What do we do with the ridiculously poor performances of Szlob? Offers nothing in a game and gives the ball away needlessly more than any player I can remember playing for us. I doubt he will become what people has hoped for like so many of our players including Nunez and Gakpo who are both a real let down since signing for us. 3 footballers who have proved nothing so far and need to show that there is footballer in each of these players deep down somewhere.

If I was Harvey Elliot and these 3 guys were starting ahead of me, I would be fuming. Hopefully, the next manager will appreciate Elliot more and can see how much better he is than most players in the squad.

As the person who discovered Thierry Henry and Mohamed Salah why don’t you tell us?

Would probably help if he was played in his best position which uses his best attributes as opposed to being turned into a Hendo 2.0.

Blame the coaching staff if you’re unhappy with Szoboszlai’s performances. They are the ones tasking him with being an all-action midfielder, running around like a border collie on Red Bull. Szoboszlai has so much technical quality yet Klopp seems to have had a Henderson replacement in mind when signing him.
Szoboszlai needs to be reasonably close to goal making things happen, not running up and down the pitch 73 times a game just because we can’t control a match properly.

Well sob was fantastic as an 8 at the beginning of the season. He has the legs and energy so it's a great asset to have that side of his game to be compared to Henderson. He'll I'm sure improve under say amorim and we'll have back our rolls Royce.

I've been critical of Szoboszlai but the OP sums up the dogma often seen on social media. I've also seen Szob described as the new Gerrard.

Shlob has real quality, we've all seen that. I agree that he is being shoehorned into a poor tactical set up that does not play to his strengths. For as wonderful as his technique is, he is such a powerful player, loves doing the hard yards. Unfortunately the coaches have noticed this and have been relying on him to prop up their ridiculous and unsustainable style of play.

Honestly, I can see him being an excellent Salah replacement. I think he'd work well on the right side of a front three in Amorim's 343. Could even do a job at wing back if it came down to it. He's a wonderful prospect with ridiculous potential, we are lucky to have him. I just don't think the state of affairs at this moment are flattering him.

100%, AW - he is a superb athlete but his real gift is his quality. He has the exact qualities that make De Bruyne such a devastating player - speed, aggression, awesome shot power with both feet, vision - though he obviously has a lot of work ahead to become that good.

Football is a funny old game and everyone sees the game differently I suppose.

I’ve watched Szob live recently and whilst he hasn’t been ripping up trees and has given possession away sometimes unnecessarily he’s still doing lots of good things and gets into lots of dangerous positions.

He gets criticised a lot for that but then I used to watch Hendo live do lots of pointing and shouting and rarely pass the ball forward and get lauded by the same fans that are in Szobs back.

AW and LoweLFC, fully agree. if you asked KDB to do what Szobo is being asked to do, he would struggle as well cos his qullity on the ball, athleticism and ball-striking ability (which was his strength at RBL) are really good.

It is a fact that the first time I saw Henry I asked my dad who that was as he looked class whilst still at Juve I was 13. And I did see Salah play against Chelsea for Basel and wanted him at Liverpool then and there. Some players it is quite obvious they have that something special. Didn’t think back then they would go on to be two of the best the Prem has ever seen. Remember though I also thought Macca was distinctly average so we all make mistakes.
