sign them all though does it.

You say he's too expensive for Arsenal? what makes you think that? People would've said the same about us before we got VVD for 75 Million.

It's funny, now we've spent that much on VVD certain people expect us to go spend that much on the next 5 targets. We're not Man city, PSG, Barcelona etc, we can only spend what we're allowed to spend. Guaranteed if we went and spent 10 Million on a player similar to Lemar in January people would moan about it because it's not a 70+ million signing.

21.) 29 Dec 2017 21:57:41
Spending 10m on an absolute world beater is exactly what I was hoping for when we appointed Klopp. He found some absolute gems for Dortmund.

22.) 29 Dec 2017 22:39:49
I know that we were linked with Chilwell of Leicester but we went for Robertson instead. I have seen Chilwell play a few times this season and his performances remind me of a young Gareth Bale when he played for Southampton. Is he still on our radar? If so can we get him?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

23.) 29 Dec 2017 23:23:50
Dick van Dyke and Hedy Lamar for Coutinho? Seems like good business given Phil's departure is pretty certain. Van Dijk has to be an improvement on what we've got and Lemar is a regular for France (possibly the best national side in the World) . A top keeper would be great but I'd love us to get a Kante/ Matic type DM to protect our defence. In reality, it's likely that we won't strengthen at all apart from Virgil.

Really hope the stories of us being in for Sanchez are true. Think he would be a great signing for us, and if I'm right can play in CL. Would fit our system very well and can play a number of positions.

If we get him and Greizzman (big ask I know with Greizzman) that would be an excellent window for me even with losing Coutinho.

Third player If possible is persuading Goretzka to sign for us rather than Bayern.

In addition give Karius a run in the team for the rest of season and I'd be happy with that.

Jonesred

1.) 13 Jan 2018 23:51:50
You'd be happy with that? Jeez not hard to please are you. No chance we are getting sanchez or griezmann.

2.) 13 Jan 2018 23:52:28
Wake up mate please he's manc bound.

3.) 14 Jan 2018 00:02:52
Griezmann, Sanchez and Goretzka to replace Coutinho?

Coutinho was not super man and we are signing none of the above.

4.) 14 Jan 2018 00:06:38
Lost the plot! Sanchez, Griezman, Goretzka and Vvd! Really?

5.) 14 Jan 2018 00:50:58
I've heard the 3 of them are getting on the same plane as neymar and heading to john Lennon airport 😅😅.

6.) 14 Jan 2018 02:11:03
My 9 year old thought she could save up her pocket money and go to Disney World. Not sure why but this post reminded me of that.

7.) 14 Jan 2018 08:30:28
Wow it’s a rumour/ banter site by the way but here goes.

It’s confirmed we are already interested in bringing in Goretzka and Macca has confirmed we are in for Greizzman. I said I hope the Sanchez rumours are true so try reading properly before posting your negative crap. Jesus.

8.) 14 Jan 2018 09:22:19
Goretzka has one foot inside Bayern while nowhere did Macca state that the mystery player is Griezmann. And Sanchez? U tired of Mane already?
We don't need a automatic first teamer in the front 3, we already have 3 awesome players there. Sanchez and Griezmann ain't coming to warm the bench, certainly not for 300k a week which LFC will never pay. Goretzka makes sense but he wants Bayern and we should be targeting a DLP, not another B2B midfielder.
Don't be positive, be realistic in the transfer market. FSG don't have bottomless pits of money lying around, and certainly not to add luxury signings to the squad.

9.) 14 Jan 2018 09:48:58
Honestly your post is nothing but pure fantasy and just because it's not negative ''crap'' its still crap!

10.) 14 Jan 2018 10:57:11
Ok.

This is part of Maccas follow up post dated Friday.

“I haver heard his name mentioned all over twitter so people are aware of the French international, now i hope that helps, but again he will take a lot of persuading . “

This did indeed mean Greizzman (again I have never said we will, HOPE was the word used) .

Goretzka as well known is of interest to us, Then finally Sanchez it is reported we are in for him again I am not saying true but would like it to be.

