From the posts I understand we are looking at RBs, creative mid (Fekir potentially), Gk (Alisson, Navas) and a central mid (Ceballos, Jorginho have been mentioned) but I haven’t seen anything about a CB to partner VVD. Are we looking to strengthen here or are we sticking with Lovren and Matip?

Will Gomez be ready for the start of next season, he has just had surgery but not sure how long that rules him out for?

Minor ankle surgery? Can't be much longer than 3-6 months. He'll be back this calendar year in my opinion.

Maybe ST has a more conclusve answer though as I'm purely making an educated guess.

Under no circumstances Matip would be competing for a spot alongside VVD. We have moved on from him! Simply not good enough! Klavan is slower than a tortoise while Lovren will make one mistake every game! It’s upto Klopp what he wants!

You say that as though it is fact, but odds are Matip will be competing for a starting role next season. Whether we like it or not. Nobody has moved on. He's just injured.

Matip? Staggering really. Not saying you're wrong, just incredulous that those at the club think Matip is suitable as back up. Has proven time and again he isn't good enough - we'll need some luck from the injury gods or the defence will be in trouble again.

We have Keita, a RB and possibly A creative midfielder coming into the starting 11. You cannot sensibly replace more than 3 starters in the team and expect the team to work as well as it has this year.

I’m almost certain a CB will be on the shopping list next summer but you have to be pragmatic about these things. It’s not Fifa.

Spot on 87red. Hopefully Gomez can finally step up to centre back next year. Because I Don't have total faith in Lovren and I have none in Matip. Klopp does though, at least for another year, so we have to suck it up and support the team.
