Pretty happy about it tbh but any info on why we didn't enter one of the friendly cups? Is it just down to timing of charity shield etc? Apologies if I've missed a post about this. YNWA.

It doesn’t matter at all mate. I was just curious as to why we weren’t involved in any when we have been the past few pre seasons. If this isn’t the site for me to post questions like that I apologise.

Bit of a long one but a few things I wanted to say.
As the new season rapidly approaches I imagine most Liverpool fans are the closest to actually believing the "this is our year" phrase since the beginning of the premier league. I am disappointed that this team doesn't include Carragger or Gerrard but this is Klopps team and what an exciting time to be a Liverpool fan. Let's not get too carried away though, there are some brilliant teams in this league and 38 games to go. An improved league position and a trophy would do me this year and I think that is a real possibility but we all know what objective number one is.
Something brilliant is happening at Liverpool and not just on the pitch. The stadium, training facilities, extended contracts and big name players. There is a pull factor that has been missing in recent years and I hear mutterings of new kit deals. I for one would love to see us wearing Adidas again. We seem to be nudging our way slowly back amongst the modern day power houses of world football where all Liverpool fans believe we belong. All I want as a lifelong fan is to be competing again, to be pushing teams all the way to the end of the season and not be 15 points adrift come January. We have been there and it's tiring knowing that a league cup is all we have left to play for. Klopp is making us believe again it looks like this season we don't just have a starting 11 that is capable but we also have depth and players that can come off the bench and make a difference. Last season we had Migs, matip, Klavan, Lallana, Woodburn, solanke, Moreno. This year it's Karius, Shaqiri, Sturridge, Milner, Gomez, Wijnaldum, Clyne and Origi who are potential starters in any EPL team. The future is bright and it will be a hard season but we have equipped ourselves pretty well this summer. We will be up there come the end of the season, I'm sure of it. YNWA.

Loved the post and totally agree with the expectations but you should have left out 'potential starters in any EPL team'. I know you said 'potential' but its the 'any' I can't agree with.

Going to my first game of this season and taking my 8 year old daughter to her first game. Wanted her to meet/ get pictures with some players. Does anyone know how to get access to the players entrance area. I've seen fans there before.

Bang on Drogie! I feared this could be a game we dropped points. Haven’t seen much of Wolves this season but they have taken points off top teams and sitting in s very respectable position in the table. Really pleasing to see go well Coady has progressed since leaving us. He had a solid game and didn’t let Salah have too much space. Credit to Wolves’ pressing game too. We had to be patient and play out from the back to find the gaps to make poisitive moves forward. This has been a huge improvement on previous seasons. Having AB and VVD is invaluable and clearly what we’ve been missing. This was a game that in the past we would have dominated possession and territory, created 30 plus shots on goal and come away with a point at best. The confidence is growing and having a bench with GW, XS, NC, DS and others is reassuring. Top at Christmas is a massive milestone but still a long way to go. Will enjoy the celebrations this weekend even more now. Merry Christmas Reds. YNWA.
