Great result, very good performance controlled the game completely special mention for Curtis Jones thought he was excellent all night and everyone played well without being outstanding, mo gets 3 assists and I'd imagine he feels he should have had at least one goal if not more. Allison was top drawer playing the keeper sweaper and pulled off one great save when needed all in all very happy with tonight's work. All we can do is try and beat villa and the saints and see where that leaves us and if we don't get champions league we'll it won't be from lack of effort from the last 8 or 9 games, unfortunately our poor record on the road throughout the season has been our downfall and if we don't get 4th we'll then its what our overall seasons performance deserves but if we win our last 2 and somehow scrape in we'll then it will be down to a run of form even better than that of city's on their way to closing out the title only time will tell lads but at least finally we are giving it a go, pity we didn't do it earlier in the season.

All said and done though, you have to say it’s “exciting” being a Liverpool fan.

The most exciting thing in a match that I thought I’d ever see, at least at the time, was the St Etienne game, when Supersub hit a screamer from half way down Breck Road. What did I know? Alaves, Istanbul, the Barcelona semi, Ali’s header …. It’s hard not to believe in the impossible with the best club in the world.

THAT is what we need from Curtis Jones. No more injuries and other nonsense; he has a golden opportunity to force his way into the team for the long term given the state of our midfield. He has the technical quality and physicality to become a top class player (the goals he scored last night were genuinely outstanding from a technical perspective) . No more stop-starts.

I think I have been one of his biggest defenders on here, and it just pleases me so much that he is finally showcasing his qualities on a regular basis.
He was absolutely sensational for the youth teams. Dribbling and scoring for fun. His technical ability is outstanding, and that's why I was even more perplexed why he wasn't able to translate it to the first team.
Apart from the goals, I thought he moved the ball very quickly last night, and his first touch was a joy to behold.

Curtis Jones has been balling out since he came back into the team and all credit ti him. The guy is just quality on the ball, press resistant, can pass it well, can shoot and score with either foot. If he stays healthy, we hit one here, not that I’m surprised anyway. Been a big fan since he sent Ed25’s bitters packing in the FA Cup game in 2019. Up Da Pool!

{Ed025's Note - he has done well this last month or so oli, stepped up to the plate when he was needed and all power to him, still has a lot to prove for me but i cant fault his application mate..

The first thing he needs Ed025 is tp consistently stay fit for a whole season. He has the knack of picking up frankly weird injuries at regular intervals and that helps no one. Once he is able to stay fit, maybe there can be talk of him being a first teamer on a regular basis.

{Ed025's Note - yeah he has been unlucky with injuries TKA , one swallow does not make a summer mate but kudos to the guy for showing up when needed..

Probably Jones best LFC performance to date so massive credit where credit deserves.

Biggest negative for him is the season ends in 2 games time where he looks like he could go another 20 games in this form.

Hopefully he can have a good pre season and hit the ground running next season along with the rest of the squad.

{Ed025's Note - but if you sign 2 midfielders like is being touted JK will he just fade into the background?, i suppose thats up to him mate..

I've dug Jones out for not being good enough before. There is a player in there but he needs to do it consistently. I'm well up for being proved wrong and I hope he continues to shine. Is it too late though with us bringing in new midfielders?

Ed I don’t think he should fade into the background, he has earnt a shot at next season. If we lose ox’s naby and Milner, from this season (not many mins I know) that leaves fabinho as the main holder, with Thiago elliot Jones and hendo on the sides. You’d argue that 2 are a little past it/ injury prone and 2 are pushing their way in - you need that prime player in there to cement his spot and be the constant.

{Ed025's Note - i just dont know if he is that player firmane, i cant argue with his performance this last month or so but before that he was very underwhelming for me mate, i expect liverpool to bring in at least one maybe even 2 quality midfielders and then i suspect his game time will be limited and especially with how trent has morphed into this free role..

Fair enuff, Ed025. In fact, I agree with all you have said right there. Im not saying he has reached the promised land cos he is still only 22. Like you said, he just needs to apply himself, realize his immense potential and try to stay healthy and put it altogether to get consistent performances, IMO.

As for the favour we did for you guys with Leicester, I could not be arsed one bit if that club and this wretched section of the fan base goes directly into the Championship and remains there for donkeys with the absolute ship they chant towards our fans home or away. I would pick Everton over them all day and 30 times on Sundays to go down and I hope they do go down. Peace and Love, man.
