Ed001 I don't know if you watched the last 2 games. I know we were awful but from half time vs Bournemouth and last night that line up was not right at all and Klopp has to take the blame for that. Last night to have a midfield pair of Fabinho and Milner was pure madness and the worst thing was with that formation vs Bournemouth in the second half we where dreadful to have 4 forwards on the pitch we just gave away all control of the games.
As for Trent Ed I have always been a massive fan and I have stuck up for him this season but last he reminded of Dele Alli when he was starting to decline at spurs.

Klopp is at blame for what? Having his 109 central midfielders out with injuries? Who do you want to pair with Fabinho?

I don't think throwing 4 forwards on has ever worked for Jurgen with us - apart from the first 45 mins at City in 2020.

Even more so when our forwards give the ball away so much - which gets doubly worse with no effective counterpress behind them.

Klopp spent all summer telling us how great this midfield was and we didn’t need players not a chance we’re using that as an excuse for him.

Fpf we had 5 midfielders on the bench so apart from Thiago and Henderson Klopps had all the his start of the season midfielders fit, Arthur did not even make the bench.
So don’t make excuses up for Klopp he has been in charge and let this team slip into the state they are now. Everybody likes to blame the owners for everything that has gone wrong but this decline is all Klopp he has let the team age, a few years ago we had one of the most valuable squads in the world but know we have players way past there best on massive contracts and the amount of players we have lost to free transfers is very poor management.

Bacjetic was also out. I think it’s fair given his last 19 games he is a first teamer now. To be fair if we had a fully fit Diaz and Bacjetic maybe the game goes differently last night, maybe.

I like Milner, but if we're all completely honest - he wasn't a top level central midfielder at 27, never mind 37. At best he was a Park-Ji sung type wide player. He brings a lot to the table besides just purely his football ability, no question of that. But bottom line, he's not a central midfielder.

Agree midfield 2 wasn’t a great selection but I would play Milner over keita and Elliot in there so didn’t really have any other option did he. Best of a bad bunch unfortunately.

grino75 - I don't think I am making any excuses for Klopp. I agree that he's complicit.

Brilliantly done, Grino75. It is Klopp's squad and player mismanagement that have led us here over time. You can also add the legendary "Michael Edwards" to partner Klopp with the dreadful job he did with negotiating player contracts and extensions on big wages that led to players being difficult to move on cos nobody would pick up the tab.

I agree with the contracts. I remember as clear as day when Salah, Hendo, Vvd and Gomez signed their new contracts this site was completely up in arms.

Well actually that’s a lie. Probably 99% of all posters were happy with all 4.

The Premier League Table at the end of the season will be the judge of how any manager has done over the season.

Champions League qualification is the minimum the owners would prefer i guess and the fan base, if that is not achieved this year then Jurgen still has my vote for next season, after that who knows? as no manager has "carte blanche" to be at a football club forever.

Salah and VVD getting contract made sense. Henderson and Gomez getting them made zero.

That is it, OneKiss. It did not make sense for Gomez to get a 5 year deal esp after the injury ordeal he just got out of nor did it make sense, for starters. Matip should have been sold after last season but was kept. We signed an injured backup for Trent who is now gone for the season YET we are all asking ourselves how the squad detiorated over time. Yeah, keep asking a question fir which the answer is right in front of us.

Olired you can add ox to that a new deal after that massive injury and he has been a shadow ever since. Henderson missed something like 14 league games for 2 seasons on the trot still had 2 years left on his contract and Klopp pushed to have it extended and am sure he has the biggest say in who we keep or sell.
Long term planning is Klopps job and he let Gini Origi Can and now Ox and Naby all stay till their contracts ran out.
As a manager I love Klopp in my lifetime as a Liverpool fan he is my 3rd favourite only behind Bob and Kenny but above all I love the club more and I hope Klopp turns it around and I don’t want anybody else in charge but Klopp needs to learn from all these mistakes. There is no room for loyalty in football it is a very cut throat industry and to stay at the top you need to be ruthless players get paid massive wages so they don’t need loyalty that’s why they get paid what they do let’s be truthful even the so called most loyal players will jump ship if it’s better for them we have seen players at are club do what ever they can to get a move. Even Gerrard was ready to move from the club he lived and was at from a child.
