Mentioned it on the match post but I feel wholesale changed will only make things worse.
Firmino missing from the false 9 makes a difference.
Let's stick Nunez back on the left where he is affective and stick Gakpo or Ox as a false 9. I believe that would be a slight improvement and then we look again.

Firmino and Ox as false 9s are not the answer. Firmino has been on the decline for years and Ox is not good enough for midfield let alone as a false 9.

OP, none of that matters if we aren't even arsed to put a tackle in and compete and win one one one battles. Bobbie or whoever ain't going to save us if we are not even competing physically in games. For me, no player or lineup or tactic is going to work here until we actually start competing in games.

Nunez had probably his best game against Wolves thus far. His hold up play, link up play, pressing, finishing and creating chances were all top notch. Was comfortably our best player on the pitch. Why move him after he's just had a huge shot of confidence?

Missing my point here. I me at this as short term whilst Firmino is out.
Yes, Nunez had a good game and I like what he is bringing, however he does this further up the pitch. This is still something he could do from the left as can Salah from the right.
With a false 9, it gives us abit more of that stability, allows the midfield 3 to stay a little more set for counters and can utilise runs from out in for Nunez and Salah.

Sorry but nunez’ dribbling and crossing skills are terrible (on top of his finishing skills) are currently terrible. So putting him on the left would be a bad idea. I’d rather have him play through the middle with gakpo on the left and salah on the right.

OP, I DO get your point and it is a moot point if the conditions I laid out are not met, first and foremost. Footie is a battle on the pitch and if you ain't ready for it, Lionel Messi or Pele in the false 9 or whatever can't help you. That is my point.