10 Jan 2018 16:33:10
Emile Forsberg might be a good shout as a surprise signing. Klopp likes the lad and you never know.

Jonesred

1.) 10 Jan 2018 16:57:36
Dealing with red bull Leipzig again would b fun with all the keita drama.

2.) 10 Jan 2018 17:27:47
Forsberg is a quality player.

3.) 10 Jan 2018 19:12:52
I would take Forsberg tmrw BUT RBL won't sell their best player to us esp. after we signed their other best player. He is quality, no question.

08 Jan 2018 23:30:52
Today's rumours mainly surround the below players.

Lemar. Reports now saying he could be allowed to leave in January, no evidence we have contacted Monaco though.

Goretzka. Now stated that we are trying hard to convince him to join us rather than Bayern.

Ceballos. Apparently pushing for a move to Liverpool to work with Klopp.

Not sure on credibility but that's what I'm reading.

Jonesred

1.) 08 Jan 2018 23:54:29
and more word that RB will again not let Keita leave until summer.

06 Jan 2018 09:40:23
For me I think we are looking at Lemar, Goretzka and Meyer as possible buys. I just can't see us going for Mahrez.

Jonesred

1.) 06 Jan 2018 10:08:49
I’d be really happy with that. Think Meyer/ Goretzka would be a good option to control midfield with Keita and Lemar.

Midfield looked a little bland last night. definitely need some decent passers in midfield.

05 Jan 2018 22:49:21
Reading reports we e agreed £145 million for Coutinho with add ons but doesn't say what they are. Rest of squad have flown to Dubai without him for a training camp.

Don't know if it's true but can the Ed's confirm anything?

Jonesred

1.) 05 Jan 2018 22:56:49
I'd assume the £145m (if the figure is right) would be including add ons?

{Ed0333's Note - knowing the way FSG bungle transfers its 5 million guaranteed and 140 million add ons lol

2.) 05 Jan 2018 23:11:27
Don't forget the packet of crisps too.

3.) 05 Jan 2018 23:18:13

I think we be better with Karius and Ward for the rest of the season. May help appease Ward a bit for the messing around he’s had this season. If we can sell Mignolet I say let him go, Klopp has gave him many chances and he’s has not learnt I have no confidence with him in goal.

Midfield wise I’d really love if we could bring in Lemar, Brandt, Meyer (free) and I’d be happy with that.
We also have Keita arriving in the summer, but I can see Can, Milner and possibly Lallana leaving. Sessenogn would be a great signing and can play left back and left wing. Fulham would prefer not to deal with us though but the youngster may prefer playing for Klopp than Pochettino.

I’d expect the below to certainly be leaving next window.

Can.
Mignolet.
Flannaghan.
Sturridge.
Origi.
Markovic.

Plus I’d expect some of these to leave but dependant on arrivals.

Clyne.
Ward.
Matip.
Klavan.
Moreno.
Milner.

I’d love both Brandt and Lemar to come in this summer. Would offer versatility, pace, creativity and goals to our midfield. Id expect a goalkeeper but could be to be a number two to Karius yet.

Defence for me depends on sales from above players leaving and where they play.

For me I’d love both Brandt and Lemar for midfield, but both still versatile enough to cover other positions.

Goalkeeper situation is if Karius does well why drop him, he seems to be getting better by the game for me. If he does do well and Klopp sees him as number one what kind of number would there be sign that would sit on the bench? We have Ward who could push Karius on further. Mignolet is a must to leave though.

Defence again is one that’s reliant on the rest of the season. Both Gomez and Arnold have done really well, both have shown their inexperience at times and both have cost us goals due to this, but they will both learn. Gomez does have the potential to be a great centre back but too soon could be too much. For me leave both at right back for another season. Lovren could also form a great partnership with Van Dijk and therefore I couldn’t see the club selling.

Left back for me we have done great in signing Robertson, but I would love us to sign Sessenogn of Fulham for left. I doubt it will happen but I do like the kid.

Jonesred
